The Soundwave mold of this toy that was released for Bumblebee was the toy that got me back into transformers collecting in 2018, after a decade of disinterest in the things. It’s neat to see the Blaster version, def was clearly the intended character for the mold - but as a Second First, that Soundwave will always hold a special place in my collection
I have the Bumblebee Soundwave... I love the 80s Radio/Cassette player vibe of that retool... this blaster seems like it compliment the Bumblebee repaint much better
My dad got me that one my 13th birthday a few years ago. He's my definitive Soundwave, but I've recently grouped him with the rest of my movie collection instead of my Generations/Animated/Aligned shelf.
I looked everywhere and never got that version of it. Just bought the Original Titans Return from my friend. It’s a great mold. But I don’t like blaster as much
I have TR Blaster, and aside from the size, he always underwhelmed me. How he transformers, the plastic feel, the gap at the torso in boom box mode, the poor chest gimmick with the window always popping out, all just irks me. I'm not a huge Blaster fan, but the Kingdom/Legacy version despite being smaller and having less plastic just feels chunkier to me. It's obviously better engineered since it doesn't have to be a base mode and a headmaster too. TR Blaster not bad, but meh. This Takara Legends though looks really nice though. Definitely a good display in Robot mode imo.
Always liked this figure and seeing the Takara version compared to the regular Hasbro makes me want to paint the Hasbro one up like this. But for now I'll leave him in his boombox mode, held in hand by the titan class Fortress Maximus lol
Dude that figure is actually so good. Unfortunately as of now I've only got the bbm soundwave but even still that figures like top 10 in my collection. (And the fact that it soundwave doesn't hurt)
I wish the torso didn’t look so much like a torso in alt mode. Overall kingdom seems more solid/consistent, but I do prefer the robot mode on titans return much much more
I remember really wanting the Soundwave version of this mold, the standard release, seeing over and over when I went to some toy stores, but I could never afford it. I was always hoping for the eventual discount since it looked like no one wanted to buy it, and I eventually did get it. It has a special place in my heart after hunting for it for so long
Yeah I adore this figure. While the Kingdom one is better for scale and being modern, this is a really fun toy. I like to pretend the base mode is a club for Titan Masters with Blaster's little guy as the DJ.
Blaster was the first version of the mold. But the splitting speaker legs didn’t look good at all to me… Soundwave was the second version of the mold. His legs hid the speakers more for being a different boom box. Later on his cassette remold in Bumblebee Movie Target Exclusive line did awesome
The Takara Legends line is awesome and this figure is a great example of why. I definitely paid more than $35 for mine though but that was before the Kingdom one was announced!
This is an EXCELENT mold. Scale be damned. The Legends version is much better looking than the standard Hasbro. Maybe I should get the Reprolabels to "Legendify" my Hasbro. BTW, get the Soundwave if you don't have it already. I have the Hasbro with the Reprolabels and that looks BOSS.
I think the ankle issue comes from people not knowing where to plug the assemblies in. Had to show a few friends how it worked back in the day, when it first released
There are four possible ways for the ramps to be installed within the speakers/legs. It's not entirely clear which is the best way. They can be reversed forwards and backwards within one leg or vice versa on the other side.
I have the Hasbro version of this and it is still my favorite mold for Blaster. And being American and also bias he was one of my very last Toys R Us purchases. I'm also just a huge Blaster fan.
I think about this often the new toys are great don't get me wrong but there's something about the older toys that are just so much more fun like the gimmicks were awesome and they had imperfections yes but it gave us something to talk about with the figure
This is cool. I got this Blaster when he was released. I honestly prefer the Kingdom one, mostly because of the accuracy he has from the cartoon. But i do love the comic accuracy the Titans Return one has.
Honestly the base mode looks more like a stage for some titan master festival, like the grey areas could be dance floors and the folded out tapedeck could be the stage for a dj Which fits blaster exceptionally well in my opinion
My favorite G1 Blaster will always be the Universe/Cybertron-repaint, but I want to get this one as I got the Ramhorn Titan Master & love the idea of this being a kind of mobile base for Blaster & his cassettes that Ramhorn can jump in and operate like a mecha XD
Excellent figure, was going to keep as my main Blaster mold, but the Earthrise Soundwave needed the Legacy Blaster to compliment in my display… so now I’m using this version as an action master stand in. Definitely an overlooked gem.
I have to say, this Legends version is way better than the Hasbro version. The added white and blue on the Headmaster gives the face a lot of pop where the Hasbro was just to dark to see anything. And the extra white bits really makes the base mode stand out. I still prefer Kingdom as I am a cartoon accurate guy.
I think that Blaster comic might be the only one that actually exists. Like I don't even collect comics, transformers or otherwise and I still own that exact issue.
I liked this toy when it first came out. I still do, but I feel like it's definitely the inferior toy compared to Kingdom/Legacy Blaster. I fiddle with Kingdom Blaster constantly, and I can't say that I was ever overly fond of transforming the Titans Return figure. Mine never quite held together tightly in boom box mode, and I always felt like the transformation had exactly the wrong combination of overly simplistic and needlessly fiddly to get into alt mode. The robot mode and base mode were quite awesome, but what I wanted from it was a killer boom box, and it never quite felt like that was delivered.
I have the soundwave mold of this toy that was released for the buzzworthy bumblebee line by hasbro, and yes. The ankles are loose. Also, the held gun broke on my copy. The handle of the gun snapped off in his hand.
I love the Kingdom figure, but *god* I wish it had this headsculpt instead of it's cartoon one, or wish they had of at least changed it for one of it's two releases
Initially, I had no interest in either version of this iteration of Blaster, I was good with the retool of Fall of Cybertron Soundwave. Then I saw an interesting couple of pictures that X2 Toys did of a fan made base mode that just looked absosmurfinlutely SICK. So my wife got me TR Soundwave for Valentine's Day 2017, and I was rather hooked on the mold!! Plus, it was hilarious having the inverse of the G1 toys where Blaster was larger than Soundwave...now it's the other way around!! Seeing Takara's Blaster again, however...I'm starting to not care that the mold's durability sucks in such a way that my Soundwave got to where it can't ever go into boombox mode (it'll flop right apart now) in a matter of months...I kinda want this mofo!!
I still love the Legends/Titans Return Blaster and Soundwave. Their Transtectors base modes are "tiitanmasters" dance clubs based on the G1 episode... Dancitron and Blaster's Blues. So I'm happy with the scale. The stories are told in the Legends manga. I eventually want the Legends versions for this reason and skip the Kingdom/Legacy versions.
4:55 I might know what's happening. There are long thin plastic 'pins' that have to pass through a small hole in the ramp and peg into the far side of the leg in order to close him up completely. With the pin/shaft out of that hole, it almost closes but not quite. Sounds like your problem.
I prefer the Kingdom version. I like the boombox mode better, it looks less awkward and I prefer the new tapes...EVEN THOUGH THEY HAVEN'T RELEASED ANY FOR BLASTER ASIDE FROM CLEAR BLUE EJECT...HASBRO! I prefer not having a Headmaster and I get liking the visor if you're into the G1 comics but I'm G1 animated so I like the cartoon look better. The Takara release of this toy is colored better but I just don't like the aesthetics of this one over the nice, compact yet intricate Kingdom Blaster. To each their own I suppose.
Since the WFC Trilogy that each collector have the Tape Cassettes, what if Hasbro use the Titans Return Soundwave And Blaster mold to have it engineer to put inside
This is a cool figure but in my opinion the Kingdom is better. The gimmicks were fun but I find everything else more satisfying on Kingdom. Though I wish they would do a marvel comics version as that is where Blaster shines. Still like the cartoon but the comics win in this case.
The figure that really sold me on collecting was Siege Jetfire. Best guy I have bought. The guy is just imposing, and is no doubt one of my favorite characters in G1.
Damnit dude, I already wanted this figure to begin with. You keep showing him off and it's making it worse.....lol, im gonna have to pick him up. I'm gonna try to hold out until TFCON in Chicago this year. Another sweet video homie.
Love your vids but I honestly don’t get the love for this figure. I got it back in tr and thought it was a bit underwhelming. Honestly for me it’s the opposite where kingdom was everything I’ve wanted in a blaster figure.
1:09 A pain know all too well I own that Bumblebee Soundwave that was the Titans Return but darker and I thought it was ok I might get a Blaster because I love the Marvel comic version and it would be cool to have a version of him. Also thoughts on Legacy Armada Starscream and BW Inferno?
A bit late but I have the Hasbro version and once the ramp fell off and I tried putting it back on but put it on upside-down and it didn’t transform correctly so maybe that’s the problem?
Ahaha! But you *CAN* connect TR to AIR lock! You need Siege Titan Class Omega Supreme… and his giant-ass wing things… But still! Not at ALL worth it. OS is worth it for other reasons… but… come on. Retool the AIR lock Battlemasters to be adapters. PLEASE HASBRO
I have BOTH the TR & Kingdom/Legacy Blasters, as well as my original G1 Blaster... I like both of them for similar and also for different reasons, even customizing additional "cassettes" (data storage devices 😅) for TR Blaster, since Hasbro just LOVES TO $#!T ON us where his cassette companions are concerned...😠😡🤬🤬🤬 Case in point, the Kingdom version comes with a TRANSLUCENT version of Eject?! WTF...?!! Twincast comes with a TRANSLUCENT Rewind?!! Seriously, Hasbro...?!🙄🙄😮💨😠😡 The last Ramhorn figure was a TR figure that wasn't a cassette or data device, but no Steeljaw or Eject... We got "Stripes" and I customized an Eject from an extra Rewind and an extra BB movie 4pk Rumble/Frenzy and Toyhax labels... Turned a TR Buzzsaw into a Sundor, and a TR Laserbeak into a custom figure called Nightraven... Kingdom Blaster needs his cassettes, Hasbro! As it is, I grabbed a Dr.Wu "Sword Dancer" aka Slamdance, set to augment his troops, since Hasbro doesn't seem to give a damn about doing so... Didn't want to buy Twincast really, but I'm getting him in order to get Rewind and add Twincast to my Diaclone line-up, I guess. Hopefully, Dr. Wu will go ahead and get us a proper Ramhorn and Steeljaw set, and maybe Sundor and Stripes too... Anyway, yeah, both versions of Blaster are great for different reasons, but it'd be great to have his cassette team to make him even better. 😊
The Soundwave mold of this toy that was released for Bumblebee was the toy that got me back into transformers collecting in 2018, after a decade of disinterest in the things. Yup, the Soundwave versions of this mold are great too.

It was one of the first one I got after a long while
This figure has aged like fine wine. I regret not getting it back in the day.
just buy it online right now with your credit card
Toyhax's 'disco mode' stickers for the base mode really improve this figure
I have TR Blaster, and aside from the size, he always underwhelmed me. How he transformers, the plastic feel, the gap at the torso in boom box mode, the poor chest gimmick with the window always popping out, all just irks me. Got this guy for my birthday and my only complaint is that now I have to wait and hope that they make more cassettes for him
One of the things I like about this Blaster IS his size, since now with SS 86 Grimlock you can have Blaster vs Grimlock like the comics.
His labels from toyhax make him look so good
Dude that figure is actually so good. Unfortunately as of now I've only got the bbm soundwave but even still that figures like top 10 in my collection. (And the fact that it soundwave doesn't hurt)
I wish the torso didn’t look so much like a torso in alt mode. Overall kingdom seems more solid/consistent, but I do prefer the robot mode on titans return much much more
In boom-box mode, there are slots that you can plug specific plugs like a USB or wired ear buds
I remember really wanting the Soundwave version of this mold, the standard release, seeing over and over when I went to some toy stores, but I could never afford it. I was always hoping for the eventual discount since it looked like no one wanted to buy it, and I eventually did get it. It has a special place in my heart after hunting for it for so long
Same, it was the first leader class I bought
Yeah I adore this figure. While the Kingdom one is better for scale and being modern, this is a really fun toy. I like to pretend the base mode is a club for Titan Masters with Blaster's little guy as the DJ.
Blaster was the first version of the mold.

I have this version, the hasbro one, and Soundwave and had no idea the titan master fits under the remote 😳 🤯
I waited so long for a more cartoon accurate Blaster. I’m happy with the outcome but I understand the respect for the TR version
Dude, I already got the Kingdom version but you sold me on this one
There are four possible ways for the ramps to be installed within the speakers/legs. It's not entirely clear which is the best way. They can be reversed forwards and backwards within one leg or vice versa on the other side.
7:01 Actually siege omega supreme has TR ramp connectors on the sides of the tracks
I have the Hasbro version of this and it is still my favorite mold for Blaster. And being American and also bias he was one of my very last Toys R Us purchases. I'm also just a huge Blaster fan.
I def agree. Kingdom as a figure is really good but TR really shines as being a toy.
I think about this often the new toys are great don't get me wrong but there's something about the older toys that are just so much more fun like the gimmicks were awesome and they had imperfections yes but it gave us something to talk about with the figure

I've always thought this figure looked amazing, always kicked myself for never grabbing it for myself
Love the base mode on ours ( my son and I ) play with him more in that mode than anything else.
I have to say, this Legends version is way better than the Hasbro version. The added white and blue on the Headmaster gives the face a lot of pop where the Hasbro was just to dark to see anything. I think that Blaster comic might be the only one that actually exists. Like I don't even collect comics, transformers or otherwise and I still own that exact issue.
I have the soundwave mould of this, it is so fucking good, such a hefty leader.
Ah yes the superior chad metal mask visor version of blaster
I liked this toy when it first came out. I still do, but I feel like it's definitely the inferior toy compared to Kingdom/Legacy Blaster. If I could only charge one thing it would be the headmaster gimmick. So annoying. But this is the Blaster I have with my MP collection.
Nice editing at the start 👍
While I much prefer Blaster's G1 Cartoon design compared to this, I will admit that this figure's Boom-Box Mode is really sick.
Fun fact they retooled this toy to make a sound wave version and I have it
I still love the Legends/Titans Return Blaster and Soundwave.
AKA Chip N Dale Rescue Rangers Cameo
I just paid 50 bucks for him the other day, and he came with rewind
Rather real working mp3 player blaster
I have the golden lagoon soundwave version of this and yeah, its amazing
4:55 I might know what's happening. There are long thin plastic 'pins' that have to pass through a small hole in the ramp and peg into the far side of the leg in order to close him up completely. With the pin/shaft out of that hole, it almost closes but not quite. Sounds like your problem.

Man happy to have enternet back great review
I really want to get a titans return Blaster, I miss him

Love your vids but I honestly don’t get the love for this figure. I got it back in tr and thought it was a bit underwhelming. Honestly for me it’s the opposite where kingdom was everything I’ve wanted in a blaster figure.

I own that Bumblebee Soundwave that was the Titans Return but darker and I thought it was ok I might get a Blaster because I love the Marvel comic version and it would be cool to have a version of him. Also thoughts on Legacy Armada Starscream and BW Inferno?
I see the size as a good thing because he's mp scale and as someone who has mp 13 I wouldn't have it any other way
I enjoy Kingdom Blaster more
He has a bass.
Heh
Heheh
I'd glue the headmaster to the helmet.
There is a titans return eject/rewind if you want a robot in his chest
Great video! God bless!
The transparent flap on the inside of the tray came off on mine and I could never figure out how to put it back
Goddamn I need this in my life
Great video and review!
I like the other one way more then the TR version I actually gave away my tr version but hey get what you want it’s your collection
If the arms were more detailed It would fit in the Michal bay universe
A bit late but I have the Hasbro version and once the ramp fell off and I tried putting it back on but put it on upside-down and it didn’t transform correctly so maybe that’s the problem?
Just a random question, how long does it take for bbts to ship to canada?
I have that figure but with different colours could you tell me why is that
Fun figure but the helmet on mine broke off after I transformed it for the 3rd time
What if kingdom use toy/comic blaster head? Will you like him more?
Ahaha! But you *CAN* connect TR to AIR lock!
You need Siege Titan Class Omega Supreme… and his giant-ass wing things…
But still!
Not at ALL worth it.
OS is worth it for other reasons… but… come on. Retool the AIR lock Battlemasters to be adapters. PLEASE HASBRO
I hated titans return soundwave so I feel the same about this blaster
I had the titans return Soundwave and the tabs didn't work on him either
Where did you preorder SG Blaster from?
I have BOTH the TR & Kingdom/Legacy Blasters, as well as my original G1 Blaster... I like both of them for similar and also for different reasons, even customizing additional "cassettes" (data storage devices 😅) for TR Blaster, since Hasbro just LOVES TO $#!T ON us where his cassette companions are concerned...😠😡🤬🤬🤬

Anyway, yeah, both versions of Blaster are great for different reasons, but it'd be great to have his cassette team to make him even better. 😊
I skipped the kingdom blaster to get the shattered glass version
Odd that the knee speakers on the bottom, but the ugly robot parts are on the side.
Maybe I'm just not a Blaster fan cause I really do not care for either Titans/LG or Kingdom lol
Gimmee a vid on monocrat megatank
I have the Soundwave version from hasbro, and it is abysmal.
Personaly i like kingdom more Than titans return/legends
I actually hate this mold sooooo much. The Soundwave Habsro release forever ruined this mold for me.
I’m sorry but I still think Kingdom Blaster is better. But the TR one is still awesome.
This blaster is g1 toy scale. Not g1 show scale.
Takara does what hasbron't?
Nah, doesnt work.
Rock needs less base .... Boom boxes were metal time...no thump please ..ac dc
In my opinion this guy had always been kinda a budget masterpiece blaster due to his scale to mp soundwave
Sup
Hey I have the original
Robot mode looks good but the tape deck mode looks like complete ass, legacy blaster is leagues better
Yo
Marvel comics superior, G1 cartoon inferior
