They get 36 speakers because each one of the 90mm and 100mm Unity speakers is actually 2 in one. It's a 90mm or 100mm driver with an integrated tweeter. These type of speakers are used in a lot of Harman's other car audio systems. Plus the 3rd 170mm box is in the front center console, it's the same spot at the amplifier under item 11. That's why you get really good bass in the front.

@II DEMON II some brands like revel or AKG don't declare their wattage. That makes hard doing any comparision to the german car hi-fi. I'd really like to know more about the science beyond a sound system, that's really interesting. Anyway I'm considering to buy a car with one of these hi-fi to enjoy my +2000 flac files daily

This system is INSANE! It was also quite interesting to hear headphones via someone wearing them through my headphones (Beyerdynamics DT770). Can't say I've ever done that before. The Cadillac's headphones sound pretty good based on what your Roland binaurals can reproduce.

However audio system quality may be the determining factor for some people (me included). If I could make a suggestion -- consider adding objective cabin noise assessment to your reviews. A dB meter used on same route from car to car and at approximately same speed. It would fit very nicely with the car audio analysis theme.

You can't count speakers like that because some speakers like the ones on the door have more than one driver in them. There are also two speakers in the rear upper quarter panels that you missed.
The audio in the Blackwings have already been rebranded to AKG. They may go the Porsche route and have Bose as their base setup and AKG as the upgrade (Burmester is Porsche's upgrade)

The only think I can think of is the woofers in the front doors are 3-way? I'm not sure where else those extra speakers are. Either way, it's an incredible system.
Cadillac has suffered for years with horrible uninspired audio systems from Bose and lackluster fit and finish when it comes to interior quality, this sounds like a step in the right direction.

Thanks for the demo. Not like I'd ever get this vehicle but was interested in seeing this after someone said it had 36 speakers. I think they added 20-30 too many personally. But that's just me. Personally I'd like to see a better subwoofer. But my idea of a good subwoofer takes up more space than that tiny sub could ever dream of in a stock car. I don't need crazy bass that the neighborhood can hear. But I like a sub that can dig into the infrasonics with authority. Problem with that is you need a fair bit of space to do that and no stock system will ever do that. (Yet they'll charge you 10x the price for an interior subwoofer because they can)
There is another front woofer in the center under the console. Also the front A-pillars and rear doors have a multi-driver pod arrangement with two midrange drivers and a dome tweeter.

@@DailyMotor I went to a dealership once & test drove I think a 2012 or 2013 Lexus ES350 with the ML system. It was legit the most disappointing system ive ever heard. So much overpowering bass & not much mids & highs. Just straight up dissapointment.

You can get the shorter standard version vs the extended esv version 3. If one is single, I can think of a thing or 2 that can go on in the back seats, with extra spaces...
High fidelity audio is best thru wired CarPlay man. No one uses 3.5mm jack nor CD players anymore. Just make sure your Spotify settings are set to very high quality playback

People will definitely make adjustments to their likings, and we do that too when we're testing the systems. However, for the video, we go with default settings because 1. Everyone's preferences are different, and 2. That's how the audio engineers designed the vehicle to sound.

7:30 The other 6 is actually in the dash. Cadillac made them to look like one big speaker but the other 6 are in the dash
