@amberblack9587 Pretty much. Candace's origin story of coming into the right wing sphere give her away. She changed her entire outlook on life, politics, and everything in between practically overnight.. big red flag. Compare that to someone clearly much more genuine like Amala Ekpunobi, who still maintains her base morals but realized that leftism wasn't the correct path towards these things. Not saying it can't happen, but myself as well as many others that I know had left the left as well, and by comparison Candace's story looks extremely contrived. Particularly when you look at her other inconsistencies, the many misconceptions she has of her own alleged conservative values, plus all of her bizarre drama with others in the online right wing sphere.

I think that Blair helps to destigmatize mental illness in many ways. I’ve recovered from PTSD and I found that some people would use my diagnosis to shut me up and dismiss my opinions by saying “what would you know, you’re mentally ill.”
Having a disorder doesn’t make someone stupid or irrational in every situation or aspect of life. It means they have one particular issue which affects one specific area of life. I think having an intelligent trans person discussing the politics which has complicated the situation is very important. Thanks Sloan and Blair for your work!

Exactly. I mean everyone has some form of mental illness really. like the people who drink a glass or two of wine in the evening, every single evening, and they say it 'relaxes' them. But it's the OCD aspect that relaxes them, and perhaps a bit of alcoholism. Anyway, i used to swallow objects as a kid, like coins, marbles, anything small and smooth, i think it's called 'pica', i was never diagnosed, but i still feel like swallowing things, like whenever i see those little coloured glass pebbles i get this kind of powerful feeling it's strange, i don't do that so i'm okay, but that's like a real mental illness, but i'm okay, i'm fine, i'm otherwise 'normal', we all have some issues, doesn't make us loopy, or stupid, or irrational, you're right. Like i think spending £10 or $10 on a coffee that isn't even that good is irrational, and most people do that.

That's so true. I liken it to someone who happens to be missing a limb (if you'll forgive the analogy). Yes, you are technically disabled, but that doesn't necessarily mean you don't get to participate in the rest of life. One may use a crutch or prosthetic and live quite capably. I can't imagine anybody saying " what do you know, you're disabled" in that circumstance.

I agree that Blaire is helping to destigmatize mental illness. By denying a need for a diagnosis of gender dysphoria, they're making it seem even more shameful to have a diagnosis of mental illness. That turns people off to admitting the truth and it turns people off to seeking treatment. If you have any type of mental disorder, please do not let people, shame you. You're valid, you're not bad, you're worthy. Please don't ever miss a chance to improve your life. If that includes a need for mental health treatment, please don't let people shame you into missing that opportunity to better your life experience.

Its just a very generational thing. Gen Z usually knows no Real Life contact so its very easy for them to take it very personal when somebody that they dont even know has a different opinion. To them, the internet is the real world. Offline is just something that they have to endure. Online is where their life is. This is why youtubers are millionares now, these kids grew up attached to them, and the opinions youtubers have, be it genuine or manufactured, to them it feels like its a relative saying those things to them

I like Blaire. She presents as a woman and I perceive her as a woman and have no issue using she or her to describe her. I respect her because she doesn’t insult people’s intelligence and is straight up that she was born biologically male but is comfortable presenting as female. It’s as simple as that. Instead of getting all caught up in the weeds of ‘what is a woman’ and a man is a woman and woman is a man and no one knows their gender until they grow up and tell you and blah blah blah. I like you too, Sloan ❤😊❤

It never ceases to amaze me how logical, reasonable, sensible and intelligent Blaire truly is and she is a damn good advocate for all the Trans individuals who do NOT agree with all of the false/confused beliefs, incorrect ideas that have seemed to be circulating around the internet and entering into our society today!! She seems to be a terrific representative for those who have transitioned like her but still understand science and reality/facts of life and has still remained respectable after her changes. She's not an entitled brat whose only purpose seems to be focused on causing as much controversy, chaos and destruction as possible and all for this need to get as much attention as they can. She speaks the truth, regardless of whether or not others like to hear it because there has to be some lines and barriers made that we cannot cross in this day and age, now that everything has become more accepted and she is a great example of proof that there's hope for all of us having the possibility for intelligent and correct decisions that we can make that will benefit EVERYONE and still remain a positive environment of acceptance to a reasonable degree. I really do love listening to her and I'm not trans but I feel like if I were, I would at least (hope) I would remain as level headed as she has, just being honest. 🤷🏻‍♀️❤

Regarding E.C. - I had an eating disorder for 20 years. When I went to college I was real bad. My friends and roommate were really worried about me bc I didn’t eat ANYTHING. I would lie and say that I was fine and that I ate but they knew. My roommate and friend called my parents saying they were real worried about me. One day I was coming back to my dorm after class and my Dad was there. I didn’t understand why and I was excited. He said “we need to take you somewhere. It’s over. You are dying…… bla bla bla” and when I got to my room all my friends and sorority sisters where there to support me and I ended up going across the country the next day for treatment. They saved my life that day! (Yes- I relapsed many times but I’m better today). Jaclyn (sp?) doing what she did was 100% out of concern and love and she did the right thing. E’s mom is in denial and is not helping. Many of my family members were in denial about me also and got mad at my parents for pulling me out of college etc. But as my mom said “I rather have you hate me forever and still be alive”. Anyway- Jaclyn was right!

I always thought to myself, i wanted you to interview Blaire but i honestly never thought it would happen! So thank you so much Sloan, for not caring about what differences you might have or what backlash you might get. That's why you are the Kong and literally made for this😊😊 Love you and Blaire!!❤

Defending Eugenia's choice to wither away by claiming that she's happy is a very bizarre take. I wonder if he will still feel the same when she dies prematurely.

Beyond impressed with this interview and the comment section, it's refreshing seeing people push back and support those who are spreading the truth as well as support us all coming together for real conversations. It's OKAY if we disagree on things, that used to be common sense. You rock Sloan and are standing up for the truth, happy birthday Blaire, you're a badass!❤

I love how Blaire speaks openly about topics that are considered somewhat taboo without embarrassment, without critiquing the person who is asking the question(s), and seems to be grounded in reality. Right away when mental illness came up Blaire answered clearly and was firm in the stance. I agree. Thanks Sloan for this episode.
