- A lovely documentary about the Welsh Narrow Gauge Railways. This VHS was picked up in an enthusiast's selling hut at a heritage railway line. I like to upload videos that are no longer available to buy unless second hand. I couldn't find this video on DVD nor could I find the VHS version. Should anyone know a link to where you can purchase this feel free to add the link in the comments as I like to support the enthusiasts and film makers that spend their the time, money and effort in creating these films. This video had no case and the only information I have is the title of the documentary on the video cassette label.

I remember the joy, as a 5-6 yr old, riding the Fairbourne Railway back about 1930 !!! No that's not a misprint!
My parents had bought a wreck of a beautiful horse drawn Gypsy Caravan, reconditioned it during the winter and rented a coal merchant's horse next summer to take it down from Chester in the Wirral UK to Fairbourne. We stayed in it or a tent on the beach on the land side of the enormous sand dunes.
Those were the days!
Happy memories of the Porthmadog to Blenau Ffestiniog line but much more recently since I now live in Florida in the USA and had an Aunt who lived in Porthmadog that we used to visit

i hope you tube doesn't take this down. so many old films are lost to the public to watch. it's such a shame.

Fun fact: the Fairbourne platform with the long name is the longest narrow gauge platform name. Named after Llanfair PG in Anglesey. I believe both were marketing gimmicks but both have worked very well.
I think Douglas suited this livery more than the Victorian maroon although it's still a nice appearance
