I just watched this and your great sinc video. Loved them❤❤❤. So how are you mounting your radio and antennas on your Toyota? Now let's do some videos on that. And while your at it, RV Wagon Master style, let's do your walk around and tour of your new RV with hookups. Aaaaand, Let's get Kenworth Kim, to do like Sam does and do the tour with you. Come On Man!😅😅
I was used to a road devil mic and when I use the stock president mic I was told I sounded like I had way to much base. I then stopped speaking directly into the mic and that cleared it up. I watched your video on the digital mic and I liked the way it sounded. I will probably pick one up one of these days.
I have tried many of my favorite power mics and I will tell you that the DIGIMIKE is the only way to go. Very clean and dynamic audio through the DIGI. I'm a huge Turner Fanboy and for this radio (I hate to say) no power mic sounds as good and clear as the DIGIMIKE. NOTE..... This pertains to the GEORGE FCC, McKINLEY as well.
I have to agree with the DIGIMIKE and I have two of those, one on my President Richard and Ronald, I have both set at 3 and it does it’s thing especially on both radios, I’m starting to get more interested with the Washington as I see more reviews on it but considering it is a 10 & 12 meter radio I’m assuming it needs a jumper or resistor on the board to add the 11 meter?
13:23 i know those fans are they in older pc from 90'searlly 2000's for cpu fans those are 12votts or 3.7 votts you can hook any pc fan to it they also in laptops too.

I been running the Geroge FCC in the semi truck for a few months. I own a KL503HD. On the bench, is a perfect pair . I own a KL703 also, 30watts in gets 500 out, So on a 80watt radio turned down too run ether amps, VS the Geroge FCC which slips right in there to drive ether amps is a win. I haven't ran power wires in the semi truck to run both George FCC and the KL503, fairly new truck also, so working with that also... UDX15117 Colorado wavin'
The modifiable 10 meter radios never have weather band and alert features. ONLY the "street legal" 11 meter only rigs have that feature. Since I drive an 18 wheeler, I only like the street legal radios because of the weather alert feature. I have a President McKinley in my truck and the weather alert feature has saved my bacon too many times to count. The alert feature sounds kind of like a police siren and it will wake me up in the bunk. It then automatically plays the weather channel that sent the alert without hitting a single button. FYI the feature scans all 7 weather frequencies for alerts. I never turn the radio or the feature off!
From what I have seen there are some board layout similarities, however the President is overall different. If you remember the old UNIDEN board layouts were used by other companies. Same difference.
can you widen up the bandwidth on RX? it says 300hz to 3000 but I wasnt hearing much low end on my signal. the NRC doesnt explain much other than 01 to 04. I think the stryker 955 you can drop the low end down and get some lows. what ever you do, stay away from the ranger line. total drifty garbage and crunchy ssb audio. particular the x9hp but I say they all suck even the new 2990's
It has been a few years since I have had a Stryker on the bench. So I cant tell you for sure. I would guess they are close. That Stryker is a killer rig
It is loaded with some very cool features like the fan control and temperature monitor. There are a few I don't care about and will more that likely never use. This rig is NOT a hopped up 980. The face plates look similar but thats it.
The 980 has been around for what, 16 years now? That's gotta be a record. I can't think of any other radio that's been in production that long besides the DX2547. It's the same layout and the same size and is the perfect replacement for the old 980.
Use the kpo power mic or the zagetti power mic. And put the mic setting on 1 so you can use the amplification of the mic.and not over drive the radio. You can he then in an 8 pin ready to plug in.
Makes sense, I'm going to try that. The radio has a whopping AMC circuit so I must try. I didn't think about this as I;m still stuck in the 70s:) Radio wise that is.
Only mistake is calling it the Washington as President Washington was a base station then the Uniden Washington. There is a jumper that you need to move to turn on the 11 meter CB. There is no euro version as it is the same radio & is sold as a amateur radio like the President Lincoln II+ which is being discontinued. -73's
I had some truckers that wanted some, after checking all modes & functions before selling them I felt bad. Just awful.... It was hard to look them in the eye when they came in to get them. This radio is way better. WAY better. IMHO
President could do a lot better than this. The user interface needs to be more simple! Period! This is a mobile radio... Are you watching the road, or looking at a damn disco dance on the front of your radio... The designers must rarely if EVER use a radio in their vehicles. "whiz-bangs"... All we need is decent quality, simple interface, and reliability. All the jib jab is for hammy hams.
I gave the review a LIKE and a virtual LIKE for that radio. 😃
Thank UDX-131
Nice looking radio
Thanks for the video and greetings from England 🙂
Thanks for stopping by sir.

If you do the 11 meter conversion, can you still use it on 10 & 12 meter too?
yes

Great SD Tune.
I have never heard anything but static . Nobody's there

Can’t argue with good and that new mic makes it a nice match up , 👍
Is there any different between the "George" and the "washington" models?
Just power and exrra channels mostly
Power, channels and that cool temperature monitoring circuit. There are some others but of zero importance (IMHO)

13:40 solder dont melt till 250C but most chips die about 110C so 80C isnt too bad but thats smoking hot on the touch test
they say 175C on the finals but I say 120C is gonna start hurting it
My talkback is on #9 but it sounds very low and on USB it sounds less. Is there an option to turn up the volume more? thank you
find a old GE hand mic with the gray key button that curves around the top, they sound real good on the new chinese style radios
Hello, what i must do to send in CB mode?
Have you made dx contacts with it?
Yes many contacts, I get LOTS of unsolicited complements oh how great the audio sounds. Locals says this radio kicks butt.
There won't be any good DX until the fall equinox.
We had some intermittent Skip from the West Coast today. Big signals for a few minuted then gone. Kind of fun.

It needs modification
Can someone confirm if this radio has the weather channels/weather alert? I have searched the internet, some say it does, some say it doesn't
@@jonhammes6209 No weather
I just got off the phone with my local President dealer! Confirmed, no weather.
I guess I can pick up a cheap hand held for weather alerts.

A ham radio doesn't have a channel display. Still just a tweaked CB
Actually it’s a dedicated 10 meter radio that’s converted to 11 meter as well.
