sound design is really easy to overlook when you're starting out but it's really important. especially considering that blind people COULD ACTUALLY PLAY THIS if you had good spatial sounds. you should really consider adding sounds so blind people could actually play it.
ayo also rad content, loving your channel so far.
So true, I really should. Audio makes a world of difference. I didn't want to just download sfx off the internet and throw them in. So I left audio out completely which is pretty ironic considering the premise of the game. But pitching audio based on timescale would be really cool. Imma look into it. 😄😄
and thank you for watching 👍
@@LowLevelLemmy 2.0 gonna be special
@@LowLevelLemmy I’m not sure if it would be possible, but perhaps you could implement some kind of vibration/Rumble technology to help get information through a different sense? Either way I really liked this idea and the editing was great, good luck man

Also LLL: Forgets you can't read 2D braille
also cant read brail through a screen if your blind
I'm blind and I can read it really well, the game is super fun!
He probably knows and that is the joke
r/wooooosh
How do you read the round and score?
You would need a monitor that can display braile though.
In theory this shouldn't even be too hard if you replace the "lightbulbs" (idk what the computer term is), with pins that can poke out of the screen. You could probably also make it so that the pins poke out more or less to differentiate between different things.
Also because the render distance is so limited you need to add a map with the players location, loot boxes, spawnpoints and maybe all of the enemies.
You could also add a ping funktion, that makes every enemy make a noise ( like a radar).
It would also be cool to have different difficulties.
Easy: every enemy is frozen and gets spawned in in a random location every round
Normal: idk just normal
Hard: time doesn't freeze, but just moves very slowly when you aren't moving
Ultra hard: time doesn't slow down at all
You could give yourself additional challenges by not using the features I proposed above.
But again, you would have to build that screen first.
braile screens exist
ngl i dont think you should touch a screen that pokes you everywhere you touch at 24 to 60 times per second lmao
@@longa2715 “Hold on i got to touch the screen real quick”

Pretty sure they are called pixels

speech to text programs exist.
Blindness is also not a "one size fits all" thing, some blind people may be able to see text on a screen, but only if it is enlarged.
my uncle is actually blind, he sometimes play mortal kombat with me (and i loose sometimes lmao, he is actually good) but dude, i think you should do an actually audio game for blind people, it will be so cool, and i will be very happy if my uncle could play something actually good, because the most audio games sucks, something simple and fun will be the best shot. if you want some feedback from some game like that, my uncle could give to you, we will be happy with that, he misses videogames. (when he was a kid he could see a little bit, he used to play CS 1.6 in lan houses, and football manager with a magnifying glass in the computer, but now, he can´t play anything, just shit audio games, but you of course could do a good audio game.)
How many times did he win to you in mortal kombat?

Ay wait a sec-
honestly you deserve a lot more subs your editing is amazing and your videos are entertaining
Thank you, it means a bunch
Bro a horror game with that style would be so fucking amazing
its really satifying to touch the pc while playing it, and feel the enemy in braille.
I actually did make an fps for blind people in highschool. Wasn't nearly as complicated lol but sound was hella important
"ah yes I can feel this light on my screen with such precision"
Let's say that they were completely blind. Then they can't read Braille on the screen LOL Braille is meant for people to read with their fingers. How are they supposed to read a television screen with their fingers? What they should do for blind people in video games is use sound cues.
heres the thing, blind people dont just see black, their vision is probably just VEEEEEEEERY blurry.
That's the joke
ohhhhhhhhhhh
I do have a question tho, sure the game is in braille, but isn't braille bumps that the blind person touches in order to read it? Could someone explain, how this would work, to me? If its not a problem? Also cool video 😊
To make it suitable for blind people you can add sounds to all interactables (enemies included) that get louder the closer you are, and the closer your reticle is to them
i hope dani recovered from that
like holy muck that looked painful
my god this dude is CRIMINALLY underated
Your voice makes it sound like you're always on the verge on crying
Ah yes blind people that can read brain without dealing it… genius, you are smart good work
Man, I gotta tell you, I haven't found content I loved so much in a long time!! You've made a long time follower in one video (if you continue making vids, which I hope you really do!!) Your jokes are great, edits are hilarious, content interesting, and strangely, what made me add this comment was the Jawa sound effect, it's one of my favorite goofy noises and it doesn't get used enough lol. Anyways, I'm rambling, but to boil it down, you are awesome man! Super glad I stumbled onto you and I'm grinning waiting for an upload already 🤘
"My code is just a bunch of if statements and spaghetti."

I cannot tell if the braille part is a joke or not. On one hand, he doesn't seem stupid, but on the other, he kinda believes in it. Your sarcasm has reached new levels, friend. Congrats.
This channel deserves more subs than it has currently 🤣
bro really made "super blind zombies" lmao love ur vids lemmy
9:15 what's the sound called
From fnaf
Blind person: ye let me just get my reading glasses,
Sound based laser-pointer gun. Frequency should change based on distance like sonar when you're facing an enemy, wall, near wall, stairs, etc.. to allow a blind user to build an auditory map of the world they're playing in. If the tone of the laser changes when you're aiming at a snipers head in-game, the blind user will know when and where to aim and shoot. Would be extremely satisfying I would think.
Damn bro, you’ve inspired me so much to become a coder to help the blind.
This video inspired me to become blind
these are one of the many times I DONT regret clicking on a video in my recommended
I always hate when fixing another bug, another one occurs in term. It's so annoying and you're basically locked in a cycle that only ever ends in either death or your frustration.
I was surprised to see this after recently being visually impaired thinking this was serious and wondering how this is possible until I realized it was not. Still a fun vid tho, love the editing
Now all we need is a blind playthrough of the game...
i'll excuse myself out

"I made a song for deaf people"
Bro made such a good game UA-cam thought it was half life💀
watched this in vr whilst chilling in bed
they still can't play bcoz brail notes & books are physically shaped and we can't modify pc screen shape w/ code or program so what you can do is make it visible according to LIGHT VALUE
As a blind person this is the best game I have ever *seen* in my entire life
congratsulations
I like this! Would have been cool if you had each enemy emit a quiet musical note or something and have it panned relative to where the zombies are. Remove the vertical aiming axis and blind people could actually play it.
Where the fu3k did this guy come from? This content is amazing and homeboy has blown up!
I Put this in my steam library and gave it a custom image and logo, this game deserves to be on steam (with a few tweaks like sound and model design)
what i was expecting was for you to use a space filling curve to fill in each pixel, then for each pixel calculate the distance from the scene to the camera, then with that turn it into a sound and play it.
thanks for using the slo mo guys ambience when you slowed down cod zombies
Sure, make a game that has no sound for blind people, they will absolutely love it!
I wish more people and companies tried their hands at stuff like this, I think is so cool and wholesome trying to make video games accesible to as many groups of people as possible, you're doing a great job and I hope you get recognized for it
altho this game still needs more work to be truly accesible but I think enough comments already pointed this out and proposed ways to fix it, but still is a great thing
I mean, the blind part is a joke in this vídeo, actually without proper sound no blind people could play that, the blind could not touch braile on the screen cause is 2d, even if it could, the way he did it, is kinda unreadable
@@CaimMatouAbel yeah but I want to admire that he at least tried, also the first comment was only after my first impression lol so yeah I didn't really get the full image, my bad
@@adamkrzeslak4326 no, you're right
Actually in the future somebody will actually see this video and weirdly get inspired to do for real
Try making this but with sounds. So different sounds indicate ur looking at different things with the volume of these sounds indicating the distance
sure do love reading brail off of a screen with my fingers
this would be really interesting if you made it layable on a braille display
You deserve so many more subscribers. I just found your channel now and your content is great, you obviously put in a lot of work!
That’s honestly a really cool idea but technology isn’t advanced enough to allow you to read virtual Braille. If you use this finished gameplay but give the zombies a constant noise that headphones can track, the slowed down effect can allow blind people to locate the zombies and shoot them before they get killed.
"Anyways this map is an obama nation." 4:30 Grilled cheese obama sandwich.
don't worry, I've been trying to learn unity for 6 years straight and still haven't the slightest clue on how to do anything whatsoever
not the slo-mo guys audio at the end lmaoooo
"Glock? More like.." co- "block!" yeah totally
Blind person when they play this game: I WANTED TO PLAY MULTIPLAYER BRUH.
This guy is the kind of guy to look up and down when crossing the road. 💀
i love you keep making videos!!! you have great ideas!
When you said, we're implementing COD zombies, I heard the music, and thought it was bouta be Fist Bumb from Sonic Forces
A game for the blind with no sound… ok makes sense
This is amazing vid! Keep up the good work!
You could use sound to indicate where the enemies are or where other objects are. Like maybe the closer they are to you, the higher pitch the sound. Different items would make different sounds.
Quake actually does have a source port for blind people from like the 90s, called “audio quake”. Recently it got a huge update, never saw anyone talk about it ever until I saw it on a wiki some day
- why did i actually thought of a game that's a enemy sound based shooter? damn...
I think ill play this next time I leave my eyes on the counter and cant find them. thanks LLL
I think this could actually be playable by the blind with an audio system. Maybe a Higher or lower pitched sound mean something is infront or behind you, and the sound could have lower or more vibrato if its coming from the left or right, and obviously louder as it gets closer. Its not flawless but it works right?
Even using unreal with blocks and spaghetti as opposed to C++, it took me MONTHS to produce a good TPS/FPS
Thank you for the sourc code when I make a 3d game definitely going to steal it
Those graphics look like something outta a retro horror game
Nacht der Untoten (german)= Night of the undead.
Zombie Verrückt (german, but makes no sense) = Zombi crazy,
Shi no numa (japanese?) = City swamp,
Der Riese (german) = The giant
It was a long time since I laughted that much, thanks :D
That was kind of a jerk move.
I was expecting to you to create a full sound driven fps and I was very interested on that idea because that could actually be useful to blind people.
They do this stuff already with cameras hooked up to electrode-patches in your mouth.
This guy sounds like he’s about to cry all the damn time
still not sure how blind people are gonna play this
If someone could make a tactile screen that renders the image in bumps that a blind person could touch, this would be the in-box title for it lol
You're right, blind people can read braille, but braille is literally a rough surface, which you don't make by putting an flat image on a flat screen, so blind can't feel these roughnesses, so they can't read braille that you made.
You could make a sound that goes up when you point it at an enemy.
I must have clicked the subscribe button accidentally or your content was so good I subconsciously pressed it, because I don't remember subscribing 🤔

proceeds to put seconded channel as the first link.
What a lovely gentleman not adding sound so the deaf aren't missing out on anything too :)
I see this video, I see the gaming thing say half life 1998 but besides that everything goes normal until I see 8:50 and i'm dying
I thought he would at sound or something when your mouse hovers over the enemies, but I guess this works. Good job!
i dont know if this was an intentional joke but the fact that you didnt put any sounds and sound cues into the game is hilarious for me
As a blind person, its good to see games like that
I imagine blind people will be so exited to see this videos
Makes a game for blind people and miss the most important thing: S O U N D
I feel betrayed but at the same time… what was I expecting
you can make game beep when you are aimed at enemy so blind people can know when they are aimed at enemy

Omg thx so much this’ll be so useful since I’m blind
Braille on a flat screen. Of course, why didn't I think of that!
ikr, hes so smart
I’m not even sure if you are a good developer, but whatever your doing, it’s working. (I think if u made a vr game it would be fun… oculus and steam lol I’m only suggesting)
You could have inserted your voice into the game so whenever they look at something, it’s just you describing what it is. “It’s a wall I guess idk I don’t get paid for this” “well shit that’s a zombie” “FUCKING MYSTERY BOX LETS GOOOOOOOO” “damn bro you died… get good”
