    The teaching on Ruth was one of my favorites 😄... so loved her tenacity and desire to put Naomi ahead of her own well being... Toda Rabah Rabbi...

    Thank you for another thought provoking teaching, Rabbi. Baruch Hashem. I would like to respectfully ask you a question, given the small chance that you might see this among your many comments. My background is that I have diligently studied the Scriptures (BA in Religious Studies), plus read on my own verse by verse, chapter by chapter, Book by Book - the Bible completely through ten times before reading the Books separately and have studied for years with my Orthodox Rabbi. I say this so that you will not think I am popping out a question for the sake of an antagonistic argument. Given what you have just said about Paul: I am wondering if you believe that ALL Scripture is NOT breathed by God and is NOT profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness, 2 Timothy 3:16. It sounds like you are saying to disregard the verses you mentioned by the Apostle Paul. Frankly, what you just said makes 2 Timothy 3:16 a flat out lie, and that you are presenting Paul as an instrument of satan. This is disparaging. Holy cow. If Paul cannot get it right and is being used by the devil: where does that leave the rest of us? Does the Holy Bible contain a lie? God forbid! I don’t count you among the people who feel like they can tear out and throw away commandments & precepts, and in self-will select those that they have no problem keeping - always giving a reason of their own. These Christians are selectively dining, buffet style in God’s cafeteria. Personally, I do not want to be counted among them. I do not think Paul made a mistake, else it contradicts 2 Timothy 3:16, thus opening the door to consider other verses to be a mistake. The way I see it: there are no contradictions in the Bible - just apparent contradictions and that it all comes together so beautifully that it is sometimes incomprehensible to us. There is heresy in the church to pull out a Scripture or two and build a whole dogma around it, and also to disregard the entire Old Testament. Will you please be so kind as to elaborate on your position about the verses in question here? I understand the heated conflict between Peter and Paul. While they both had their share of infirmities, I do not think either one got it wrong;; if they had it would mean that all Scripture has not come from the very breath of God (Theopaneupsis/Greek/sp?- as in Genesis 1). While I have appreciated this teaching, I have found it confusing and do not fully understand what you are trying to say concerning these points. We have to balance Scripture with Scripture. Thank you. Shabbat Shalom

      Shabbat Shalom! Toda for watching and for the comment. Excellent question. Very straight forward and easy answer. The God breathed, infallible, Holy Written Word of the Living God is the Tanak and the Gospels. That’s it. The letters are absolutely not scripture and no Paul didn’t “get it right” and that is not, in anyway, saying that we have no hope to get it. Far from it.
      Please be sure to watch all four episodes of Galatians: A Critical Review as well as An Overview to Ruth (all on the same playlist). Read the description of the video as well. :-)

    Please excuse me if you have already stated elsewhere, but what is the source for 36:35 referencing the Halachic understanding brought down by Samuel. Thank you in advance, Shalom

    I am new to all this and I wish you did a better job of backing up the commentary you deliver with scriptures and sources so that we can follow along. You seem so combative and argumentative that it is a little concerning. Especially when all this is so new and I’m just trying to learn but it’s like I’ve walked in on an ongoing argument that I’m not a part of but have to witness. I hope you don’t take offense. I pray you will become comfortable with just simply presenting the facts as you’ve received them with the corresponding references and let HaShem draw them.

      Welcome home Tara. So glad that you are here. Don't worry, the knowledge will exponentially grow over time. We do the very best we can in presenting the sources. As you may know, Rabbinic sources are vast. The Midrash (and there are several), the Talmud, the Zohar are volumous works with thousands of pages. And then we have the copious commentaries. As for style, well, as they say, some like classical and some like classic rock. It is always a challenge to accommodate ones style preference as people come here form a vast array of backgrounds, experience levels, and - frankly - theological baggage. Prayerfully, the substance outweighs the style of any given shiur.
      Are you aware of the daily Aliyah teachings? M-F at 9:30am CST.

      @@LapidJudaism yes. I am becoming aware and challenging myself to take it slowly. I want to gobble up everything but this must be a time of intense study, prayer, AND reflection…the SELAH. I am realizing that I must submit to the process and let HaShem do the work.

    Brother, you are misinterpreting Paul. Wherever Paul talks about freedom from the Law it is the Law of sin and death. Read Galatians and keep Paul,s line of thought

  • @raptorm1789

    What a contrast, "I don't beleive Paul wrote these epsitles", "Paul hated the Torah, he hated the law of God". If that doesnt make you question this teaching? "Everything I just said is an absolute indisputable fact! Wow!! Bro! The contradictions in your own statements are absolutely astounding. And that's cause you are struggling so hard to get believers off the Paulinian wagon. Watched your 4pt teaching. And by the way Ive watched lapid for long and agree with you on many teachings. But as one that's not ignorant id commend the brethren to seek out truth for themselves. Nothing wrong with listening or following your teachings but if your coming around as the ultimate standard is to limit one from God's spiritual law verses ceremonial law. We have the old dispensation and the new dispensation. Which will you choose? This does not mean that that the old is utterly useless and to be forsaken but that some of the elements in it won't profit much to eletvation although necessary as a shoolmaster but since we have the new dispensation now it should be what we should rely on as its not altered, nothing distorted as of days, months years and feasts of the Lord. Cultural and Historical context is essential to interpretation and to this journey. So we don't misrepresent Gal 4:4 or any other portion of the bible.

    • @LapidJudaism
      @LapidJudaism  Рік тому +1

      You believe in dispensationalism which is bogus xtianity. You believe that the “ceremonial” Laws have been abolished? Which means that you believe that the Paul nullified a large portion of the word of God. (btw, HaShem never makes such distinctions). That’s just heresy plain and simple. Paulianin falsehood. In fact, like most xtians, it looks like your entire theology is based on Paul. That’s the whole point of the study.
      Btw, there weren’t any contradictions in my teachings. And the are facts because they are. History is history.
      Thanks for watching .

      This question is much in similarity to that asked of the Messiah in John 8. You can't make this up.
