Hi there. I love the hp30r, what a fantastic headlamp, mine graced my head for years. Very similar attributes to both them lamps, that's why I like them both so much!! The upgrade from the original HP25R to the V2 is definitely worth it btw if you thinking about it. So reasonably priced too! No to mention the discount code 😉 Cheers
Nice vid Bud. With the lamp, does it go straight to red lense or do you have to go through white light to get there? For seatrout fishing I don't want to spook the pool with white light
Hi Rick, it has a memory function so if red was the last light you used when it was switched off last then when you turn it back on it will be on red again. There is only one button for the flood though and you will have to cycle through the white floods to get to the red flood if white was the last flood you used. If you are looking to use the red function mostly while fishing I would look at the shadowmaster (HM65R) this headlamp has 4 outputs on the red flood from 5 lumens all the way up to 150 lumens. I have a video on this lamp too, you'll really be able to see how bright the red can go but still offers the low outputs for stealth. The HP25R v2 only has a low 5 lumens red output. Might be worth looking at 'Ridge Monkey' rechargeable headtorches. They have two green settings. I got a new one for about £35 to £40 on Ebay.
