Here's an adviser to anyone who battles Magnus Von Grapple 2.0: Before fighting him, MAKE SURE both Mario and/or his Partners have the Defend Pulse Badge Equip, and if you only have one, MAKE SURE the one with the Defend Pulse Badge Equip is in the front row when Magnus Von Grapple 2.0 does its Machine Gun attack, as it can do 30 damage, also remember is that Magnus Von Grapple 2.0 will always use the Machine Gun move to the character that is in the front. I fought this guy today, and at first, I was doing great and I had him down to 1 HO, but then I decided "Ok I think I'll let Mario tank the Machin Gun attack, I mean I'm sure he'll....." and then......Magnus Von Grapple 2.0 K.O's Mario with the Machine Gun attack....I just stood there staring the Game Over screen with a shock expression, thinking to myself "Oh.....crap......" and THAT....was one of the most unpleasant experience I had in a playthrough of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. I still think for what its worth, this is a great boss fight, I just wish that one attack was less harsh.

You can also use power lift if you deal enough damage to him to get it to trigger in time
This guy almost obliterated me with that damn audience cannon attack, you're telling me that Lord Crump was Grodus' LEAST competent minion?!
