I really want to take a Virgin cruise next year to celebrate my birthday. Thanks for the tip of the status-matching - I'll need to check that out!. Really looking forward to your upcoming videos for this trip! I find it very cute how you get awkward with the double-entendre wink wink stuff. Your pajamas are as wholesome are you are. 😉
Ha, what a lovely comment - thanks so much! I did really enjoy my time on here, but couldn’t help blush in parts. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment!
Nice video! Love the cruise terminal - can’t believe you were the only ship there! Miami is always a lovely Sailaway. I don’t know if I could take that curtain over the closet or that blue wristband, but the other band that does electronic things a key card normally does is good. I also like casual dress, because I don’t know if I could dress up on Cunard like they require! Pizza and ice cream looked good, free bubbles and running track were nice; solo cabin not bad. I just don’t think that entertainment and all that red is for me!😂
Hey Cheri, thanks for watching as always! ❤️ You know, I think the red looks more offensive in photos than when you’re on there - it doesn’t feel intense at all onboard. Who knows - maybe I’ll sway your opinion with the next few videos… Watch this space!
That was excellent Fraser, thank you so much. I felt I was really along with you, and it made me think differently about Virgin Cruises. They might be for me after all. I liked it was chilled, you could go on your own, people and crew seemed friendly and there was vegetarian and vegan options.

Enjoyed this, thanks! Love that terminal! The blue bracelet band long, hanging end would drive me completely insane! The closet curtain is ridiculous. What were they thinking? 😂 Virgin isn't for me, but I admit there are some really great features on their ships! You needed a balcony so you would've had a hammock. (Was that a Royal Caribbean t-shirt you wore for embarkation? 😉)
Ha, well spotted with the tshirt - you weren’t the only one to mention that on the day, haha! Yeah, the curtain drives me insane every time - I just don’t get the benefit of it!
Thanks Fraser, for another wonderful video. You have such a bright and positive personality. I feel like I am traveling to these interesting destinations with a good friend.
Fraser, sailed on the Scarlet Lady & very much welcomed the experience. We enjoyed the theming around every corner. The size of the ship fit like a comfortable jacket. Oh my, the food was abundant with variety & flavors. Crew and fellow passengers were very friendly. We had a grand time. I’ve read through the comments & noticed (in my book) small hurdles that made a no deal to cruise. Unfortunate, there are so many great experiences from food, ambience and activities that outweigh small potatoes stuff. But hey, whom am I to judge how one wishes to spend their vacation. Just thinking they’re missing out 😀. Enjoying your experiences and Thank U !
Hey Shawn, great comment - thanks so much for taking the time to type this one out. I’d tend to agree - I think the theming of the ships is really lovely - the only thing I’m not keen on is the cabin corridors. I thought they felt a little bit like a budget hotel… Thanks for being here - great to see your name pop up!
Oh, you really must try Virgin - thanks so much for watching! I really do love Virgin - they're SO different to any other cruise line I've experienced so far!
Enjoying your videos Fraser. Virgin are unique in what they offer and upset a few traditionalists but I loved sailing on Valiant Lady a couple of years ago. The food is fantastic and the ship has some lovely bars and seating areas. I’m not a mega party person but was able to escape scarlet night and have a few quiet drinks instead. I’d definitely sail with them again if the dates and itinerary worked for me.
Hi Keith, thanks for dropping a comment! I’d agree - I’d sail with them again, for sure! I was really impressed with the ships - they’re beautiful! Thanks again for your support!!
Great video, Virgin are a bit different but cruising is so much better for it. Their terminal in Miami looks fantastic and a low capacity sailing is always a winner 😊
I totally agree - they’re doing some things just so differently. I wasn’t sure of them to begin with, but they’ve really grown on me as a brand. Thanks a lot for watching and commenting mate!
Hey Fraser, great video. I’m actually going with my +1 this Wednesday for a 5 day cruise. The ship capacity is about 2,700. Curious to know how many people were on your cruise? Also, when making reservations to eat, did you fold it! beneficial to reserve for the afternoons or the evenings?
Hey! Ah, have the best time, and thanks for watching my video! I don’t know how many we had on - seemed busy though lots of the time, but it’s always so tough to guess a number. Booking the evenings - yes! Lunch was fine, but book dinner for sure! Have a great cruise!!
Great intro to Virgin Voyages out of Miami. Your videos are really great now - how are you not yet over 10K subscribers?! The food options look delicious; also looking forward to seeing you try to get through the generous bar credit, cheers!🍻
It looked great fun , pleased you enjoyed the new ship , amazing it wasn’t full . Loved the decor very Virgin . It is certainly not for us , being “ slightly “ older 😂😂we are into smaller ships 2000 people at the most . Really enjoyed your video of it though , always good to see other ships .
Ahh, thanks for watching, even if Virgin maybe isn’t your bag. It’s such a fun cruise concept - already looking forward to my next one. Just need to book one 😂
@fraseratsea, did Virgin fix your suitcase so you could "carry on " for your next cruise ? Thank you for this review. We're 70/76 and Nov 10 will be our 2nd Virgin Cruise this year.
Hello! They didn’t fix the case, but did sort me out with compensation, so all was fine in the end. Thanks a lot for watching, and have the best trip. I always smile when I hear of your age range doing Virgin - so many people in that category are missing out by not giving them a try! Have a great day!
@@FraserAtSea I agree with you. We did feel a bit old until we got involved and people saw that we were there for the fun. You have to "put yourself out there" a bit to not feel like you're too old. Age is just a number.
Great video. I'm looking to book a Virgin Voyage for early next year. Who did you book through to get your $300 bar credit ? Will be my first ever cruise so still working through options so be good to get your impressions of how this ranks against others.
Hey, thanks for watching, Graham! I booked through an independent travel agent in the U.K., and this was a standard offer at the time of booking. Thanks for trusting me with your first cruise - hopefully the rest of my channel can support you with the other lines too!
Good question! There’s nothing before check in - everything here is after check in. As soon as you arrive, you’re filtered through the check in process :)
Ha, a few mentioned it on embarkation day - I found it funny, ha! At the end of the day, I’m a paying passenger, so can wear whatever lines clothes I buy, ha! Thanks so much for watching!
Could you please give me a pool and spas review. Is the water nice and heated? Is there definitely somewhere to have a nice non crammed swim. This has been my on,y real issue with booking a virgin cruise, I am a water baby. Thanks again Fraser
Hey! Virgin ships aren’t designed for swimming at all - you can dip, but can’t really swim. Some other ships do have much better pools though! If you head to my channel, you’ll find a ship tour of this ship, which will show you the pool and deck spaces in better detail!
That's a really interesting look at Virgin. What was the occupancy like, as it didn't seem full even at dinner or in the entertainment venues (although I appreciate that you don't want to be putting a camera too close to people)? The pyjama party looked much busier. Loving the status match, which I wasn't aware of, and the cabin layout and decor. I've never sailed Virgin as I had the (possibly unfair) thought that they try so hard to be cool that they end up deeply uncool. I'll be interested to see your verdict.
Hey, thanks so much for watching, and for taking the time to comment! I do appreciate your point about ‘trying to be cool’, but it actually does work really nicely. It depends largely on the buy in from the passengers - everyone was ‘up for a good time’ on this sailing, which made it so fun! Dining venues on this cruise were no issue at all - I’ve heard that it’s tricky to get tables on busier sailings at your preferred dining time, but no issues on here. More episodes enroute - watch this space!
I didn’t in the video actually - I stayed at Blue Moon Hotel at South Beach - great location, and actually quite good value compared to other options locally. Thanks for watching!
Departed Miami on NCL Joy in January, was amazing especially when we went past Icon of the seas, NCL uses card system instead of wrist band wasn’t great especially if you loose it😮
Ace episode...bring on the free champoo! One thing that no-one seems to point out about the ship is just how claustrophobic it seems (on videos). The ceiling seems to be lower and there are far less big windows & open spaces compared with other ships. Wonder if that's really the case?
This is such an interesting point - I’ve never noticed this on the ships, and actually feel that there’s lots of ocean views on Virgin ships. Great comment though - I’m sure lots will appreciate this!
