The Manticore is the ultimate terror weapon used by those of the upmost faith of themselves and their cause. If you engage a Manticore in melee combat, you either lose, or you *lose*. Manticore is my Mech of choice. And I always have my engine overcooked, because it is the most 4d chess mind-games that makes you always win no matter what.
I don't always pilot a Manticore, but when I do, I shout dawn of War space marine lines non-stop. I mean the flavour text for the Catalyst Pistol is *this* close to being BURN IN HOLY FIRE!
The intro gave me chills from how well it was edited and composed, but it also made me spit my coffee from seeing a Eiland-class battlecarrier not only flying in-atmosphere, but being used as a transport. If you didn't know that it is a 3km long spaceship dotted with hangars for smaller ships and carrying a spinal super heavy weapon, then I'm glad to inform you it's basically the big brother of the Kuun-Laan from Home world Cataclysm. If you did know, then I applaud your guts; Michael Bay would be proud.
This video is so damn good edited that I caNOT believe it has only 900 likes over 2 months, Im new to lancer and i´ve been mastering it for just a few weeks, but I really like the game and you just made me LOVE IT even more

A few inaccuracies, which by no means ruin the video: 1. The Lancer is the pilot, not the frame. Most people can operate a mech, those are 90% of the enemies you fight. Lancers are different, they're the best of the best, piloting the best of the best. 2. Lancer was designed to be played on both grid and hex maps, but most of the pictures showing spacing are hexes, because they need more explanation. Also hexes are cooler. And that's it! Great video, don't forget to download the .lcp files from the content manager in comp/con to get more free licenses and rules. All player facing content is free, and there are plenty of third party options as well. Hope this finds you, and finds you well.

The blast cloud is a burning storm: until the end of your next turn, characters within the affected area receive soft cover, and characters that start their turn within the area or move there for the first time in a round take 4 burn.” And finally if you roll a it fires with the range of 30, dealing 4d6 and “Objects and terrain in the area automatically take 100 AP explosive damage, and characters become Shredded and Stunned until the end of their next turn on hit. As a mech, it's basically self-propelled artillery; kinda mid. But nothing beats when the BBEG rolls up with an orbital laser and you just go NU UH and swat it out of the sky.

Thr funniest shit you missed out from HOROS is that the general population of the entire galaxy doesn't know of their existence. But regardless they just will randomly give civilians their mechs for no reason other than because they're shitters. There's even a table you can roll on to decide how your unwittingly PC came across owning a HOROS Frame. My personal favorite being You were SUPPOSED to print a different frame but instead the hull melted off and reveals what you actually printed
It's really good, but doesn't represent the game accurately at all. People with bad or no imagination are going to have their expectations much higher than their reality allows for.

I like to animate stuff to give the viewer more things to look at than just some text and some art. You are right, it dosent accurately represent how the game plays and thats actually intentional. TTRPG´s takes place in the theater of the mind, the way we play/roll shape how we imagine something went, the animations are visual representations of those imaginations. Hope that clears it up. i can confirm that this posh bastard used my drawn art (with permission) to bully my femboy throughout the video and there are other artists who donated their work. i cant attest for 100% of the art (especially the backgrounds), but alot of it is hand made by actual artists (the lancer community also is very much an art community at least so i recognize many of my peers art that werent involved with the campaign)
I hear you. I decided to use AI art because of the animations I wanted to do. I required a certain style of art that there wasnt much of (futuristic, varied battlefields in certain locations and angles). So in order to not have to spend millenia searching for matching styles, I generated the backgrounds for the battles. It ended up being the easier choice. Hope you still enjoyed the video tho

You have a lot of mistakes in your explanation. Some big ones are -Movement can happen at any time betwene actions. -Only superheavies take barages to fire. Heavies can allways skirmish

@afreemanornot Well, definitionally speaking, Lancer does have quite a bit of communist propaganda in it. Propaganda is just trying to convince someone of any given political belief, and imo Lancer does do that (pretty effectively even). Ultimately, what Lancer is saying is that a better world is possible, it's worth fighting for (violently, if there is no other option), and that the way that better world looks is a classless, cosmopolitan society that provides everyone with their basic needs and explicitly does not use currency once it's fully implemented. That's quite explicitly pro-communist. Propaganda isn't inherently a bad thing. Trying to convince people of stuff that is actually, like, good, is obviously something worth doing
The fanbase I cant comment on cuz I dont engage with it. The company, I havent seen been doing weird shit so no clue about that. The game itself is a fucking banger tho. If you´ve got a group you can make some really good times happen

Especially not the official discord server, which is notorious for banning people for asinine reasons by power tripping mods. Take the setting with a grain of salt, and treat it like a sandbox for your own adventures and you'll have a good time. But if you try to actually engage with the community and follow the intentions of the creators and their stories you'll quickly run into problems.
