Watching this cover actually really helped me cover this song. Playing by ear was just too confusing and when I went to tabs, there were like 4 guitar parts. I was all around confused as shit 😂
Excellent cover! Great tone and video quality, good perspective, one shot recording (no unnecessary cuts and effects). It would be awesome to see more covers of this album. Subscribed.
@@Plaguework Have recently discovered this video and your channel in general! I loved this cover and I would be stoked to see more covers of Rivers of Nihil, especially if you could do Hollow - one of my fave tracks. Cheers!
i have probably watched this like 80 times just trying to learn this song from your playthrough and at this point i sincerely wish you had fretboard inlay XD great job figuring this song out man; i'm doing my best to tab it based off this video. drums and bass are going to be a nightmare though... wish me luck \../
Haha right on man! Well if you really want the tabs, Rivers of Nihil did release an official tab book for this album! I believe it's on sheethappenspublishing.com along with tons of other official books.
May I ask as a beginner guitarist how you get such great clean sounds and a great tone from your guitar? Is it amp settings? Is it years of skill? Is it better equipment that I refuse to buy until I get better? All I get is reverb and choppy sounds lol. I need some help
man that first chord is a lot harder than I expected for the fingering position, any tips or things to practice to help my hand position? I keep getting dead notes in my chord because of my position, I just can't for the life of me stop my 'muscle memory', any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!
Thanks man! I believe I was using the Ernie Ball Heavy Top Skinny Bottom 8 String set, which is .80 - .09. Thing is, I was only using the bottom 7 strings due to the tuning of the song. So it was more like .64 - .09. If you look for it, it's an orange pack from them.
Thanks man! I actually bought the official tabs before doing this cover. They’re at Sheet Happens Publishing. Just toss that in google and it’ll come right up.
How did you reached their same sound? I've got just my guitar and my Amp (Line6 Spider V60) and i am trying to get the song's sound but I can't! I've of course already dropped F# my guitar tune
Cristian Really I just used the TSE X50 plugin inside Ableton with very little EQ. The TSE plugin models a 5150 I believe so that would be a good start. One thing I’d recommend for you on that line 6 is to avoid the Insane setting and don’t be afraid to try something lower gain. They aren’t using a ton of gain on this album. Also keep the Mids up pretty high. Helps the guitar cut. Hope this helps a little!
Sounds awesome dude.
Appreciate it man! Thanks for the music!

Ugh, that little riff transition around 3:24 gets me every time. Great fuckin' cover with great tone. Really well done, man.

Thanks! I'm considering doing A Home, but we'll see.

Damn dude, this is sick. I'm going to start learning "A Home" this week, hopefully post a video by mid January
Keep it up man, I love your videos.
Hey, do you have a tab for the "A home"? Could you share it if you have it?
@@Neyma666 you can pirchase the electronic tab book online somewhere. I dony have it though
Thanks a ton! Hit me with a reply on here when you get that uploaded so I can check it out. That song crushes. I considered doing it as well!
Great job dude! Best one I've seen so far!
Thanks man!
William Terres The Faceless shirt gives the extra points too!

Same it's a nightmare of a chord lol
Okay this is epic
Awesome job, I just subbed.
What string gauge are you using? .10?

Awesome cover dude! Where did you find the tab? Whole song sounds on spot!

@@Plaguework Nice! On my way to check it out! Thanks!
Awesome tone! Great job! Can you tell me the tuning for all the strings for this?
Thanks! The tuning for this track is Drop F#, so the strings would be the following on a 7 string guitar: F# C# F# B E G# C#
@@Plaguework thank you
Really great, do you have any tabs? :)
you can buy the official ones off of sheet happens publishing :) I don't know about unofficial ones, you can always check ultimate guitar though

Dokken solo
Drop F# on an 8 string?? Did you tune it up, and if you tuned it down what was the eighth string tuned to? Just curious
Young Flapjacks Never touched the 8th string actually! I just tuned down the top 7 strings. Worked fine considering the scale length on the guitar.
@@Plaguework yeah I guess the longer scale length works well with the tuning, great playing btw!
