My theory on the botting in standard is that Blizzard *has* started clamping down on barcodes in arena -- by checking if the player has a legit history of gameplay -- with the unintended consequence that in order for a barcode deck to survive in arena, it has to run standard for a day or two. I ranked from bronze to platinum the other day with zero losses against these "players" which are coded to resemble (slightly) human operators. The have the same account names (gibberish) and the same three or four card backs as the barcodes encountered in arena. They have the same (highly mediocre) decks (with class-specific exceptions), make the same moves and mistakes, and almost always go face instead of controlling the board. They're easier to beat than innkeeper -- and, obviously, degrade the ladder experience substantially. Edit to add: If my theory is right, it's a good thing: if every scrub on ladder reports every bot, then they'll start dying before they come over to arena.

When I say zero losses, I mean I laddered with something like a 25-0 record, which I ordinarily would not be able to do. Not a single live human.
Hopefully they can just continue to modify the algorithm as time goes on
I hear you like getting AOE every turn Dreads
It’s the besssssttttt
