- In this video, I review the fundamentals of aiming in Halo, and first person shooters in general using the left stick on your controller (with the Xbox Elite Series 2 as an example used). This video prioritizes teaching viewers how to improve their aiming abilities, differentiating between using the right stick for general aiming which works against the autoaim, and left stick aiming which trains you to outmaneuver and outaim your opponents.
The key fact to remember in Halo (and any FPS) is that sensitivities vary from player to player, but movement speed is locked in most games at all times to a singular speed. This works to your advantage left stick aiming, because you can lead your shots more effectively when you aim based primarily on movement, rather than how fast you can turn around. Positioning is more important then reactivity in Halo.
This got me a 17 bomb in fortnight my aim improved so much I was perfecting my left stick aim and with 2 weeks of practice I think I got it thank you !
Anytime!
Excellent advice in this video my boy! Nothing can replace halo 3 and/or the BLAM! engine. Slipspace engine is donkey piss. Got a good laugh about your elite teabag remark lol - very mental based game, and I agree. Getting out BR'd then bagged by a Dino is just degrading xD I missed a couple pointers during your commentary due to the unfortunate mic cut-outs, although I get the gist of your main pointers. Dope video man
Wait so is your aiming binded to your left stick or is it still binded to movement?
I can only really see left stick aiming being useful for left handed people as aiming with your dominant thumb would be better.
The dominant thumb is better from micro adjusting when you aim but your movement specifically in halo is best for tracking and leading your shots effectively. For example, if someone is walking from a medium to long range distance in sand trap towards a power weapon like the Spartan Laser. You want to aim at the weapon rather than the player, so they walk into your BR spread.
