Howdy! I enjoy watching all your shows and I have definitely learned quite a few tricks and tips from you! Is there a specific brand that you can recommend? I bought some frozen ones over the years and they were not as fragrant as I would like.
I've been told that lemongrass and pandan are good for the skin. I've made this today, because I've been having too many allergies lately. Aside from adding sugar, I also added a squeeze of calamansi for that citrus taste and vitamin c, and it tastes amazing! Thanks for this recipe! I think I'm quite addicted to the taste. haha
I’m looking back at some of Pai’s older videos and came across this one. I’m not normally a tea drinker, but this is so aromatic and relaxing! It’s interesting to see the improvements in camera quality as well as in Pai’s comfort level in front of the camera!
This tea is AWESOME! I realized when I took the pandan leaf out of the package, that it was the mysterious smell from the Asian stores I shop from! I've been trying to figure it out for a looooong time lol! I already love lemongrass, & also ginger tea which we drink a lot of in the Caribbean. I'm feeling addicted already. :-)
This is delicious! i started making this whenever I make something that needs only the tenderest parts of lemongrass, as I always seem to have a few pandan leaves in the freezer. Thanks!
Hi pai, in srilanka lots of pandan leaves and lemongrass, i never here befor thise ingredients can use for tea, i will share with my friends, thank you so much gor your har worked!!
Julie Than - You can actually freeze lemongrass and it stores quite well frozen. I am lucky that in Australia our climate means we can have lemongrass all year round but you can freeze and I have used it frozen before. I usually take the ends off , put it in a plastic bag and straight in the freezer. Thaw it out as you would thaw anything out.
Pai - the best tea I have EVER had was at check-in at a small hotel in Cambodia. It was just Pandan tea. I tried to get the recipe but the chef's wouldn't give it to me....bumma!
For those who want to use the pandan leaf as an air freshener in their cars, here's a very important tip - If the weather is hot, change them very often. Pandan leaf starts off aromatic when fresh but stinks when it dries up. When you smell it all the time, the stench doesn't strike you, but others will notice it right away.
Always thought of cooking thai cuisine< but seems complicated, but watching PAI video which is super, will try out some of her recipe with confidence. thank you PAILIN.
Thank you for the tip of smashing/scoring the Lemon Grass before cutting it into pieces. Gives you more lemon flavor, right? When simmering the tea, shouldn't you have a cover on the pot?
In Trinidad (Caribbean), lemongrass is known for its cooling properties. In fact it is also called Fevergrass because it helps to cool the body and break fevers when brewed into a tea.
Hi! She generally suggests not using dried or powdered ingredients like this if you can help it as they lose their flavour and aroma over time - but if you have to (and sometimes there is no other option), then you'll have to experiment with the amount as each batch will be different. Cheers! Adam
@fongjamesfong thanks so much. Unfortunately, I don't have fresh pandan where I live so I bought some dried from Bangkok. I'm experimenting for sure, to get that wonderful flavor.
@@thehabeshaherbalista Yes it's pretty hard to get hold of the real thing isn't it? Does this help at all? hot-thai-kitchen.com/locate-a-thai-grocer/ Otherwise have fun with the experimentation! :)
Hi Adam here and she usually recommends against using dried pandan leaves as they tend to lose their flavour and aroma very quickly - so here's a list of shopping locations for Thai ingredients put together by fans if it helps at all? hot-thai-kitchen.com/locate-a-thai-grocer/ Otherwise you can try buying the leaves online :) Cheers and good luck!
Hello! Love your videos. I wish you would make the butterfly pea tea, and I have a quick question. There is a particular tea that Thai people make that I see in Thai series. It's suppose to be very healing. (Nam Bai Bwoh Boke) What is that plant in English? And that would be cool if you had a recipe for that as well :) keep up the good work!

Pai - the best tea I have EVER had was at check-in at a small hotel in Cambodia. It was just Pandan tea. I tried to get the recipe but the chef's wouldn't give it to me....bumma!
It's probably just this minus the lemongrass :)

In Trinidad (Caribbean), lemongrass is known for its cooling properties. In fact it is also called Fevergrass because it helps to cool the body and break fevers when brewed into a tea.

Bai Bwao Bok (ใบบัวบก) = Gotu kola, Asiatic pennywort, Indian pennywort in English Ma'am.
Hey! New subscriber here :) Love your channel! Can I use Pandan extract instead of the leaves since I can't find it fresh where I live?
JinxedKaetzchen I find the extracts tend to taste a bit artificial...so I wouldn't recommend it for tea, but it's okay used in desserts.
How do I store lemongrass in the fridge? Do I have to chop it or could I just throw it in.
Julie Than you can freeze it
I like to put pandan leaves in my car 😊
Can you just use the lemongrass leaves or do you need to use the whole thing?
Thanks
you can just use the leaves. Just take more leaves (maybe 8-10)
What does the ginger do to the tea?
Victoria Bischert It would give it subtle spiciness and refreshing flavour notes.
I wish it was easier to get fresh Pandan here hoho. Simple tea❤
Please make chicken pandan 😢
