Yeah, I've owned both for a couple years now and still think they're two of Diecast Master's better models- if not "the" best. Though I must admit I have not purchased the new 352 high-reach demo excavator as of yet. That model does look great, and everything I've read 'n heard about it has been positive. Who knows? Considering the direction both companies have been heading in lately, Diecast Masters just might surpass CCM in terms of quality. 🤔

I would have to agree with you on the terms of ccm vs diecast masters. Diecast masters has in my opinion gone down hill a bit their functionality is not there and they specifically choose to use old casting from other models for newer models like the 375l using a lot of 385cl and 390dl parts making it not true to the real machine. AS for the high reach Diecast masters has released it looks nice I am just no it demolition models and for me I don't like the big hinges for the opening doors. I am very excited for a bunch of the new releases they announced this year I just hope those big hinges don't become something they put on all their models.

Would you rather not have an opening engine compartment vs dealing with the hinges and having some additional minor details?

For me I am not a big fan of hinges especially for the smaller models like the d5 they look over scaled but they can look ok on the bigger models like the d11

@@The690ELC it’s a fine line giving you some extra detail vs putting it out of scale and looking like a toy again. I like diecast masters for the realism so your comment didn’t occur to me until you mentioned it haha. I’m trying to build a road pacing deiorama in 1/50 so I’m trying to avoid toy looking stuff! But then I thought it might be cool to get an engineer looking guy working on a cat that needed a repair or something

the new models are not horrible to me just depends on the one for example i like the cat 315 but i would never buy the cat 352 high reach that model looks horrible to me. If you are going to display the engine covers open than you wont really see the hinges.
