Sir I have amblyopia and my vision of left eye is 6/36 and other eye vision is 6/6. Is there anyway to improve vision of my left eye.I am from New Delhi India.Please help me.
Amblyopia is not something that I help people with. It is best treated by vision therapy during the first few years of life. It is very difficult to improve vision in an adult with amblyopia. Ask your eye doctor for recommendations.

I appreciate your comment Richard. My intention with these videos is to make people aware that there is help for low vision. If your eye doctor tells you that nothing can be done ask to be referred to a low vision optometrist. Or, you can Google "Low Vision Doctor". Thank you.

I hope this message finds you well. My name is Abbas Ismail, and I am writing to you from Zaria, Kaduna State. I work as an admin assistant at the Distance Learning Centre, Ahmadu Bello University.
I am visually impaired and have very low vision, which significantly impacts my ability to read writings on paper, even with reading glasses. Currently, the only way I can manage to read is by taking pictures of documents with my phone and zooming in on them. This workaround is far from ideal and has become increasingly challenging and psychologically taxing.
I am reaching out to you to request any assistance or recommendations you may have to help improve my situation. Any support, whether technological or otherwise, would be greatly appreciated and would make a substantial difference in both my professional and personal life.

You don’t say what has caused your vision impairment. I recommend that you visit an eye doctor in your area to find out what has caused the poor vision. Then ask if the doctor can prescribe special glasses to help you. If not, ask if you can be referred to a doctor who can help you. Good luck.

I wish I could help you. In order to prescribe glasses for low vision you will have to make an appointment with a low vision doctor who will evaluate your remaining vision and determine what will be best to help you. That is not something that can be done long distance. I hope you are able to find a doctor in your country who can help you. Good luck
Hi Dr. David can my retina specialist doctor prescribe for me this type of glasses because i asked him before to wear glasses since i had -2.5 before i have a serpiginious choroditis bit he said me it will be a silly diference. Or what sjould i ask him to recomend me other doctor. Many thanks
My experience is that retinal specialists rarely prescribe glasses of any type. If you ask your doctor he may be able to recommend someone who does prescribe low vision glasses. You could also Google "Low Vision Doctor" and that may help you find someone who can help you. Low vision glasses magnify what is seen. They do not cure vision problems the maximize the remaining vision. Good luck.

Thank you for watching my video and for contacting me. In order to prescribe low vision glasses for a person the doctor must evaluate the person's vision and understand their needs and goals. Of course, that requires a visit to the low vision doctor. It cannot be done from long distance. I am sure that in a city as large as New Delhi there is a doctor who provides this service. I wish you the best of luck in locating a doctor and getting help.
Hi Dr. Armstrong. I am from Manila and I have RP. I have no central vision anymore, but I have my peripherals. Hence, when I read, I use a magnifier and read through my peripheral vision. Could your eyewear help me> Thanks. - Carlos
Thanks for the question. I have passed on your contact information to a laboratory that makes these low vision glasses. I asked if there is a doctor in Manila who prescribes them. If there is they'll let you know. See that doctor and they'll be able to tell you if the glasses will help. Good luck.

I wish that I had better news for you. There is no cure for macular degeneration. It is important to follow your doctors recommendations. The injections may help your vision ramain stable. A low vision doctor may be able to help you see better by prescribing low vision glasses like i've described in my videos. Good luck.
