When I shop at Walmart, I see many carts filled with boxes of so called food that people are feeding their families. Reading the ingredients always deters me from buying ultra processed foods. I am happy to hear somebody is working on this health problem.

Why the fudge is the guy pushing impossible burger? It's basically processed food. Potato chips in form of a burger.

Very educative video. Infact ayurveda educated Indians about the right food to be consumed, advantages of intermittent fasting, thru hitha bhuk, mitha bhuk, ruthu bhuk. But people world over including India always trusted whatever US does and even to this day agriculture graduates are taught about ultra food processing and Govt of India even has the administrative structure called Ministry of Food processing. India is marching towards ultra food processing and obesity and T2D are both increasing along with NCDs. Despite all educative videos NCDs are increasing exponentially.....

Walmart- how about just not selling the poisonous food in the first place? Then you don't need to educate the customer in smart swaps, tags or what have you.

They don't make the food. They just sell it. Real food doesn't last long on the shelves. Processed food lasts years at least. Actually Walmart does sell fresh meat and veg, even some organic. They are not the whole problem. People would complain bitterly if they suddenly eliminated all the food in cans and packages. They might even go out of business.

I think the best thing they could do is educating their own workers and perhaps giving them discounts on real foods.

Better quality meat, eggs, butter, cheeses, full fat dairy, organic fruits and vegetables at affordable prices!!! Real food! Not Frankenfood!

grain fed beef is cheaper than beyond burger and more nutrient dense. Eat real food people, buy what you can afford, animal foods are cheap when you factor in metabolic disease cost

Unfortunately, grain-fed beef is garbage+poison, and destroys the environment to boot. The problem that what's-his-face doesn't understand is that cheaper is almost never better when it comes to food. You want cheaper and better? *Learn how to cook and buy real food ingredients.* Problem is it takes more time, but there are so many offsetting benefits that it's worth it.

@@forgoodnessache5399 yes grain fed is bad for the animals and the environment but when compared to lab produce "garbage" it comes in way ahead. And yes people need to cook. As someone who works in pathology and sees the many preventable surgeries do to diet I saw pay the price now or later your choice. Beyond burger is not going to improve your health or the environment

@@forgoodnessache5399 When you can't afford a doctor and have to choose between paying your rent and buying more expensive food, most people choose paying rent over being homeless. It's actually the healthier choice. Living on the street is quite hazardous and will shorten your life by decades at least. Even living in your car can be dangerous in cities. The luckier ones manage to live in a van in wilderness areas, but you still need some sort of income for that.

@@forgoodnessache5399 Factory farmed plant foods aren't good for the environment, either. This problem will NEVER be solved if we treat it as merely a personal choice. Factory food is government subsidized to be cheaper. It's time to subsidize real and organic food instead.

Twenty somethings often eat the WORST food. When you eat at home, you lose weight if you eat less processed food. Even just the damaged "vegetable" oils and MSG in restaurant food can cause weight gain despite avoiding the sugar.

Pixie Sticks? Yuck. If I never had Kool Aid, Pixie Sticks, Pop Rocks, cotton candy, soda, Tootsie Rolls etc. again, I would never miss them. I hate coffee, and it makes me jittery. On the other hands, I love chocolate, ice cream, cheesecake, etc., which all have fat--although I can live without them and ZERO withdrawal symptoms. What does that make me "addicted" to?

Starbucks gets away with raising their prices because people are addicted to caffeine? Why couldn't people just get cheaper coffee or one of those Red Bull type drinks? Even buying one of those fancy machines would be cheaper than buying Starbucks every day. The cream, sugar, and coffee flavorings are all there in the supermarket, too.
