There are many ministers who write and then read their messages around this planet. If a minister pens his/her message and they have spent time with God, you will know it because the flow will be steady. God has given the church ministers who read, "shoot from the hip" with the Word, memorize and read, just memorize, speak only from the Word and experience and tear a church up. I personally don't care how the Word gets delivered if they have studied, YOU as a mature saint will "sho-nuff" know
I agree with you to a certain extent. As a preacher myself I make sure that I always have a written manuscript. Now, if God changes what is on it after I step into the pulpit that is a different story. It is ok to have a manuscript but one must know how to minister from it without reading it as a story. It is true that a lot of the younger preachers have to find their own voice because a lot of them do mimic their mentors that are on here; but there mentors have to truly nuture them!
And let us not forget about the people in the Bible who were young and called by God. That's all. Allow people to grow and learn. I mean someone had to put up with you through your growth process. Crazy part is, you never stop growin. Growth is a perpetual process and opportunity to learn.
The "Gospel" was mentioned when he said that God was the medicine, however, he never said how you could obtain the perscription. He stayed on that for about 0.5 secs. There's nothing wrong with young preachers, they have to be taught and learn just like the other Preachers in which people think just pop out of their mother's womb at the age of 67. In addition, gotta understand that some of them are still children, so being careful about what and how you say something is key.
He's actually a student at Morehouse...I believe by now he has graduated so yeah. Plus, I am a 21 year old Minister and I surely use my manuscript and I am a senior at a four year highly-esteemed public university
Why does it matter how God's Word gets delivered? Manuscript, Outline, Memory, or a combination of all three; as long as the message is conveyed and souls are reached, healed, and helped should be your only concern. God will amplify the gift as his experience expands. If many senior pastors spent more time on teaching them how to deliver their gifts instead of criticizing the gifts, the results could be phenomenal. I have found most who criticize are not that well versed in delivery either.
