Just found your channel today and i enjoy watching your videos! Planning to take chinese course at NTNU end of next year after i get my bachelor degree , so excited!! :D
As a taiwanese student studying in Germany, you make me feel : how come I'm here but not just staying in Taiwan 😂😂😂 nice channel 😍 wish you all doing well now 😊
I don't even believe Janet is Korean or can speak Korean. Her English and Chinese is soooo good. How can someone speak THREE languages so well??? Just kidding : )
Hey i've been watching most of your videos on the univversity and i must say keep it up,i'm currently pursuing my bba in india but i'd definitely love to pursue my mba fron NTU.
Do I really need to submit a chinese proficiency certificate for the department of foreign language and literature ?? The only thing I have right now is the toefl certificate and I’m not really that good yet to pass the recommended skill level for chinese.
It's not required(check once more for the required documents you need to submit), but what I found was now the professors expect you to have certain level of Chinese proficiency to understand classes. Plus, in the assignments you need to submit for DFLL, there are couple of questions you need to answer in Chinese and film that. So their expectation is quite high now.
I was actually hesitant at first since I thought that it was required , but when I checked it again ,its just recommended. Thank you so much for the help!! I’m hoping to submit my application next month.
Hi. Thanks for these great videos. I am considering send my daughter to taiwan university for her study. May I ask you how much it will cost a year? It will be very appriciated if you can break it down like school tuition and living expenses. Thank you!
Hello! Thanks for the sweet comment! I have made a video about cost of living and tuition! The video below may help you! ua-cam.com/video/wh8G5Ts392Y/v-deo.html For me the dorm was 4900NTD(now it rose to 5100NTD) a month. Phone with unlimited data eas 499NTD. I spent around 7,000 to 10,000NTD for food and leisure. Mostly below 10,000NTD. Hope it helped!
hello! I have a plan to study in Taiwan. I want to study information technology, but I have problem about which university should I choose and which department should I apply? I am an international student and can’t understand mandarin but I also plan to study mandarin too!
Hello. National Taiwan University, National Chiao Tung University, National Tsing Hua University are three schools in Taiwan that are internationally renowned. You should start from Googling 'Taiwan university ranking' and then look for departments offered there. We're not an expert in Taiwan Uni. admission, so can't tell you apply to which departments:( Btw I think NTU has a department related to information technology.
As far as I know NTU sprays insecticide regularly. Also there are not that many bugs!! I haven't seen a single cockroach in my room for 4 years. Of course there is a notorious one called 'xiao hei wen'. It's a kind of a mosquito but once you get bitten by it, you'll die from the itchy skin. But unless you sit on the grass, you'll not get bitten by it.
Hi! I have a plan to study in Nation Taiwan University. My major is language English. But I have a problem . I am in two minds that this school have language major. Please give me advice. Thank you so much❤❤❤❤❤❤
Hello, if you are thinking of majoring in English, you should apply for 'Department of Foreign Langauges and Literatures'. NTU doesn't have the Department of English, but the department I mentioned above is a similar thing. In that department, you learn about English, it's literature, culture and some other languages. DFLL is also the department all of have majored in. But DFLL deals a lot of literature. So if you're not a big fan of literature, you should reconsider!
Hey Janet, hypothetical question. You are 18 years old again and you have to choose a university in Taiwan THAT IS NOT NTU. Where would you go? Would you consider NCTU or Tsing Hua University in Hsinchu?
When I choose a school to study at, I look at the international ranking. I think it's important to choose the school that is internationally more known. So if it isn't NTU, then probably Tsing Hua Uni!
Wow,so it seems like you can speak Korean,Chinese and English. That's fantastic!May I ask how long have you learning English? Cause you speak English like a native speaker!
Hi! If I remember correctly, you got a scholarship for NTU right? What were your stats (how was your application)? I’m interested in studying at NTU but I think I’d need a scholarship and I’m just wondering what my chances are. :)
Hello!! I didn't get the scholarship upon the admission. My scholarships for international students were in my junior and senior year. My GPA was 4.14/4.3 when I got the first scholarship. But of course you can get the scholarship given to freshmen upon entry. You can apply for the scholarship when you send the application for NTU. I think 1-2 international students in one department gets the freshman scholarship(or maybe less?)
Is it really difficult to get into NTU??? I mean can my application get rejected even though I have all the required documents??? And plz tell about how good my previous school grades should be so that I can rest assured about the admission in NTU. Lots of luv😊😊
Although you have all the required documents ready, school might not accept you if it's not good enough. I heard that the high school(previous degree's) GPA should be at least 3.7.(but this is just what people think based on those students who got in) If you prepare all the requirements well, NTU will definitely accept you!
Hello Janet! I’m gonna join NTU soon as a PhD student. Since I wanted to start learning Mandarin Chinese from scratch, would you suggest me some books or online materials to start from ZERO! Thanks.
Hello! I would recommend you the UA-cam channel that teaches Chinese. There are actually so many channels that teach you from the basic level and some channels are much better than going to language schools. Go to the book store and buy the textbook with many short conversations, so that you can practice the actual speaking. Your first textbook should include parts for the alphabet(pinying) and tone. If you learned the basic, you can try some online courses like 'Amazing Talker'. I've seen some people taking that. Also! I recommend you watching some shows from Taiwan or China! They really help you a lot. Like you can see the gradual improvement in the language:)
I just wanted to ask if the exams are taken in english medium or mandarin chinese? That is, do we need to learn to write chinese too? Thank you, in advance❤
Exams will be in both languages. You may ask for English exam sheet, but you don't have choices for some exams. Which means, you should be able to read and write Mandarin!
@@sweetpotatoislandtaiwan7411 So I curious how you managed your first semester there.
