I have Been working with Dell for a very long time and have always failed to put a laptop back together in working condition after disassembly. Your instructional video helped me to successfully replace the motherboard on a 7470. Thank you so much!!! Definitely made my day.
Great video! Thank you for putting it up. Other 'official' video states removing heatsink and a bunch of other stuff, if I had followed that it would be a pain in the neck, your way was better. Got my E7470 keyboard replaced, now the n, p, space, and / are working again!!! Those keys died on my old keyboard, not sure why.
Thanks for the video. I'm wondering how many SSDs can be installed on this laptop. Is there any "hidden" M.2 slot elsewhere, separate from the obvious one beside the battery compartment?
This is what I may be doing soon, after getting a backlit keyboard for replacement. However, I am now worried over the fact that the keyboard that was to be the replacement in the video wasn't a fit, although it was meant for a dell latitude e7470. Is this something to be generally worried about?
Great vid, switching the keyboard went great. I got this Laptop without screws for the back cover (dont ask how they went missing). Do you happen to know what screws those are? Maybe the same M2x5 that are in the inside?
@@coone3008 So I went to a store to buy some, because I aint no fucking pay 10€ for 500 screws on amazon. turns out standard M2x5mm kinda work. In the corners the plastic back cover is sitting tight. in the two middle holes I think the 5mm screws are too short.
Nice video but perhaps maybe the next video you can place the camera elsewhere or wear a swim cap so we don't get have to see your hair in half of the video. :-)

Good to hear!

I am replacing a Lenovo Flex 3 keyboard right now that had the space, enter, and \ all go bad. Who knows, computers are crazy sometimes!
This was very helpful for me...
Great to hear!
Thanks, this was a lot of help for an IT apprentice! (: Now I can change keyboards on some laptops at least
is the silver board under the keyboard part of it?

This is a really good instruction video .
Thanks a lot! Do you know if it is possible to swap non-backlit with a backlit keyboard?
The laptop motherboard itself is equipped with the port for the back light so it should be an identical process with one extra ribbon cable.

It appears that these are M1.8. Glad to have been a help!
@@coone3008 thanks for the fast response! M1.8 - just why dont they use M2... I have those in the shop, but nooo, it has to be something special :D
@@kokosnusskaka And they're captive so not even standard ones. :(

@@kokosnusskaka Good to know. So maybe it's a special captive M2x5 instead of an M1.8. Thanks for doing to legwork!
Hi dude i just got one in site it is i7 16ddr and 500gb m.2sata is it good to buy?M2sata is ssd or not?
The drive is Sata, not M.2 but with an SSD, it works quite well. It's a decent machine for sure.
