Kyle and Hunter was another absolutely wild one too, about as close a chase as I've ever seen, especially with all the attempts at the end!

The last match is the clear scene of how seriously the athletes take wct,,when no matter how many times your knee got struck...u just go on.
Usually it was the Semis where all teams look strong. However, this might be the first time I've seen all 8 teams in QF performing such high level of chase and there was no "weak" team. Fantastic play.

@@pretzelkch8322 they’ve stopped competing and have other things going on now, but as you can see I’m always open for them to be around or come back
Although not necessarily surprising to see the teams that advanced, it is definitely fascinating to see lower seeds playing at the level they are now. Feel like you could make an absolute juggernaut of a roster by combining the best of Mvmentum, Talons, and Tempest (DD is a fairly deep roster as they stand, unfortunate injuries aside) that even established teams would be hard-pressed to contend with. Fair play to the top seeds moving on, some really interesting matches coming up now!
Kyle soderman and apex sun are just too OP
that first evasion by Kyle is maybe my favourite evasion I've EVER seen of his.

SPOILERS: The Hollywood vs Tempest match was a helluva a watch, if only Hunter had gotten that tag in chase 8, that game could’ve went off in a completely different direction

After watching this again I have a lot to say about the matches, so let's talk about them one bye one.
First we had HF vs Tempest and this was probably the best match of the entire competition so far, with those crazy chases of Kyle with Joe and Hunter, and the one from Omar and Sean. But even then it felt like there was nothing Tempest could do against this version of HF with a Kyle Soderman that may even break his evasion record from the first WCT USA (16 I believe).
I have mixed feeling with GNF right now, because they are one of the teams that I like the most in the US (them and APK blue), but it's clear they are stil rebuilding themselves after losing Davis and Seth, and I didn't see most of the new members reaching their level, it turns they're still capable of going toe to toe with the best teams, Seth Ruji is a great coach and it's been seen in this comp, specially with Jake that looks in his best shape since WCT 4. They may surprise me and win it all.
Now APK blue vs Atlanta went as I expected, with my favorite team in the tournament getting crazy evasions that may be in the top 8 of best chases (specially the one from Frank). Altought the talons didn't put it easy, they have a great potential, but there's still training to do, APK blue is too good for them right now, there's not a single weak player in the team, and I hope this can be the time for APK to reach the final.
I didn't know what to expect from this last match but I loved the result, Movementum will be a menace in the next tournament, without any experience they gave Apex ☀️ one of the funniest matches ever. Basically every Devin's chase here could be the best of the comp (we need a 1 on 1 match up between him and Michane), and the bear showed how good he is evading, they're not the B team of Apex and they are proving it here.
Semis is gonna be a fun one to watch. ;)
If ENVY GNF stayed together, they'd dominate the US division by now with quad access. Jarrod, davis, Julius ,Seth , Sean law and Jake are 6 of the most talented wct atheletes going. I feel like they'd take apex moon without Seth and Jason. Now envy GNF is no more, you can see how GNF isn't a powerhouse team but very technical and experienced, however it's just the unknown project+antidote pk these days. I doubt they'll win championships any time soon
@@jjprempeh2508 yes and no, tbh because Quad access helps a lot, but it depends what you do with that time and time alone isn’t the deciding factor. Look at Ky and especially FataMorgana. Ky had a month pre-panams of quad training. FM had no quad experience prior to competing at worlds. ;)
Last season’s GNF had overall experience but not necessarily quad time as that was limited then. I’m sure the royal blue boys will step up now they have a quad location close by, but we’ll see how much they can keep up with how quickly the sport keeps evolving.
@@jjprempeh2508 I do agree that they don’t seem like a powerhouse team currently but I feel like Laine is a great asset and didn’t play in this comp due to an injury.
Genuinely gutted for Tempest. Their roster right now is my favourite of any team.

We've seen way too little of Hunter this tournament. Hope they use him more next time! That speed was incredible.

You can only say "this match will be hard for this team because they have very little quad time" so many times haha. The reality is, i know all the Tempest guys trained super hard for this competition but Ky was the only one with the ability to have a ton of quad time. It's just the unfortunate thing about the sport right now. There's not a lot of quads in the US and not having a quad is detrimental. Not many teams have consistent access to a quad.

HF might have been a one man team in the past, but Omar came the longest way to being top tier, Amos is so strong in a way that wasn't expected from the first Apex wins, and Mathew and Wes are really good. I think Dale has a little more way to go, but his fundamentals are amazing, and if he gets a bit more quad time, he'll explode, he's a great scrambler. HF went from a slanted team to a balanced strong team with an outstanding player, which in this championship kinda sounds like APK Blue and Frank Mejia too. Yes, Elijah is underrated, and Mark is incredible, but neither have shown to be difference makers so far in the PanAm, which Frank has. Having said that, both of them, Brother and Logan's levels are all top tier as well. So yeah, two excellent teams, with one difference maker right now.

Also a totally diff GNF squad.
we don't have A and B teams, just 2 great teams. Apex Moon was first and the next year, we had enough interest and talent to start another 😊

Super high level chases this time. We need mats outside the quad though with players falling out of it all the time.
Here's an idea. I'm not sure of all the work-arounds to actually getting it to work, but could be something like the athletes wear some sort of laser tag style all over suit so when one person who touches the other part of the suit, it will say they were tagged. Instead of relying on cameras that can't see all angles. This happens too often
Sodermam is totally the Jon Jones (mma) of WCT and that run from Carson and Matt @30:16 was like that intense match between Goten and Trunks!!!! Insane!!!

Apex sun strategy to chase down is really repetitive. At least it works, but it's not that entertaining since there is few options available for the evaders, maybe they should modify the obstacles another time to give more chance to the evader, or at least to force chasers going down from the obstacles to get tags... Congrats for all the teams, but I'm looking forward to see new fresh teams like MVMNTM make some progress.

Why HFR players are kind of despising every single team they play against? All other teams show such a great respect for their rivals (even Apex to MVM!). Tempest is suuuch a great team, not a 1-player team at all
Not everything said will be in the pre-match interview. Keep in mind time constraints, and that WCT production (or whoever does it) has a narrative they push as well.

Ky has had quad time which the rest of Tempest hasn't, and Tempest doesn't have the depth that HF have. HF right now is excellent in a way they weren't before, Kyle is still top 3 in the game, but the rest of the team isn't that far behind anymore. Also, this feels like a snippet of an interview, and it seems very analytical, not mean or disrespectful or in context. So really, if you have an issue with it, take it up with production.
