    When I was 19, I had a clutch cable break on my sport bike. I never realized, until watching this video, how lucky I was that it didn’t happen while I was shifting gears. Thanks for the PSA, Jeremy.

    Lubricating your pivot points i.e. clutch handle pivot , cable and sheath and of course this addition will prolong life of any cable significantly.

      Agreed 100%. But lubricant will not make up for a faulty product. Don’t confuse this failure with a lack of care and maintenance. This failure was a defect in the product.

      I think I'm gunna need 1 for my 76 triumph clutch is very stiff and I have replaced everything on the clutch. .... lever and perch cable springs plates and actuator still very hard to pull im missing my index and middle finger I will get 1 BUT! I have a mate that makes cables so I won't be using the cables provided with it and I want to relocate it and hide it under the tank so my friend will have to make me a set of cables to suit

    I see where you are coming from with this. I had one of those clutch assist devices way back on one of my dirt bikes, and I did not have a problem with it. But it does add another possible component to fail. This said, I have also had quite a few clutch and throttle cables snapped mid ride, so like you said, taking a look at the cables is a wise move even if you don't have the clutch assist.

    Helpful video, you can go with lighter clutch springs for a lighter pull. But as long you inspect as you mention it's mechanical and can be removed quickly if need be.I have had clutch and throttle cables fail on me before. Probably best to lubricant every 3 months or when changing the air filter.

    8000 miles from something designed for track racing is pretty good right?

      If you like garbage parts than sure, it’s pretty good. It’s the fact the the part that failed is the exact same part that is on every clutch cable out there racing or not. That little bulbuls end. They simply did a crappy job of that part. Hey, if you want to put this on your bike and have it fail while riding in traffic go ahead. I certainly don’t want that again.

    The real issue was never the Easy Clutch System. Obviously the cable failed inside your Clutch perch and adjustment bolt. Lube is not the only solution here. Wet lub attracts dirt and will result in a shorter cable life. The lever and perch should be inspected and adjusted with the slot in the adjustment bolt facing to the front of the motorcycle so the cable will not travel in the slot area when activated. Maybe you should do some research and make an informative video to prevent the cable failure and stop bashing Moose products.

      The cable ends on the Moose product are far smaller than a stock DR cable. By that alone it is under-engineered and an inferior product. Maybe Moose should make cables to the same spec as the factory and I wouldn't have this complaint. Not rocket science here. Just inferior products. Thank goodness I made this video letting folks know the truth. You're welcome.
