Great job on making this I have been wondering about it since i play taiwan server thanks for the info ! And i believe shield more is more viable with boss accessories by comparing to talisman.
IMO, shield priest's most important feature is the regen % from the shield (particularly lv 80 white one), the regen is quite broken for pvp, particularly if you have 2m+ hp. so you should add that in the comparison. Most of end-game priests are using shield that regen for survivabilty. Heal isn't really needed if the priest isn't tanky enough, at least in kvm / gvg context.
10:54 to 10:59 - something a lot of newbie FS priests do not understand. All they look at is their own HP. Even when low matk is pointed out to them, they just rebutt "but you can't kill me with my HP". What's the point of surviving ALONE when you CAN'T SUSTAIN your party???
what's the point of your bigger heals if you die in one burst? also are we gonna ignore how brokenly good resu is? a priest that you can't kill that can endlessly revive his team is much scarier
Hi Jadezz! I’m a bit late on the video and have recently come back to play ROX. I was wondering if there’s any compromise to my build. I’m using a Book (Lvl 59, about to become High Priest) but I’m usually solo and I’d like to focus on PvE but would somehow be good enough in a party sometimes to support.
For dps focused builds it's now better to use 1h + shield since the shadow equipment is more focused on dps for 1h. Book is more focused on support. Though you can make a hybrid (dps + support) build with book too. I would just try to get 'Secret of the Abyss' gold book asap since it's a must have for book builds.

let's say you have normally 100k HP and get a card +20% HP. You'll have 120k HP so your overall HP increased by 20%. Now let's say you have 100k HP and you get +100% HP from your gear so you have normally 200k HP. Now you add the same +20% HP card. You'll have 100k +120% = 220k HP. But 220k HP from 200k HP is just +10%. So you only got +10% HP from the +20% HP card. Same applies to shield too. The more + x% HP you get from cards or your gear the less difference the shield makes.
After seeing the shadow upgrades on Book weapon, I gave up all my progress on my 1H+Shield and proceeded to switch using book. In order to be more tanky in KVM, I switch to my 1H+Shield and lower down my sanc to compromise for haste 😂.

Thanks. No I only have a guide for all daily activities. I plan to upload videos about the build + grind areas I use for leveling at launch. So if you do all dailies + your grind you should be good to go.
i use book in my first server, then i moved to another server and change to wand and shield. personally i like book, cause i love to have more heal. but all my friends and my boyfriend keep telling me to use shield for survivalibilty in pvp. well actually i can survive too with books because when i heal my hp will full again XD . and its easier to build with books. when i use shield i need to search more atk and haste T-T, it needs a lot more money than books. but i will try to make my character good too with shield. maybe any suggestions for gameplay or items for shield to make it OP?
Send your boyfriend this video lol. You need to invest on haste and matk blue cards. If you can keep up the haste with book user shield will eventually won because they have higher hp

Hi, I'm interested in book type (just for appearance only, lol). Anyway, for white equipment set, I wonder if shield is better in long run or not. As armor refinement gives less HP increment, shield will give considerably additional HP & dmg reduction. You can focus on INT+haste enchantment/cards instead of VIT(HP, dmg reduction)+matk which is more difficult. Am I correct?
I’m following Jadez builds, Both type of priest tanks damage differently. The heal that book gives is amazing which makes a book user tanky as well. Coupled with VIT enchants and Obeaune cards, you can spam KE and sanctuary and be a wall. Shield users on the other hand, having enormous HP, the barrier that Kyrie Eleison gives them is higher but their heal is a bit lower. Their advantage is damage output from their spells as they are the DPS type. Full Support is book, DPS is wand and shield. Just my two cents.

@@isthisshortanduniqueenough I think you also need to consider the level of skill that the book can use other than the stats when we’re talking about the amount of heal. Books can effortlessly use lvl 8 to 10 sanctuary or coluceo heal which has higher MATK multipliers. Not sure how to answer your question. Maybe Jadezz can answer it better. I think Rox made it balance so that one wouldn’t be so stronger than the other… The shield users can have high INT enchants but they still need to look for ways to increase haste and final haste so that they can use high level skills as well. Book users on the other hand was gifted with haste, but what they lack is tankiness and m penetration. I think it boils down to your end game goal. Should you want to be a dps, better go with shield and staff. If you want to go full support, go with book. At the end of the day, priests are support characters and both can fulfill the role when doing objectives. The book can sustain the party better but lesser dps. The shield and staff provides decent sustain but can provide good amt of dps and tankiness. I think you just need to pick your poison.
I agree with paolo additionally you have to consider the shadow weapon skills. Shield only strengthens your own dmg. Book increase the strength of your heals and your buffs.

@@JadezzGaming 1 int increases m.atk by 4 and there are bonus m.atk for certain amounts of int (ex. 100 int gives a bonus of 20 m.atk so 24 in total) So let's say I only want to put points to get those bonus m.atk, and put the rest of the stats to vit. Would the sanc heal difference be in hundreds, thousands, ten thousands?
@@eternity449 you get 5% more matk for each 100 int. So at 2k+ int you get 8 matk from 1 int. So it depends on how much int you have. I currently have 2,5k+ int and my sanctuary heal for 100k each tick. If I switched my int to vit I would lose ten thousands.
@@JadezzGaming I don't mean to remove all the int but rather, transfer the int pts that doesn't have a major m.atk jump bonus. Ex. you have 2,452 int and the bonus is every 100 int, since the 52 int won't have a spike bonus, you will just transfer those points/enchants to vit. Would the removed 52 int amount to ten thousands?
Can we see this two build compared in GVG/KVM/MVP? I consider making a shield build and my reasoning was survivability in GVG/KVM/MVP. Even though it will heal less, we could survive more and res our teammate. Thanks for this content, great content as always!
If i prefer faster grinding and pve. I should choose 1h + shield right? The shadow equip give good bonus for 1h + shield. Most buff skills for fs has fixed cd so no need for too much haste.
Yes the buff skills have a fixed cd but a variable cd too and both are added together. So you need a lot of haste for them and especially for your attack skills (ME 40 sec cd). Btw the book shadow weapon decreases the fixed cd of your buffs.

I wanna hear ur opinion, wat is the merit and dimerit for a book user and a wand user, also who does the dps better and why is it? Cuz one of my friend kept nagging me about me using wand and recommend me to use book as a dps acolyte becuz of the haste and u can focus one of ur accessories on Matk n also becuz equipment from lvl 30 to lvl 70 doesn't have any haste apart from lvl 25 accessories. Also I wanna why is that 1 hand wand user acolytes do a better job being a dps rather that book user?
I'm a 1h+shield user too, my friend mocking me for that, lol, in my opinion, book were more to a full support style and become tanky if buffed with high hp armor set, because book has haste/vigor alone, so you can focus on vit acc and spam skill. As for 1h+shield, the rod has m.atk and m.dmg%, and also can use shield with +hp and +m.dmg, so it can do more m.dmg (holy atk) but in a cost of high cd and cast, BUT you have higher HP so you can survive in hard situation like stun, etc. I hope this help

Your decision. Wand is good too and you can play it f2p too. It's just more challenging early on cause it's harder to get enough haste for your skills than with books.

Jadez are you aware of the shadow awakening of weapon and that book has FS exclusive skills while rod and shield has DPS skills? IN book awakening i saw that there is a chance angelus and assumptio can be permanent buff i mean spammable and not just 10seconds only.
If you use shield + vit accessories + vit enchants you would have 0 haste meaning you can't use your skills. So you would have to switch your tank accessories for haste ones. But Book gets enough haste by itself.

I got my whole blue set as well. But, already started to shift to gtb rings lv 25 (L&R) for haste/vigor. And soon, I will also change my staff and shield because as of now i'm just lv51 and i'm waiting for me to reach lv70 to obtain the higher staff due to price expensiveness hehe

@@muliarizky5439 yes this char is just too casual for getting more blue gear and I'm just using this char for testing stuff. So yes if you want to get the blue set (especially for Boss / MVP damage). Switching the accessories (and maybe armor) to blue can be a good option too.
Sir, some players keeps saying that i have to use wand+shield for gvg/pvp for survival purposes, how can you support if you're squishy. But I really want to use book.. is it possible that i can be tanky while using book?
Wand is only for dps builds. You'll have more heal with books which increases your survivability too. In fact tank builds only really work with books imo cause you need the haste you get from books. You can increase your survivability with the valkyrie set by a lot.

Hey Jadezz, question. I already got my valk set to +2, +2, +3, My upgrades are 100 Book, 50 All armor, 25,25 Acce, 15 Talisman. Is it wise to put my next priority to get 3 Obeaune cards for KVM? Luckily I already got 1 last week but I still get stunlocked during PVP against 2 opponents. Current HP is 180k with buff and int vit talisman... 1k+ DEF, 30k colo heal. What do you think is the next priority I need to do? A.) Complete Enchant Awakening B.) Buy the remaining 2 Obeaune cards, or C.) Complete the +4 Refinement. My server is Heimdal, same as your 1H Priest and the price of the card is dropping as well as the mats for refining. Any suggestions? Currently have 700k crystals here, waiting to be splurged.
For example. A mob hit 1k dmg Book have 20k hp Sheild build have 25k hp who will die first ? But if Book can heal 1.1k while sheild user only heal 800 . Book will nvr die cause heal outheal the dmg while sheild will eventually die. But what if the mob deal 21k dmg? The Book will die straight away while the sheild have 4k hp left. U get my point? End of the day both priest can tank but in a different way. Being specialise is the way to go and form a team. A true tank with a true fs tgt. That when magic start to happen (:

no, not really. The only other way to compensate for the missing haste would be, to get high haste enchants, but then you would have less INT + VIT enchants.

Especially in PVP content more heal is imo more important than having more HP, cause it helps you to keep your party alive too. As a vit priest you might even reach the same or more HP with a book than with a shield cause you can focus more on vit accessories and enchants. Besides having more vit increases your defense too not only HP.

What about the awakening effect? 1H+shield gives massive boost to judex, turn undead, and holy light. Which i saw in your KVM videos are deadly for PVP. While book does not give that boost. Also by having shield, i think it means another card slot to put. We can put dmg resistance there. Lesser dmg input compensates lesser healing. Dont get me wrong. You are my priest inspiration. Especially the KVM vids. Thats why i wonder if your turn undead and judex can be deadly by using 1H+shield awakening.
For pvp I think Book would be better cause the buff bonus applied to the whole party. Shield doesn't have an additional card slot. Wand 2 card slots shield 1, Book 3.
Yea i've been playing for years. You just gotta go with your style man. Im going full int until max n then go vit. I'm using books so that def will help out a lot
@@Luna-cz6kj just go with def man..., in kvm everyone will attack priest. The longer u survive the better the chances of your team will win, cause once you die all buffs will be gone for your team, and will lose the upper advantage over the opponents. Faster haste and def is the way to go if you want to go full support. Get the Stun resist card from orc hero, myst card damage resist , etc

You can't decrease the fixed cooldown only variable cd.
For solo player , play only raid / world boss / farming item. Which one should i choose?

Sanctuary depends on matk so yes there's a huge difference. A vit book build will have far more HP (and especially more def) than an int shield build.

@@eternity449 you get 5% more matk for each 100 int. So at 2k+ int you get 8 matk from 1 int. So it depends on how much int you have. I currently have 2,5k+ int and my sanctuary heal for 100k each tick. If I switched my int to vit I would lose ten thousands.
@@JadezzGaming I don't mean to remove all the int but rather, transfer the int pts that doesn't have a major m.atk jump bonus. Ex. you have 2,452 int and the bonus is every 100 int, since the 52 int won't have a spike bonus, you will just transfer those points/enchants to vit. Would the removed 52 int amount to ten thousands?

If i prefer faster grinding and pve. I should choose 1h + shield right? The shadow equip give good bonus for 1h + shield. Most buff skills for fs has fixed cd so no need for too much haste.

Yes the buff skills have a fixed cd but a variable cd too and both are added together. So you need a lot of haste for them and especially for your attack skills (ME 40 sec cd). Btw the book shadow weapon decreases the fixed cd of your buffs.
I will use Book for sure !! Haste is really important at an early stage for grinding and instances

for full tank can't you just build the same way as book priest, but just use a lvl80 white shield memory tome for the haste?
You'll still get far less haste than with book, penetration is kinda useless for full tank too and the shadow weapon skills are only dps focused.

I wanna hear ur opinion, wat is the merit and dimerit for a book user and a wand user, also who does the dps better and why is it? Cuz one of my friend kept nagging me about me using wand and recommend me to use book as a dps acolyte becuz of the haste and u can focus one of ur accessories on Matk n also becuz equipment from lvl 30 to lvl 70 doesn't have any haste apart from lvl 25 accessories. Also I wanna why is that 1 hand wand user acolytes do a better job being a dps rather that book user?
I'm a 1h+shield user too, my friend mocking me for that, lol, in my opinion, book were more to a full support style and become tanky if buffed with high hp armor set, because book has haste/vigor alone, so you can focus on vit acc and spam skill.
As for 1h+shield, the rod has m.atk and m.dmg%, and also can use shield with +hp and +m.dmg, so it can do more m.dmg (holy atk) but in a cost of high cd and cast, BUT you have higher HP so you can survive in hard situation like stun, etc.

Book can go matk, 1H need haste talisman. Blue talisman is only good when you already have high level

Your decision. Wand is good too and you can play it f2p too. It's just more challenging early on cause it's harder to get enough haste for your skills than with books.

Jadez are you aware of the shadow awakening of weapon and that book has FS exclusive skills while rod and shield has DPS skills? IN book awakening i saw that there is a chance angelus and assumptio can be permanent buff i mean spammable and not just 10seconds only.
how come you say book is tank versus shield? shield are suppose to be mo tanky right?
If you use shield + vit accessories + vit enchants you would have 0 haste meaning you can't use your skills. So you would have to switch your tank accessories for haste ones. But Book gets enough haste by itself.

I got my whole blue set as well. But, already started to shift to gtb rings lv 25 (L&R) for haste/vigor. And soon, I will also change my staff and shield because as of now i'm just lv51 and i'm waiting for me to reach lv70 to obtain the higher staff due to price expensiveness hehe

How hard to refine a +4 blue compared to +6 white?
Not that hard, cause your gear can't break nor can you lose refine level below +5 but it can when refining a +4 gear.

@@muliarizky5439 yes this char is just too casual for getting more blue gear and I'm just using this char for testing stuff. So yes if you want to get the blue set (especially for Boss / MVP damage). Switching the accessories (and maybe armor) to blue can be a good option too.
Sir, some players keeps saying that i have to use wand+shield for gvg/pvp for survival purposes, how can you support if you're squishy. But I really want to use book.. is it possible that i can be tanky while using book?
Wand is only for dps builds. You'll have more heal with books which increases your survivability too. In fact tank builds only really work with books imo cause you need the haste you get from books. You can increase your survivability with the valkyrie set by a lot.

Hey Jadezz, question. I already got my valk set to +2, +2, +3, My upgrades are 100 Book, 50 All armor, 25,25 Acce, 15 Talisman. Is it wise to put my next priority to get 3 Obeaune cards for KVM? Luckily I already got 1 last week but I still get stunlocked during PVP against 2 opponents. Current HP is 180k with buff and int vit talisman... 1k+ DEF, 30k colo heal.
What do you think is the next priority I need to do? A.) Complete Enchant Awakening B.) Buy the remaining 2 Obeaune cards, or C.) Complete the +4 Refinement.
My server is Heimdal, same as your 1H Priest and the price of the card is dropping as well as the mats for refining. Any suggestions? Currently have 700k crystals here, waiting to be splurged.
I would focus on upgrades first then refine and last the cards
For example.
A mob hit 1k dmg
Book have 20k hp
Sheild build have 25k hp
who will die first ?
But if Book can heal 1.1k while sheild user only heal 800 . Book will nvr die cause heal outheal the dmg while sheild will eventually die.
But what if the mob deal 21k dmg? The Book will die straight away while the sheild have 4k hp left.

no, not really. The only other way to compensate for the missing haste would be, to get high haste enchants, but then you would have less INT + VIT enchants.

Especially in PVP content more heal is imo more important than having more HP, cause it helps you to keep your party alive too. As a vit priest you might even reach the same or more HP with a book than with a shield cause you can focus more on vit accessories and enchants. Besides having more vit increases your defense too not only HP.
@@JadezzGaming Some people recommend shield build which has higher ME damage that is good for PVP/GVG. Is it really that good? In addition, can VIT (for book build) help resist some status like stun? I'm level 42 already, but cannot decide on shadow equipment set yet.
Book increases your heals and your parties dmg so they're great for pvp too.

Usually in pvp content you're more busy keeping your party alive so imo book is best for pvp.

You can't yet. You need obeaune card to get stun immunity.

You only use book if you need haste. In later levels, you will have an access to that haste enough to not need it on a weapon.

What about the awakening effect? 1H+shield gives massive boost to judex, turn undead, and holy light. Which i saw in your KVM videos are deadly for PVP. While book does not give that boost.
Also by having shield, i think it means another card slot to put. We can put dmg resistance there. Lesser dmg input compensates lesser healing.
Dont get me wrong. You are my priest inspiration. Especially the KVM vids. Thats why i wonder if your turn undead and judex can be deadly by using 1H+shield awakening.
For pvp I think Book would be better cause the buff bonus applied to the whole party. Shield doesn't have an additional card slot. Wand 2 card slots shield 1, Book 3.

The longer u survive the better the chances of your team will win, cause once you die all buffs will be gone for your team, and will lose the upper advantage over the opponents. Faster haste and def is the way to go if you want to go full support. Get the Stun resist card from orc hero, myst card damage resist , etc
