I'm so proud of Mabel! he is a great songwriter, a brave, out queer person who is out and unabashedly so in a very difficult time in turkey. in the 2000s we were out on the streets protesting everyday. we started organizing pride marches in Istanbul in 2003 and the one in 2014 was with 100 thousand people. as one person stated in the comments, karakol was banned from televisions in turkey. but mabel, nonetheless, continues to be very very popular here. they cannot stop us! i recommend Melike Şahin, who is a good friend of Mabel. her song "diva yorgun" (the diva is tired) was one of the most popular songs last year and the video is amazing. it's a fun song. she has a beautiful voice and the song was written by Mabel himself. 🙂
