Make Kirk the highest paid backup ever even if Hall is legit, jump on it before SF steals him away. After watching the dorktown vikings youtube series I realized that I don't want a half decade of failure before getting a superbowl win, I want the vikes to get there doing what they always have, thinking that this year's the year, year after year. Tanking is the most unviking thing we could do.

It's the fans and media that give the organization the let downs. Every time they get to a big playoff game or a championship game, the media and fans bring up all the past misfortune, and it carries itself into the stadium and to the players. Remember when the Eagles won the Super Bowl? They never doubted themselves despite all their past failures.

Our schedule is pretty easy the next few weeks and with our O-line looking really good with the best offensive weapons in the league I'm sure he'll do just fine. Kirktober forever. After a day to mull it over, its still too difficult to conceive any shred of optimism. It's hard to be a Vikings
What really hit me yesterday was the difference in fan reactions.
Sure, fans of Minnesota have been sooo very close and every single time, something happens where we are left speechless and our hope is shattered in front of us, ready to endure another 10month long rebuild. But then losing in the playoffs is much different than this. This is the star of the team who's position has inspired children to be Vikings fans, to grow as Vikings fans and go to games with their parents. This was supposed to be the time where no snags could prevent us from finally laying out something for the future fans to own with honor .. then you think of all the new fans whose first Vikings heartbreaks are these last few months and ... You don't see the blaming and it pointing, you see heart and hope and of course....remarkable patience. Let's go team, let's go coach, let's go purple!
. HOPE, HORNS, HALL THE WAY UP. SKOL!!! 💜

I was born in 1961 when the franchise was born. My grandfather was a long time season ticket holder in the old Met Stadium. I have been "all in" as a fan since I could walk in Iowa. There has been "many, many, many...." heartbreaks over the last 62 years. This is right up there! Is there any player in the NFL that deserves a Super Bowl more than Kirk and our fans?. He is such a strong leader for this team and just a great man! He will be 100% invested in this team the rest of this season for sure. So ironic that his non-contact injury would rob him of a run in 2023! Just sickening! He has got the crap beat out of him for 5 years as a Viking. In 2023, the O-Line appears to be the "real deal" and has given him more time than any years prior. Not to mention the much improved defense crafted by B. Flo. Kirk is tougher than a $2 steak and has been blessed to escape injury during his career. Many prayers to KC and his family for a speedy recovery. Finally, I'm not greedy, all I ask is 1/ONE/UNO Lombardi trophy hoisted by my team before I leave this world. Maybe we can have a repeat of 1999 Rams Kurt Warner story (I attended same High School as KW) I would go with Jaren Hall. There are many solid Viking players to "rally around Jaren" to be successful! Let's do this! SKOL Vikings!

The true measure of a person's or organization's character is how do they deal with adversity. I grew up in Detroit as a Vikings fan from the time they were introduced as a franchise in the NFL. Every time they defeat the Lions is a personal victory for me, as childhood friends and family members have nothing to say to me about football!
Kirk Cousins is the epitome of class! His leadership is of the quietly dynamic style. He's never looked for accolades from others, and walks daily in his faith. What's not to love about the MAN! As a fan of this franchise since 1961, I've seen the many choices that the team has made when it comes to players, coaches, and front office personnel. I had the pleasure of working with the organization during the Denny Green era, and saw how the fans and media treated him and his teams. Do you remember the Les Steckel year? How about Brad Childress's tenure?
Teams win championships because of Luck, Leadership, and Loyalty! As a fan base, I personally don't think we deserve a championship team because as fans we don't show loyalty to this team! Only one team has gone undefeated through the Super Bowl, the 1972 Dolphins, and our fan base acts as if in the middle of a 13 and 4 season, (last season) that this team 'sucks' because they didn't blow out a team of professionals! Absurd!
I watched Kirk at MSU and how he never lost to Mighty Michigan. He was drafted by the Washington Football Team after they drafted RG3 in the first round and outplayed him while he was there. His business acumen is up there with the likes of a Warren Buffet in recognizing how and when to invest. He's loyal to his team, family, and most importantly his God! He didn't cave to the false narrative regarding the inoculation that was being forced on individuals. His faith guided his decision and he didn't cause an ounce of problems for his team!
For every person that has the temerity to question his integrity, character, loyalty, or dedication to his craft just needs to look at how he handled being 'coached' by men that didn't have an ounce of those same qualities. He never ducked the hard questions and never made an excuse for his failures. He allowed those that could never do his job at a fraction of his effectiveness, question him, his desires, and abilities without dishing out a negative attitude. He answered questions about his faith, when no one came to his aide. He secured a fully guaranteed contract, because he knew his worth and value. The players that he plays with respect his work ethic and preparation.
I have always hoped that this franchise would put all the pieces in place to win it all, but am fully aware that if they don't this year, next year is just a few months away.
All the best to you Kirk Cousins! I hope that the Vikings buck up and shock the league by winning out and bringing the championship to Minnesota!
If not this year, I'll be here next year with the same optimism!
    SKOL!!!!

It was 2006 when I went into the deep end as a Vikings fan, so for most of my experience there was the QB Carousel. Kirk was the first real franchise QB I've had, and it sucks so much that in a year that he seemed poised to silence the haters, he goes down with a freak non-contact injury. I hope that wasn't his last game in purple, but if it is, at lease it was a W in Green Bay. Have a good recovery Kirko!

Despite all the sadness, disappointment & frustration I am still feeling, I have to say that I finished this presser with a feeling of hope, plus an even greater respect & appreciation for KO, both as a person & as a coach! 👍
Yes, KO is a very likeable & charming guy, but there is so much substance as well. In this presser, I was amazed by his quiet confidence, as well as his ability to be still in heart & mind as he discussed a situation that surely he must find upsetting, frustrating & even infuriating. It may sound silly, but there seemed to be an air of 'peace & purpose' in the room as he worked his way through the presser & discussed his own processing of the bad news, how he will coach the team through this, and how he will work with Kwesi A-M as they navigate these uncharted waters to maintain & improve the Vikings competitiveness, on Sunday & beyond. There was no sadness, no resignation, no denial, no 'the sky is falling', no intense reach to move on from the bad news.....just a calm sense of 'peace & purpose' from KO. 👍
I have followed the Vikes for 50+ years, and I have to say that KO's presser was, in its own way, a most significant & very encouraging moment in this team's history! 👍👍

    • @robe2504
      @robe2504 Рік тому

Same - most of us and the locker room are going through the grief cycle - denial, anger, helplessness, depression, acceptance. Hopefully the team will take out its frustration and anger on the Falcons, and then start to move on.
The 49ers rallied behind Purdy last season. No reason that the Vikes can't rally behind Hall, or whoever else plays point guard, especially with JJ, Nailor and Davenport due to come back soon.
Who knows what will happen to other teams. I don't see why the Vikes with Hall can't beat a Ridder or Heinecke led Falcons who just lost their primary pass rusher for the season.
I could also easily see the Lions losing 2 or 3 more games before meeting the Vikes in week 16. Maybe starting with the Raiders today.

Bottom line: It's the nature of the game, especially with so much parity in the league & injuries throwing wrenches into the most smoothly-running franchises. IMHO, the key to happiness as a football fan is 1. above all, genuinely love the game for the sake of the game, 2. build positive connections with like-minded fans, and 3. root for one's favourite team like crazy! 🙂

STOP with the trade talk. It is so annoying and makes me question the entire ownership and coaches leadership. You have Hall. You drafted him. Play him and see if he grows during the remainder of the season. If he fails you know it and if he shows real ability then you know it. Don't overthink this. It's football. Good wishes for all and especially Kirk.

It is such a shame. I thought even with a 4-4 record they were better than last years team. Kirk was absolutely outstanding and the offensive line is so much better than last year and the defence has improved under Flores. I've been a Viking fan since about 1965 and I always will be!

Jaren Hall!!! RPO is what we need to get this running game going, which will open up the passing game even more. This might be just what the Dr ordered. Skol! Watch his highlights. The dude can throw in tight windows. You put any rookie quarterback out on the field cold, on the other teams 10 yard line, it ain’t gonna be pretty. I think we’ll be just fine with him under center.

If everyone on this team gives a little more? Vikings win the Superbowl with EASE🎉 🏈 They really could be undefeated right now, if not for self inflicted wounds. Kirk was a big reason for the positive play as of recent. But, we also have 52 players plus practice squad, contributing to that as well. I believe in our team. This is an extremely well balanced football TEAM (Offense/Defense/ST). WHEN Vikings make the playoffs, no one will want to deal with them💯🏈 Get well soon Kirk, sending prayers 🙏🏾

As tough as this is, and I never thought I’d be saying that, think of this as a reset and we’re starting the new guy out at the level that Cousins was at earlier. Not comfortable in the pocket; not used to checking down; defenses out for blood because he’s the new guy; feet mired in concrete when dancing around is required. Cousins went through all that and he has become effective even with the front line being not so good. So give the new guy short passes that are difficult to intercept, step up the running game, try more trick plays and create more defensive takeaways. The running game especially must improve. It just has to.

Best, most consistent Vikings QB since Tarkenton. Not much of a contest, there's Tommy, who was never on the same level as Kirk, and there's Culpepper who was inconsistent. Safe to say he's probably gone though, with the injury. It's been a good run though, 2019 especially with that defense and the playoff win.
