Subscribed as soon as I heard your voice. The first ever song I taught myself on guitar was part 1 during lockdown. I did it by watching cover videos like yours really closely at 1/4 speed. Thank you for uploading this and for doing such a wonderful job! I'm learning this now so I can play both parts together. 🤍💫🙏😊
The first song I learned was also during lockdown, and it was parachute! Part 1 was one of the firsts as well :)) part 2 was hard for me but very rewarding, I'm glad this could help you!! ♥️
This video got recently recommended to me, and I'm never dissapointed to click on music videos because I know this world can bring the best of us when it comes to show how good we can be at anything we practice. You really killed it, nice job at doing this, your voice really fits this perfectly.
Thank you so much, this is so nice!! This one took a lot of practice for sure, especially since this was one of the first complicated songs I tried playing on the guitar (other than parachute by covet).
This is so good! I'm about half way through learning pt 1 by ear (not looking up any tabs right now because I'm stubborn) but I'm DEFINITELY gonna be using your tab for this one. Thanks so much for sharing, you did a fantastic cover! 😁
Thank you! Learning by ear is a great way to learn, I'm stubborn that way as well and I find that tabs online, esp with Yvette songs, have a lot of mistakes more often than not. I'm glad that you'll use the tabs though :)
Wow, awesome job!! Extra kudos for doing a "proper" cover of one take singing and playing simultaneously; super impressive. Thanks also for your work transcribing the song and for sharing it. A few years ago I got maybe 60-70% of the way through transcribing "Blossom" from the same EP, but I wasn't gonna cover it or anything so I guess I just stopped. You've inspired me to finally get off my butt and finish it (hopefully sometime soon, lol).
Thank you so much!! It was definitely hard to sing and play. I found that transcribing songs was a really good way for me to learn them, even if I don't post them or anything. I really appreciate people who post their tabs for free so I thought I'd do the same :) blossom is also a very beautiful song - I plan on learning all her songs from both acoustics eps!!
Wow, insane performance! Your cover is so calming, congratulations for achieving to sing at the same time! I have learned the part one but I am unable to sing at the same time it seems impossible!
i love your covers so much! you totally got me way more into Yvette's music. with that i saw that her other project Covet was touring and i was able to see them recently. so thank you for showing me!
I missed them when they came to my city!!!!! I was so upset, would've loved to see them play live. Absolutely love her work in both her solo project and covet, my guitar improved the most when I learned a bunch of her stuff.
@@mkultrapigeon thats amazing! im so curious about your process with transcribing and learning these songs! also oh my god, their last show this tour was in a pizza restaurant i wish i went to that show so badly can you imagine. i hope you get to see her one of these days
@@bbaron1 pizza + covet!! unbeatable duo. Yeah, her next tour for sure i'm getting tickets re: transcribing/learning, usually I look up her live versions and watch her fingering. For main melodies, transcribing usually goes pretty fast but sometimes yvette just goes so dang fast that I have to listen to the same part repeatedly until i get the notes down and find them on the fretboard, and then see if it lines up with where her hand is on the fretboard. I remember for this one, I had two videos going to compare + repeatedly listening and rewinding on spotify. But it wasn't as hard as figuring out glimmer, I was just rewinding one video + spotify but I think that one took so long because it's a hard song and it goes super fast. Playing the videos on a slower speed is iffy because it distorts the notes a lot, which is esp bad when there are so many in one go LOL. I didn't even bother tabbing out glimmer because by the time I was done learning it was so ingrained in my head - whereas I've forgotten some fingering now, I remember all the notes and the relative position on the fretboard so I can still figure it out now :)
@@mkultrapigeon wow that is some 200 IQ stuff. its so cool how you do all that and give out tabs for free to everyone. i love trying to play along even though it takes me like an hour to play the first 5 seconds of some of these haha. im going to try and use your methods maybe but on something far for simplified haha. ive been trying to get into transcribing myself but i dont even know where to start. but your method makes sense. my theoretical knowledge is so weak so i always have a hard time with that stuff. i grew up as a drummer and then later playing piano but i swear i still somehow have almost zero technical knowledge :/ but i can count to 4! lol. you seem like you have been playing music for a long time. i think i saw a comment on one of the videos and you said you had only been playing guitar for like 2 years or so. that is sooo wild how dedicated you must be to have become this good! amazing work
@@bbaron1 i'm always going to give out tabs for free - it feels wrong tabbing someone else's song out and getting paid for it. Also, I think knowledge should always be free :) I think the hardest part with transcribing is when you don't know what the tuning is. Besides that, the easiest thing is to just physically mirror the video until it sounds like the video LOL I grew up playing piano and a tiny bit of violin since I was a kid, and I've learned all the theory but I've forgotten it all - only things I remember are major/minor scales, major/minor/seventh chords, and that's it. But I feel like I don't use any of that - I don't know any chords that I play, I just fumble around the fretboard until I hear something that sounds good to me. Drumming is super useful though, it really helps with your rhythm! My rhythm sucks :) esp in this video, I cringe hearing it because I go fast and slow all the time. Yeah I've been playing guitar for 2 years (happy 2 year anniversary to my guitar that I'm now selling, got it Jan 9 2021), but I've played everyday, half an hour at least but somedays around 2 hours broken up. I think the key is to just play consistently
I didn't even notice this cover existed, great job! It's always fun comparing tabs since I also learned this by ear / using videos and your interpretations are super cool. I'm the one that made the songsterr version before someone changed the first 2 minutes out from under me lol
