Join Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May as they travel across the globe on their Grand Tour. A show about adventure, excitement and friendship… as long as you accept that the people you call friends are also the ones you find extremely annoying. Sometimes it’s even a show about cars, reviewing Italian classics, hot hatchbacks, muscle cars, pick-up trucks, luxury vehicles and more. There’s something for everyone (If you like middle-aged men doing things with cars, then this is the show for you!)
Prime Video has thousands of popular movies and TV shows, including award-winning Amazon Originals, plus live sport and more. All included with Prime!

Who's at fault then: Edinburgh or the cars?
Both 👀
Their driving ability
I would say a bit of both

I loved how James instantly got the note right after hearing Hammond's dying engine.
"Ode to a Dying Buick Riviera" by James May
Well he is a man with a music degree, after all!
@@thegrandtour Do not drive gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the engine.
These guys could literally host any show about any topic and everyone would watch it.
Me too. I fully enjoyed Clarckson's farm, it was nice to see Jeremy in that setting.
Yeah I'd pay to watch them paint a white wall white.
I like Jeremy's recent show "It's Clarkson On TV" too, he should do more.
Jack of all trades, but are you 'the master of none'?
Isn't that what they did??? Because in all honesty all the grand tour stuff hasn't been very good compared to their old top gear stuff.
I still watch it (as you say) but mainly because each time I hope they return to their former glory. It's almost like they try too hard now and it misses the mark.
The best bit was the bridge and Hammond in the boat. The rest was just lacking and no need for the "American" plot or the cars. I'd have preferred it if they had a budget to buy some old bangers then go on a mission like the good old days.
I bet that deliveroo kid couldn’t believe his luck, seeing Clarkson, Hammond and May in 3 massive American saloons in the backstreets of Edinburgh
Definitely made for an interesting day at work
Saloons? They're coupes 😂😂
@@Bhaidostyaar well strictly speaking they’re coupés but my point is is that they’re massive American cars
@@pwrkeyring4619 yes, right. I mean seriously 😂😂 a 5.7 metre car with just 2 doors(77 caddy eldorado). And at that time it was normal for America to have cars like that, but they were a whole different level of luxury for the rest of the world!!
@@Bhaidostyaar only thing longer than that I’m any other country was a l i m o
Looks like Jeremy got a stable door again
Yeah he got another door that pulled back to London and is on strike
It's come back to Longbridge!
@@keeperofeurobeat8421 oh woops, i typed london not longbridge lol
@@keeperofeurobeat8421 it's come back to Longbridge
The problem with Hamster’s Riviera probably has something to do with the water pump, which is integrated with the timing chain cover and notorious for being problematic.
Or it could be that it fears its fate in Hammond's hands
@@dualwieldroxas358 This is my interpretation and nothing can change my mind.
But relatively easy to replace compared to modern cars.
As someone who knows Edinburgh very well, I can tell you that these "streets" are the access lanes behind the streets, along which few ever drive.
Yup, the American version of TG did something similar here in Reykjavík.
Are you suggesting their shenanigans are scripted, and they did this deliberately just to get a laugh? Well, I never...
@@Broccoli_Highkicks Indeed. It's not like that's what they always do. I just wanted to point it out for people who might not know.
I love how after getting up the narrow street at 1:05 he turns left which will only bring him back down the same hill to where he started. 😅
It takes pure talent to get under 200 h/p out of an engine larger than 300 ci.
Lol
It was done on purpose, and billions of dollars of engineering so yes! All the talent was used to suck the life out of these poor V8s
No. It takes government interference to get so little horsepower out of an engine.
" how do they get so little horsepower out of a "V8 MOHDUR"
@@thor6580 so the talent has to be reversed, they have lower the power of the v8
Love these 1970s American land yachts. Style for days, no power, tons of low end torque. Beautiful. If I had another slot in my garage I'd get one.
For cruising flat long highways on the weekend, they're extremely special. It's like driving a memory foam couch.
@Derek Xbzzz when you get older, you start to care less about 0-60 numbers.
Cadillacs before we couldn’t afford them anymore. 😎
@@alexanderryan1176 I’m only 20 and I already don’t care.
@Derek Xbzzz if you care that much about 0 to 62 only might as well just only buy a tesla.
2:43 typical James May with his musical degree....😆. Love it TBH..😆
The old Scottish couple laughing at Jeremy is freaking adorable
"Crinkey, its like John in Mongolia".
So true man😂
Well,
John actually got things done.
@@chequeredflag16 Yeah John may have pogoed up hills, but John's doors stayed intact until the hosts themselves removed them and wasn't prone to boiling over just from normal driving. John would have been fine in Edinburgh (as long as they made sure his steering wasn't backwards again).
Love the throwback
Every American serviceman living in Germany in the 1970s lived this nightmare. Trying to get our giant American cars through narrow German (or other countries') streets.
I always thought Germany had wide roads. Given how chrysler sold products here in the 50s
@@Plymouth_Belvedere On the Autobahn and other roads sure, but there are also plenty of towns in Germany where roads are really narrow due to medieval city planning, especially in the west and Bavaria where most American servicemen were stationed.
@@alistairwalker2850 ye, I live in a town where lots of old cars can easily just cruise through. I'm very lucky haha
@@Plymouth_Belvederewhat town is that
That woman cackling while watching Clarkson climb through the window had me in stitches. 😂😂
This is hilarious and mind-blowing seeing these big old boats across the pond. Cadillac notably kept many of the '70s styling throughout the 80s until the early 90s. Including the underpowered engines.
That describes the Cadillac Brougham perfectly.
I mean all the divisions did that. Pontiac, Buick you name it. And of course the other manufacturers like Ford and Chrysler.
I like the guy in the background, who was pretending to wash some part of his house, so he could be in the show.
Probably a crewmember, added for comic effect. Not the first time they've done it.
I'll be honest... The Riviera boat tail is one of my all time favorite cars. If you ever look at the side profile of that car, it's gorgeous!
Love how Clarkson goes to get ”us all a zesty drink” and proceeds to only get himself a drink 🤣 true to form!
That's because Clarkson is a Team Player.
And as a Team Player, when he got a zesty drink, the team got a zesty drink.
You can see he's holding more than one bottle :D
Yeah.
Why notice details?
Grand Tour with these 3 is the best! If I had to pick between Soccer and Grand Tour, then it would definately pick Grand Tour.
I loved the last Episode. I wish Amazon Prime would get the old Specials from their previous Show as well on their Network.
They tried.. BBC quoted them $142M for it.
If i had a penny for every time Jeremy's door opened but didn't I would have 2 pennies.... which is not a lot but it's weird that it happened twice
"It's pulled back to Long Beach!" - Jeremy Clarkson.
Wasn't expecting to see a Phineas and Ferb reference here but I shall fully accept it and am happy to see it.
@@UltraHylia Funny you should say that, because the trio actually were on an episode of Phineas and Ferb.
@@shriharihudli That's right - them appearing on Phineas and Ferb was unexpected for me as well, but I'm a huge fan of both so it makes me very happy!
Because they've run out of 'jokes' so they're using the same ones they have previously. "Old" Top Gear was the same - heavily scripted repetitive 'jokes'.
Sick burnout in the Lincoln

It's called planned obsolescence and it's done on purpose to make people buy more shit. Otherwise everything would last for hundreds of years, more or less.
@@EchoesDistant A lot of the issues with vehicles from the 1960's or 1970's were not necessarily related to planned obsolescence. It often boiled down to either too much innovation without testing, faulty engineering without enough testing, or bean counters requiring low-quality parts that failed to perform as they should (I don't consider immediate failures planned obsolescence). Case in point, these examples from both the UK and the US:
- The overcomplicated (but well-meaning) inboard disc brakes on the Rover P6 platform - genuine design innovation, but a nightmare to service. Reflected on many other UK-made vehicles (AM V8, various Jaguars).
- The penchant for Jaguar's V12's (both HE and pre-HE) to drop valve seats - nothing much more than poor engineering.
- Chrysler's slop-prone power steering of the 1960's and 1970's - much worse than GM's Saginaw box from the same period.
- Zinc pest causing swelling in Zamac carburetors - present on some 1970's Motorcraft carbs (and to be fair, not really a problem until 20+ years later).
None of these things - which all have worked against the reputation of the respective vehicles they were fitted to - were specific design choices towards planned obsolescence. All were the result of poor engineering, engineering errors, or - particularly in the case of inboard brakes - a deliberate decision to use a more difficult-to-service design in exchange for improved driving characteristics (real or perceived).
Now, you _could_ argue that things like Chrysler's lousy bulkhead connector melting was a form of planned obsolescence, because they were already aware that it was only good for a limited amperage, and bypassed it on fleet vehicles as a production rule. Ditto for brittle plastics behind the dash (especially on Fords of the era) - now that's planned obsolescence.
1960’s: Americans in space and on the moon.
These adventures feel like a bit more empty without them (usually Jeremy) going into the history/landmarks and other interesting info about wherever they travelling though
I agree but he deserves to be let off this time due to Covid. He mentioned in an interview that a lot of places were closed and filming was constantly being disrupted due to the ever changing lockdown regulations.
3:03 I dont know why, but Jeremy's reaction to the *zesty* drink cracks me up
I love Jeremy's reaction at 3:00 to drinking Irn Bru, the famous Scottish fizzy drink. It tastes so sweet and sickly.
"My bovine differential" That's quite possibly the best description I have ever heard for an open diff. Those are rubbish on those American monstrosities.
The 70's funk music is from a Montenegrin/Greek composer living in France. He has of course been sampled to death (Janko Nilovic)
I thought I heard drug song come on
This is like old top gear! Absolute gold
3.40 that lady laughing was pure joy.
LOVE IT. Jeremy “Dukes of Hazard” that shit. 😂❤️
Obviously the car refuse to let jeremy drive it again so it locked itself, brilliant
It had seen what's happened to other cars on the show
The car doesn't want to end up being trashed and damaged by the trios
A stunning resemblance to the rover in the British leyland challenge on top gear
My first car was similar to the Lincoln Continental Mark V that Jeremy Clarkson was driving. It was a boat, but what a smooth ride it was. It definitely drank gas..
Richard and James bickering like two old biddies about bins at the end was comedy gold!
That lady cackling at Clarkson was hilarious haha
That Buick was definitely the coolest of the 3. By a LARGE margin.
Of course it was, it's a boat tail
1972 Buick Riviera. I have the ‘71, I love it!
Lincoln was the coolest
2:32 Haha, they kept James' duet with Death in this clip, if you listen closely, they're singing "Time is on my side" from the Stones.
Edinburgh streets aren't particularly tight. They were driving up back alleys for comic effect. All a bit forced.
"Lochdown" LMFAO...
This show makes life worth living...
I can't believe Clarkson is only two years older than Tom Cruise
That's what years of smoking does

"Oh fuck he wasn't lying"
It was an edinbruh moment
Shame the Lincoln only had the 400; serious increase in performance with the big block 460, even though it was a late 70s tuned down smog motor. I used to have one and the balls were huge, from right off the line up to around 100mph. Nothing quite like a big block motor out on the open road.
I had a 74 mark iv. Thing cruised like a cloud and could do shitties like no other. That 460 couldn't pass a single gas station, old girl was mighty thirsty.
3:41: Yeah, smooth. Like sandpaper!
I can sorta relate to this as I tried to squeeze my -87 volvo into a very tight back alley behind a russian hotel. Fun without power-steering
Slipping on cobblestones was funny. You should see how bad these boats were in the heavy snow of Buffalo NY. We’d keep a shovel and a bag of sand in the trunk.
He may like his fast, tight, good handling cars but Clarkson in a Lincoln Continental is an oddly natural sight. Somehow more natural than James in a Cadillac.
That’s a rare riviera, it not only has the boat tail but also the vents on the deck lid
I always laughed at the Pontiac Parisienne, which could never be driven in Paris for the reasons shown in this video!
3:07 Good lord, it's the Rover SD1 all over again!
I had that exact! Cadillac Coupe De Ville. That was my first car 500ci V8 loved it!
The best car show ever even after all these years they still make me laugh
This is like trying to make a great Dane run through those tunnels they use in dog shows
Parking sensor front and rear would be the best upgrade for these lol
They will be just constantly blaring because the gap have to be so close
This is already my favourite episode.
3:35 Jeez that laugh 😮
I'm British but I have to say these American land yachts were big but they looked fantastic.
I had a 1985 Olds Delta 88 and the drivers door panel was just like Clarkson's
With how big those cars are, you'd probably have trouble getting around some American cities as well.

3:35. It's like watching Boss Hogg trying to get into The General Lee.
Talking of Frank Cannon,Clarkson is developing the girth of the late lamented TV detective..
"Developing"? I think he's already there.
You should try the cobbles in the snow, it gets pretty interesting 😆
It is amusing; I have a 1971 Buick Riviera boat tail; 455 in.³, 245 hp, & I might get double digit gas mileage if I am going downhill with a tail wind and the AC off. My wife has a modern dodge challenger V6; 219 in.³, 305 hp, 30 miles per gallon at highway speed‘s with the AC on! I have a modern dodge challenger SRT8, 392 in.³, 471 hp & 23 1/2 miles per gallon at highway speed with the AC on. That is wicked impressive!

How many millionaires do you know who have become wealthy by investing in savings account? No one...
It's not how much money you keep, but how much money you make, how hard it works for you and how many generations you keep it for.
Interesting, most people don't understand the market moves and tend to be mislead in facts like this and always depend on Money in the Bank very bad idea...
I understand the fact that tomorrow isn't promised to anyone, but investing today is a hard thing to do for me now because I have no idea of how and where to invest in?
Exactly, money is always eager and ready to work for anyone who is ready to employ it, I was able to withdraw my profit of $17,000 after investing $3,500 on Mr Nicholas Howard some days ago.
Please do you mind sharing any means of reaching out to him easily? As I am so anxious to get started..

Maybe the car physics in GTA IV weren't so unrealistic after all!
Iv is my fav. And driving is my fav part. No joke. and i dont give a shit what any1 thinks about it
GTA IV driving physics were actually based on old top gear, when Jeremy reviews a 1986 Lincoln Towncar, so kinda ironic to comment that
These 3 are only ones who'll be daring enough do a show even in North Korea
Precious trio
I watched this in class and i could barely contain my laughter.
The Sound of Hammonds car boiling over is like: "OUCH...HOT,HOT...HELP ME!!"😂😂
Get one of these out on the open road for a long distance journey and they are heaven. widows up AC on stereo on set the cruise control to your desired speed and watch the miles roll by in cool comfort listening to your favorite song.
I would literally watch "The Grand Tour, learns knitting" and enjoy it because of these three British blokes.
Clarkson would struggle - it's difficult trying to knit with a hammer.
3:05 LOL! It happened to Jeremy again! It's like the British Leyland Challenge where the inner part of the door to his Rover didn't open!
that's one big green kettle Hammond has there...
I hate how clever “Thistle Do Nicely” is.
Jeremy and Richard's cars have proven everything wrong with Ford ingenuity
I have a 1963 Lincoln and it is excellent. 7 litres (430 cubic inches)....320 horsepower.....465 torks. I was getting 9 miles/gallon; but I changed jets and adjusted the timing and now I get 10. I haven't tried "sport" or "eco" modes yet, so I can't truthfully comment on the effects they'll have on fuel efficiency.
The car is softer than my overweight wife.
I would want at least 400hp for 10mpg, and torks?
May humming to Hammond's car, made me laugh😂😂😂
Jeremy: It's singing the song of death.

How about a video with 50 year old poorly maintained British Leyland cars being compared to 50 year old poorly maintained American cars next time?
That Buick is the cats nuts
........I've had lots of American cars....never seen a door fall apart...not even close. In fact, those parts are incredibly well anchored and you'd need lots of time and tools to get that part off. This was theater or a previous (European) owner was in there and half assed the reassembly.
this special is my fav so far, reminds me of the old Top Gear so much. probably because its in the UK.
TBH I really think Hammond's car is the best looking of the three, maybe it didn't go over well back when it came out but I think it looks way better than the other two.
It's like trying to get 3 big boats down a canal 😂
These boys r gonna be doing this in they're 80's and we'll still all tune in and love every second of it
Just a reminder that towards the end they all agree they are keeping these cars
Out of the hundreds of cars theyve driven for their shows, they said theyve kept 8
3 of them are these cars
I don't think they did actually keep them though
@@elementalb3m957 what makes you say that?
@@ConnorNotyerbidness I think there was a video before the special came out where this guy was saying the cars weren't destroyed because the Buick was seen on someone's driveway but it wasn't Richard's.
