I remember when Stoneforge Mystic was banned in standard. However you were allowed to play it if, and only IF, you played with the exact deck that was off the shelf. Wizards saw it unfair to new players to sell a deck that you couldnt use. So I wonder if you can play with Haven still if you play with the exact deck off the shelf.
Excuse me, how do we ìnclude those double-sided cards (like Kabira) into our deck? I guess, we are supposed to put them into the usual sleeves (opaque back) and needed to take them out of that sleeve ingame to change it to the side we want to cast? ... ((meaning, I should very well know the backside's card text, or else I'd be fumbling around with in and out action in front of everybody ^^))
Yes, either use sleeves and flip them around as needed during the game, or you can write the names from each side of the card you're replacing on those blank cards. When you want to cast the spell, you can swap in the actual double-sided card.
I was thinking of getting back into Standard and then you said one of the cards in the Challenger deck was banned O_O wtf is that. I quit YGO because of that, and now MTG does it to sell product?
This is nothing new. MTG has banned cards in various formats for years. What's unusual here is that particular Challenger deck is still considered Standard-legal as long as the deck itself remains unmodified. In any case, the deck is mostly no longer Standard-legal when the next set is released in September. Pioneer, Modern, or Commander formats don't rotate, but have their own separate ban lists.
@@MTGUnpacked That's cool I've always wanted banned cards to be legal in certain decks. Didn't Standard really start banning cards in like, 2019-ish? I remember Oko being the first big case.
First Standard bans were in 1995 at the creation of the format! We just had a particularly bad run of OP cards around the time of Throne of Eldraine in 2019. That set was busted!
@@Sheikah_Architect its a good starter deck for pioneer. You get quite a few good cards and trade the rest in and you are basically good to go for a budget white weenie version.
Looking back on the challenger decks, the standard ones are complete wastes of time and money. The pioneer decks on the other hand are very nice as long as you get the right one.
Nice of them to release decks that are mostly comprised of stuff that’s getting ready to rotate out of standard

Then as I finish typing and hit send, you answered my question lol
Hey guys, how do you think it would fare in Pioneer format out of the box?
Thank you for all of ur hard work
I preordered all of them except the rakdos one

Good deck?
It's decent, but no longer Standard-legal after rotation.
