The German cruisers in general get some benefit down the line. The improved pen and accuracy. . . Not epic on Yorck, but worth taking. The Americans, not so much. Those 5”/38 turrets are just there for decoration. (At least at the mid-tiers. Have not tried the skill all the way up the line.)
I can say that I got surprised in a match by a Napoli that had that skill. I managed to survive the experience, but it was shocking how much more I was getting slapped by its secondaries.
Played Napoli with new captainskills this morning. This ship has become a monster! Was Hilarious to see even battleships go into panicmode :)
Yeah, there’s nothing that can defeat the Napoli in a 1 v 1 today except maybe a CV as the Napoli can’t fight back then.
Had almost 600 secondary hit with Agir in COOP. Napoli is just stupid in such a fun way. Again just messing around in Coop, over 700 secondary hits in a single battle. Annihilated a GK at GKs own game lol. So much fun.
Gonna have to try this out!
the baiting ships deeper into your secondaries by turning them off until you’re spotted has been pretty funny. works well. napoli owners in glee
Had I known Secondary Cruisers were going to be viable again I would have bought The Pan-Asian Agir, liked the Paint Job, I like the ship and I have the Pan Asian Captain.
Please explain the commander reset procedure, specifically where to find the special buttons, and the specific differences between the two buttons.
you know it's funny now seeing all the secondary built Napolis now. Napoli as always been a good secondary cruiser even before the skills rework
I took my Napoli out today with the new secondary and torpedo buff skills. Admiral Sansonetti had a very good day destroying enemy ships...
I'll be curious what you have to say about the new dazzle skill. Ive always heard that dazzle doesnt work. Ive decided to try it on DDs because adding 20% to enemy dispersion sounds too good to be true.
I'll give them a try tonight. Been too busy going for Black gold on the BF Black ships I've gotten.
Pack a punch is still very viable in regards to Agir or Siegfried in tandem with top grade gunner but I'd only really run it with Agir since she's more of a brawler than Siegfried. Your torps on Agir are also more frequently usefull as well so I still argue its a very good skill for her to take.
I just gambled and won a Napoli b, I wasn't very excited because I reminded myself that for no good reason, cruisers can't ever have effective secondaries. So this is very welcome news.
What did you buy that dropped the Napoli?

Meh, I wish I finished the Schröder, its the one dockyard event i never finished, kinda regret that now. I really hope they reintroduce it at one point.
Extremely unlikely. They only redid the Puerto Rico because of the shitshow and being the first one. Fomo baby!

Napoli is a monster now, Agir does great too. Yesterday I took down half of Bismarck and full Baltimore just on my own, cause i have been alone on my flank.

I played a few games with Siegfred and 12km secondary does not mean anything if they dont hit anything.

@@kaollachan You have no tank but if you can get support it could be a beast. May make for a good response ship if you keep moving from hot spots or mid/late game DD chaser

Godly innacurate secondaries are back!
Yeah they can't hit SHIT! Less wargaming blesses them with built in accuracy. The only reason BB Secondaries hit anything is cus they have the "secondary targeting" skill for 4 points.
Are there any tech tree ships with good secondaries or will they develop tech tree ships with good main armaments and secondaries.

Is there a list somewhere of cruisers that would make for a good secondary build? I have the Napoli and tried the spec last night and it was fun, but this may get some other ships out of mothballs.
The obvious ones are Siegfried, Schroeder, Agir, and Napoli. Petropavlovsk and Marseille both have improved accuracy as well. Pensacola has the actual best secondary accuracy in the game, even better than Napoli's
Carnot became a fun secondary ship.
I have enjoyed this rework so far. Now just waiting for the naval battles when I get home later today and will bring in some of the cruisers to see how much pain I can let fly!
Will this also work on Hindenburg/clausewitz?
What commander to use for that? do they have any special skills?! I need a guide
In my opinion, as far as secondaries go, Pack A Punch only makes sense on the Michelangelo, Napoli, Schroeder, Marseille, and possibly Pensacola. Of those, only on the Michelangelo and Napoli is it basically a mandatory skill. The rest of the cruisers in the game don't have enough hitting power at range.
What about the Carnot?
@@leegreening6727 83% of Carnot secondary DPM are 100mm that have 16mm of pen which is not enough to even pen DD's
I know not many play operations on world of warships but I haven't seen any recommended ships for operations videos

My manual secondary is not working after this update..
My commander with 21 points have focus manual secondary but cant choose what ship will focus its secondary fire. It just says auto on the reticle.
Cant find a way to fix it so any help will be appriciated.
You should try out the Carnot, full detection secondary build, and some survivability to boot

Carnot lacks pen on it's secondaries. And to get secondary pen, you have to spec IFHE, which in turn murders your fire chance.
actually that reminds me how bout the french large cruiser line, Cherbourg, Brest and all that? I believe their secondaries has german BC secondary dispersion baked in.

I've saved up enough coal to buy the Agir or Napoli. With this rework which one should i buy? Or should i buybthe Kearsage?
Depends on your own fun requirements but Agir & Napoli are both excellent. Napoli because of the it’s rolling smoke, one of the best cruiser secondaries, tough as nails survival skills wins for me. UA-camrs all love the Kearsage though.

Anyone else think that wargaming should put a feature into the dockyard where if you complete a ship in the dockyard, you can use a certificate to get any dockyard ship that they released in the past instead. For example if your were to complete the Michelangelo dockyard but your a BB main you could exchange Michelangelo for the Odin or Hizen.

The French Large Cruisers, such as the Carnot and Marseille have a large number of secondary guns and their range is equal with German. Maybe give those a try, see how they do?
French secondaries lack pen. And to get pen damage, you need IFHE which in turn, murders your fire chance.
No marseille test?
A very goofy setup - secondary Edinburgh ;-) Weak secondaries - but they set a lot of fires while you camp in the smoke.

The letter Ö in Schröder isnt pronounced O its pronounced more like if you say a really long cheesy love. Like if you say ”im in loooooove” youll get the right sound in the long O part. Kinda the same sound people in movies make when getting stabbed ”öh”

Unfortunately yep agir is worse get yoshino(sniper/ god tier funs for a cruiser/4x4 20km shima torps) or napoli(brawler/good secs/ no main gun accuracy/2x4 9km ish torps) first then maybe get agir

That would actually be pretty nasty in ranked. I've had a lot of games close in with DD's early game and late game that extra DPS may be nice.

Curiosity got the best of me and I bought an Indianapolis to see if it really is an S tier like you say. Its not, other than radar I cant see whats special about this ship.
It can bow tank most of the same tier BBs
Your sparse armour profile encourages HE spam, your aircraft hangar is a shot trap, your turret faces reliably arm AP. But your gun performance is equivalent to Myoko and your own AP has improved pen angles while your defensive AA is deceptively strong and your area denial AA can be absolutely devasting when combined with the battleship you should be escorting. Also, you're quite sneaky and extremely agile.
American cruisers sacrifice specialization in favour of always bringing an _extra_ knife to the fight. Playstyle makes or breaks American heavy cruisers especially. If you're acting independantly, you deserve to die. You're _designed_ to be an escort and to provide supporting fire in your area of influence on targets called out by your destroyers or against targets who revealed themselves by firing on your battleships.
It's the state of the game that has made them harder to play well. The ships are fantastic for team play. Unfortunately _team_ is the operative word here and competent and/or communicative teams are a rarity these days.

@@monkeyrater A lot of player still confuse her with New Orleans. So you might be able to catch out a brave destroyer or two with your radar. Don't rely on it though. A fun party trick is only fun at parties after all.

On the other hand the game made it even less possible with these for DD and Cl to get close to actually in range , the game should buff all of their stealth capacity and defensive measure .. they are already rather ill treated with introduction of SAP, RADAR, more RADAR , longer range guns from all the big calibers and needless to say CV , SS and yet almost all of them are still basing their main defense - Stealth and Speed when there are no mad speed homing SS torp , stealth still as when there's NO radar .. well well .. obviously the game cannot spec them to be able to fire as far as the BB and they cannot made their guns able to penetrate Cruiser armor from even further away , so either they made all their torp able to travel further and hit much much more often .. but then you still had the issue of Cl that had no torps
Its about time the small ships see a major rework , right now either you mad machine gun with them or you pretty much cannot do effective ( don;t tell me about capping spotting etc etc cause this game only ever reward damage dealing )
Messing with the cruisers i have:
-Napoli: best secondary damage imo
-Agir: 2nd best secondaries
-Schroder: acurate but slower than Agir. Just could not get the same damage
-Carnot: typical French, inaccurate and fast, dont build this 😅

Napoli already overpowered, now just more so. A cruiser with smoke, torps, heal, armor, ASW, fighter -- let's add OP secondaries to that too.
T10 super cruiser, while the SAP 2ndary is an interesting gimmick, but it is no TIX Alaska.
Napoli has to charge in (and just needs to find out if she survives) to make here advantages work. Torpedo's are only area denial and even poor at that task. ASW is standard heavy cruiser ability and you must be the first one to say fighter isn't a poorest choice in a consumable slot.
It's a fine powerful ship, but quite situational and a nice addition to the line of supercruisers.

Not sure why in your Napoli footage you werent selecting targets for your 2ndaries and dont tell me it doesnt matter cause it does improve accuracy.
It doesn't for cruisers, it just helps to focus one target instead of multiple ones.

Its impressive how easy some of you guys are changing their mind. I think this update is garbage because it just improves battleships that are already strong and provides more bot gameplay with the secondary improvement. All the game issues are untouched and nobody cares.
