Hiram, thank you for the great instructional videos that you publish! I'm an amateur mechanic, never touched an an auto transmission. But seeing your videos makes me know I could rebuild one of these if need be.
Hiram i wanted to thank you again for the upload. I have suceesfully rebuilt my transmission, thanks to your video! Its been about three weeks and all is well. God Bless You!
The kit i got off of tansparts i beleive. You can get it anywhere just give them the transmission model. In my case was cd4e for ford escape it was a master kit with torque convertor. About 300 to 350 with torque converter.
This guy is almost as good as I am.!!! LOL. I also prefer the green lube. It works better in hot weather and sticks better to hold washers and bearings in place. Great job on this transmission Hiram.
Hiram thank you for the upload. I have two Ford Escape I have already paid three thousand dollars to rebuild one and now I have the second escape trans fail me. I don't have the option to rebuild this one in the shop. I will be attempting to do the rebuild myself. I am very knowledgeable in car engine repairs but the transmission is something else. However with your videos and your knowledge I believe I can do the job. Were I believe I may have trouble is identifying and replacing the bearings. I have purchased a rebuild kit by transtec and plan on buying the transgo shift kit aswell. I plan on starting this week end. Thank you again!
i would like to share with you what I've discovered to be a great re-sizing tool for the white lube ring..... a 4L60-E 2-4 servo just buff a slight taper around the edge and it works very very nicely
My 2006 Ford excape would not pull so I check the fluid and it was full so I stared it up and it was still full so I new it was not pumping fluid shop wanted 2.500 to repair so I took out the pump it was locked up and broke the shaft that goes to torque all because of the pump so don't pay the big prise do it your self
got a aftermarket replacement drum and on the side where the snap ring is, on the replacement drum, the snap ring is further down the drum so there is 1 less steel and 1 less clutch plate., is that ok/
Hi , thank you so much for this Video it was very helpful for me , I've got a question : I'm a mechanic but my experience is mostly in manual gear box , I've got honda CRV auto which has a gear box problem , the problem is that when I start to drive ,the first gear makes a shock ( bang) if I push the power, I think that the solenoid valf has a problem ! But I'm not sure . I will be very grateful if you give me some advice . Thank you
I stopped watching at the end of this video, can't stand those heckin noises. You're a great teacher, not sure who convinced you into those god aweful sound effects though.

Do you have to remove the engine in order to remove the transmission?

Do internals go in a parts washer to be cleaned on a rebuild?
