What's the quickest way to cut slate, about three to four inches thick? I've a 9 inch angle grinder but it kicks back a lot and I can't secure the slate so it's dangerous. Any tips/ideas
Good video for example, but having the correct tools teaches the correct technique. Ny bluestone quarrier here over 25 years and I'm still learning cutting techniques and tools of the dieing trade but I prefer my concrete cutoff saw with a diamond tip, not all blades are created equal and some are rated for certain rpm and if over or under will Hotspot the blade if not using water.

That wouldn’t work. I would cut it with an angle grinder fitted with a masonry blade

A wet saw is the safest but if you don’t have one, clamp the piece down and then try making your cut.
You are not using a chisel. It's a tracer chisel--big difference. There are tutorials on UA-cam for using a tracer CORRECTLY. Aye Yi Yi🤦

I cut blue stone all my life and I have never cut stone like that. He has no idea what he is doing.
