From all the Build-It-Yourself belt grinders I've seen on UA-cam in the past week or so, plus reviewing the grinders offered by the larger manufacturers, this one is the one that has really stood out for me. Simple. Modular. Bolted together. No welding required. Adaptable, adjustable, expandable. Finishing seems excellent, and durability doesn't seem to be lacking. Now what's lacking is rate of production (seems to be several comments about "Out of Stock") and international shipping (Canada here). Would love to get my hands on one.
great little machine versatile and practical worked in the abrasive belt business for several years saw every thing from half horsepower dynafile to hundred horsepower powergrinders and that thing of yours is just brilliant
Love this grinder just got mine and assembled and wired the vfd into the 2hp motor runs like a dreams. Also love seeing how humble you're when it comes to all these other douche canoes and their opinions stay humble and keep grinding cheers mate for a great product.
I plan on starting to make knives sometime this coming spring. Starting as just an expensive hobby, but then hopefully turning into a small business, and I'm pretty sure this is gonna be the grinder I'll be picking up! Thanks for the rgeat video demonstrating it!
gag. Not another fucking knife maker. I've blacksmithed for 25 years and made maybe a dozen knives, but have been asked by every male under 20 "Can you make a sword?!!!" Over 20 they ask about knives. Everyone wants to be a rock star, but very few want to be a musician.

I can see that you switched the cheap grinder with your better model just before you turned it on to show the tracking. Then you switched it back right after. Look at the thickness of the steel sides in the main body of the grinder people. Nice editing job dude! I would never buy something from someone who would stoop so low as to do that. Buyers beware.
Ummm your crazy, my better model grinder does not use a gas shock. and its substantially taller. But thanks for taking the time to comment., We appreciate it.
Ok you're right I am crazy. I see now that I was looking at the thickness of the platen and not the base unit itself. I was wrong and wish to apologize. I should look harder and not comment until I know what I am talking about. Your grinder looks like a good one at that price level. Sorry.
not exactly what i would call a hobbiest grinder, at that price point. it's more like the novice grinder. and a good price for the mobil set up. looks like you did a great job there.
hi, I clicked on the video just to see your table, I never saw one with square holes, and the last word in the title i didn't see until i saw the grinder on the table , never saw a video from you before .... subscribed
Yea its called a Acorn table and is used for metal fab work, Its cast iron so weld splatter does not stick for the most part. And all manner of fixtures and clamps fit in the square holes.
Hi Chris Williams I've been trying to talk to you about purchasing one of your grinders with the accessories and aluminum wheels but for some reason the conversation gets lost. How does a person order what they want and how does a person pay?
I want one of these, but I also want a small wheel attachment. The one on your web page is $220, so I'm wondering if the small wheel attachment for the Bader or the KMG would work on it since they are cheaper. I'm poor and cheap, you see.
Hi Great Show, I like it!! How much with the aluminum Wheels and second arm included. Oh does it come with a belt, instructions and recommendations for future belts, like a chart or something?
I completely disagree, WHy buy something twice. Dont save money to have to spend more later.I wish I had never bought my first crappy grinder Craftsman 2x30. I gave it away later. I wish I had bought a real grinder in the first place.
@Soldier Creek Forge & Knives that's awesome! I just received my KMG today! I got it for almost $1k cheaper than it was supposed to be and it came with a couple extra components. Happy grinding my friend!
Yes, as long as the contact wheel is attached to a tooling arm that is 1.5" square bar then yes then replacing flat platten with a contact wheel is no problem and only takes a few seconds to change out. Thanks for the interest.

I've been shopping for awhile, and I like this better than of the others I've looked at. The price is right, too - especially with a 1.5hp motor.

Very nice!, I see it has some of the features found on my grinder, they work well. Nice that it is a bolt together unit too. Regards, Mike

+Sam Harper The one for the KMG will work but not the bader.
+Chris Williams Thank you.
Chris your design seems quite good. But your website is truly in need of serious attention if you want to make money doing this.
Hi
Great Show, I like it!! How much with the aluminum Wheels and second arm included. Oh does it come with a belt, instructions and recommendations for future belts, like a chart or something?
poqiuo $1400
I also meant to ask about the small wheel attachment and it's compatability and availability.
One other thing that deserves a question is the actual cost of shipping to Texas
+poqiuo Send me an email via my webpage. I dont quote prices or quotes on UA-cam.
Hi Chris. Does the "1000" in the LB1000 represent the motor's HP? 1 HP ? Not sure if you mentioned the horsepower, maybe I missed it.
1.5hp
Chris Williams Thanks
Awesome grinder, but if it it DiY do you have plans ?
1k$ is about my month salary so i am not able to purchase that :
awesome, exept i am living in Poland so it won't be very helpfull :D
+urbinek I have a dealer in UK. But if that is out of your price range then just make a grinder from scratch. Its not hard.
The LB1000 seems great. Do you ship to Canada ?
At this time I do not ship internationally.
Any plans on shipping to Canada anytime in the future? Looks like you'd get some business up here.
$1k is still steep for a beginner knifemaker. There's still a way to make it more affordable. Beginners don't NEED 1.5hp motor.
I completely disagree, WHy buy something twice. Dont save money to have to spend more later.I wish I had never bought my first crappy grinder Craftsman 2x30. I gave it away later. I wish I had bought a real grinder in the first place.

✌
Email me and we will see what we can do for you. Thanks for Supporting Wilmont Grinders.
Chris, your website is showing that the LB is out of stock. Are you planning on restocking? I'd really like to get one.
It's back in stock just not updated website yet.
Chris Williams Do you know when the website will be updated?
Just updated it a few mins ago.
Hi Chris, do you have a dealer in Australia. Great grinder.
Yes lookup Gameco, he is my Australian dealer. Corin will take good care of you.
CW
Thanks Chris. I've dealt with them before. I'll have a look. Nice Grinder for the price. Not quite under $1k here unfortunately.
Yea unfortunately shipping and taxes on Corins part adds some to the price I assume.
is it allowed to work this way? Without any covers?
Rob P Of course, Knifemakers don't put covers on that prohibit changing the belt easily.
Price?
where did you get this
Is it able to to add a 8in contact wheel to hallow grind?
Yes, as long as the contact wheel is attached to a tooling arm that is 1.5" square bar then yes then replacing flat platten with a contact wheel is no problem and only takes a few seconds to change out. Thanks for the interest.
