- I made it to Barcelona! I will be studying as an exchange student at ESADE, a business university outside of Barcelona, Spain for five months until May. I am so excited to be here living in a new city, and I wanted to share a bit about the program (auf Deutsch of course). Our orientation is tomorrow, but I will go over the program, how many exchange students there are etc. ALSO I tell a quick story about how awful my flight and travels to Europe were haha! Glad to be back, but the trip from the US is always packed with troubles. Looking forward to filming more videos about ESADE, traveling, Spain vs Germany and more soon!!

Who am I?
My name is Montana Showalter, and I was a participant in the Congress Bundestag Youth Exchange program in 2019-2020. I started my UA-cam channel while living in Germany and continue to make videos on German vs American culture. I love finding aspects of German culture in the US as well as producing videos in German as practice! In the future, I hope to live abroad again :)

Welcome back to Europe Montana. Have fun. Barcelona is one of my favourite travel location, because I had the opportunity to explore Barcelona with a german friend of mine who lived there for about 6 years. So I saw more than a normal tourist , the real Barcelona. I met some frinds of her. They were so nice. When we were toghether they all spoke English because I can't speak spanish and her friends can't speak German. It is so nice when spanish people talk togehter in English that I can follow and be part of the conversation. And you will love the mediteran lifestyle, it's like southern hospitality in the US.

Kann es sein, dass deine Kamera einen Pixelfehler o.ä. hat? Etwas rechts der Mitte ist die ganze Zeit so ein heller Punkt zu sehen.

Ein Glück, dass du das Wasser-Problem im gut organisierten Flughafen München hattest. Beim Umsteigen in London Heathrow hat mich eine im Handgepäck vergessene Flasche Sonnenmilch mal mehrere Stunden gekostet. Eigentlich war ich natürlich selbst Schuld, aber mit Jetlag nach 40 wachen Stunden war die Umbuchung am Flughafen dann trotzdem nervig. ;)

Gute Entscheidung für Barcelona! Wen Du so schnell und gut Spanisch lernst wie Deutsch, dann fühlst Du Dich dort bald genauso heimisch wie inzwischen in Deutschland!

Make sure your neck is OK from that accident. Depending on the weight of the backpack, you might suffer a spinal trauma. If you have neck pain still after few days better see a doctor.

Now it's clear! You have to train your dramatic appearance!!😳 I can clearly see an upgrade or bonus miles as a result of that "damoclestic backpack" accident!! 😈 Your headaches, stiff neck and stress syndrom the following 2 or 3 days. 😉 1st.💺 Here she's comes....😂
Smart decision to visit different places for different experiences. If your "german - love" is big enough almost nothing can change it. So search for the sake of searching ("swiping") is, in my oppinion as fatal as concentrating only on a single thing, then realizing
one day that there's more and you have to say to yourself: if only i had.... To find the perfect balance between, is one of big tasks on your way of life. It's hard and exciting, but at the same time fullfilling and valuable.🙂
Two places nearby worth visiting:
Botanic garden in Blanes, directly at the steep coast.
And Montserrat Monastery in the mountains. Reachable from Barcelona by train and rack railway (60 + 20 min).
