Exactly! That's the example I always think of. In behind the scenes videos you can find Hayden Christensen auditioning for Anakin, having one of those "romantic" conversations with Padme. And he is SO sexy and convincing in the audition! If he was allowed to play it that way, no one would wonder why Padme fell for him despite all the red flags. Hayden oozes charisma while also being a very strong actor (Life as a House is his best work). But George Lucas distinctly didn't want Anakin to be charismatic, he wanted him to be awkward and off-putting and uncool. So Hayden gave the performance George wanted. Odd last tidbit: George Lucas actually wanted different people to direct the prequels, but no one would do it. He wanted Spielberg for Phantom Menace and Martin Scorsese for one of the others. Can you imagine those movies? From Twilight to Star Wars, that's pretty much my mental trajectory.

She was like script's Bella was, i don't know who the director was and who wrote the script, but was bad adapted, i mean book's Bella wasn't super well writen, neither was Edward, but the movie made them soooo much more flat, and i honestly don't think was Robert or Kristen's fault, they did what they could with what was given to them without reading the books, that's why is important cast people who are actually fans.
She was negligent, let Bella do all the adult stuff in the house at a very young age, put a lot of weight and responsabilities on her since ever, Bella explain it in the chapter when Edward asks her things i believe, Bella's not mad about it, but Renne wasn´t a good mother at all.
The PJO actors said they had read the books in an interview yet they didn't know anything about blue food (wtf it is a very big concept starting in the first few chapers of the first book). They fucking lied. I'm not gonna say Logan is a bad actor (i love the wallflower) but he wasn't a good fit for Percy and despite what the tiktok said Percy is a very diverse, well-written character which people that have read the books know. Kristen was a decent Bella but Like Logan she wasn't the best at portraying Bella the way she was meant to be.
Unfortunately movies are movies, books are books, and movies are made from screenplays, and the movie writing for Bella was extremely awkward and bland (just the facts; from what I understand that was wholly intentional). Sounds like something similar happened for PJO. :( Sucks that the screenwriters and other movie peeps screwed up another franchise. Maybe there will be better adaptations someday. I'm always hoping for these sub-par movies to be re-adapted into a good series.
