solid build
Hey man, thanks for sharing this. I have a Canon RP as well. I had it for a year already. Moved up from a 60D. I shot some footage finally to test it out and it actually looks great! The camera is definitely underrated.
Thanks for the feedback! And I’m learning it’s less about the specs and much more about the artist/art.
Excellent video! I fully expected this to be the same spam garbage everyone else posts but this was useful. I also had no idea the battery grip allows you to hot swap battery’s without powering down! Game changer. That makes the only annoyance if you aren’t recording externally taking the damn grip off on repeat to swap the memory card right? And obviously never truly knowing your battery level if again your not using a v mount battery.
Love your rig man!! Quick question: how did you get to keep your camera LED screen on while connecting to an external monitor? And which dummy battery do you use for the RP itself?
Hey man, solid video. I have the rp and ninja 5 however my rp still shuts off a little after 30 minutes, even with eco mode off. Any advice?
Have you had any hotshoe issues? That's a lot of weight being applied to that hotshoe and I know a lot of the R-series cams have horrendous issues with the hotshoe (can't recall if the RP has the screw heads inside the body).
I don’t use the hotshoe handle a lot, so probably not enough to cause a problem like that. But I’ve had no issues with it the hotshoe mount personally.
got any footage with that rig ?
Well everything on here is still shot with the rp. I’m actually doing a video in a week or so about that lens, so there will be footage of the lens quality. I’m also working on something for the RP and Ninja as well. I’ll make sure to pop this lens on when I do!
You never tried cinestyle or any third party C-Log?
I actually have. But it’s been a while. I’ll see if I can carve out some time to do some tests/comparisons.
Thanks for a great presentation, demonstrating how to make the most of what we may already have.
You've shown that use of what we may already have is sufficient in getting the most of our tools.
