    As Brann pointed out, there is no other grief like that over someone who'd died by suicide. My husband, beloved metalhead who introduced me to Mastodon, died by suicide September 23, 2012. Demons slain, may all who die by suicide journey through peaceful light. For Brann's Skye, for my Aric, for them all, I wish you love.

      My wife also died by suicide about the time you wrote this comment on December 26th 2019. We also lost both of her sisters 25 years earlier to suicide. There is no grief like it. Something you never recover from. I hope you have found love again.

      My hopes are that all who have experienced a loss from a suicide are thriving and doing well,it is something that one will never have closure over...

      @Lohkyn That is your opinion and apparently someone who doesn't like pink floyd very much, I however do. Pink Floyd created some of the deepest, most complex, and amazing albums ever and I hold them as one of the greatest bands to ever to produce music. That is the pedestal on which I am placing Mastodon.

      @@STLMTB I do think Pink Floyd were pioneers and musical geniuses, but actually listening to them bores me to death. Doesn't remove anything from their talent though. Basically, my point is, not liking them is fine, but saying they're bad is just blind idiocy.

    THIS is what always stood out most about the CTS album. Musically it's superb, but it runs sooo much deeper than previous records. All that pain and suffering transmuted into sonic release. Catharsis. And, in turn, the record can help others who have sadly had the same/similar experiences. So thank you, Mastodon, for having the balls to put out something like this, something that reflects the human condition so well. You can really tell that the other 3 rrrreally stepped up too, when Brann decided to explore this subject. Deserved every copy sold and more. 😏

    The song is pure emotion. Grief. Family is so important. Pure melody of tears.

    Favourite song from my favourite band. Never knew the meaning of the song until now. Fucking cried when I heard that 'Please tell Lucifer...' lyric.
    You've outdone yourselves on this one. An amazing song to commemorate her with. Anyone would be honoured, and I'm sure she would be.

    This album should be put in a time capsule and buried underneath a mountain for a future civilization to find and decipher its message. There was a civilization on the planet before the great destruction. Everything was destroyed but look what they left us. Also put a Wesley Willis album in the time capsule just to mess with their heads in the future. We can troll a whole civilization 2000 years from now.
    The time capsule can be a 1980 Ford Fiesta with the DIY window tint that you get at Walmart. Shape the future 🤡🌎

      An encounter with two lads from System of a Down on the weekend of the VMAs left Brent with a head injury that took some time to recover from.

    • @metalmulisha0143

      Ed they beat him up? Did it affect brent mentally and how he is now?

    • @GrassFed67
      @GrassFed67 5 років тому +1

      metalmulisha0143 Yeah, the bass player really fucked him up. Apparently Brent was drunk and starting shit and got punched in the head, assume he fell and hit his head. He was kind of fuzzy for a little while.

    • @andrewdomonic6603
      @andrewdomonic6603 5 років тому +2

      @@GrassFed67 yeah he hit a concrete planter on the way down. Many dudes have punched Brent when he was drunk and obnoxious. There is no beef, it's just unfortunate that he fell that way. Almost killed him. Brain swole.

    • @GrassFed67
      @GrassFed67 5 років тому +1

      Andrew Domonic yeah, always heard Brent didn't hold it against him, shit happens. That's fucking rough, hitting the back of your head on the way down makes for a bad time.
