My dog was getting fed fake food like kibble and canned food. At 5 years old, he was overweight, inflammation in his joints, he could hardly walk, bad breath, I put him on canavore diet, he is almost 8 years old now, and he runs like a puppy again, his bad breath and gums improved, he's not in pain and better mood, no more limping, etc, etc, dogs DNA is 99.9 % wolf. I am doing keto at the moment. My arthritis pain is 99 % better, thanks, Dr. kenDBerryMD

We rescued a 13 year old, 17 lb wire haired terrier three months ago. (A gift to my husband for his 82nd birthday.). She was eating horrible cheap kibble and had been through surgeries for all kinds of lumps on her.
We put her on a raw carnivore diet...she's a different dog now! Runs around and so energetic and happy. So happy for her. And hubby has a dog that gets to sleep on the bed beside him, first time in his life. He's very happy now too. Now if I could only get hubby to eat like the dog. 🙄😄

My longest fast was 40 days, only water and electrolytes. Completely reversed my super high A1C and blood pressure, and improved my eyesight.
It also turned me to eating meat. I was vegetarian since childhood and hated the taste and sight of meat. During the fast I suddenly had dreams about eating meat, my body started telling me I need to eat it.

Hello from Menifee California. I'm 63, started watching you about 7 years ago. Started my Keto lifestyle then. I tried carnivore for a while but now I do a bit of vegetable, cheese and avocado. Still down 60 pounds and off all meds. I do IF on and off but to answer your question, the longest fast I've done was 45 days. Way back in the stone age of 1979 I wanted to enlist in the USAF but was struggling with weight at the age of 19, I was only 5ft 4 in so to meet the standards I had to either lose 30 pounds or grow 5 inches. I wanted it so bad I did a 45 day water fast and jogged for miles a day. I needed to weigh in at 155 to make it, I got down to 135 and left for basic training.

But yeah, I tapered down my food intake to soups and then went full water for a month and then eased back in with soups and then solid foods. The first three days were the worst. After that I was golden. It was a great feeling. I got to spend more time with the Lord during that time.

My longest fast has been three days. I take a two day fast each week. Each fast day I take minerals, including salt, with water, a minimum of five times a day, using roughly 25 oz of H2O to wash the stuff down. At 64, I've been eating Ketovore - 16 eggs, over a stick of butter each day - most of it in the butter coffee with a bit of cinnamon and two teaspoons of MCT oil. The blender makes it into an emulsion which tastes fine. The part of the butter not in the coffee coats the oversized coffee cup I cook the eqq whites in. The yolks I take raw.
I start with roughly nine macadamias, about twenty pistaschios, and 20-39 walnut halves. Along with that, 8 slices of c cheese. This started with Keto, and I was very happy with it. I got started with Ketovore by dropping the salad. Going ketovore improved visceral fat loss. I'd advise all on Keto to either go carnivore, or at least go Ketovore as I have.

It makes me so mad sometimes when I think about how so many times when I was a kid I just wanted to eat meat all the time and everyone was so concerned about me eating more veggies and carbs lol. If they'd just left me alone I might've been just a natural carnivore and possibly not have all these issues with carb addiction. My youngest daughter now hates veggies and mostly just wants to eat the meat on her plate and I'm all for it.

I usually eat one meal a day. The longest fast was seven days, when I first started carnivore. I had a lot of weight to lose back then. Doing well now on omad with occasionally one to two day fasts.
It is partially your fault, Dr. Berry. Thank you for my improved health! In my opinion, fasting is easier after becoming low carb adapted. I just don't feel hungry most of the time. And cravings for S.A.D. snacks don't happen anymore. Feels great.

Hi. From my experience, fatigue is common while the body adjusts, up to 90 days-ish. In the meantime, salting food well can help - some people even try a salt lick! Good electrolyte supplements are important for the 90 day transition period too and they may help with energy. Intermittent fasting usually means eating two meals within a 6 hour window and leaving 18 hours for your body to heal (autophagy) - in other words, no breakfast. If you have a good amount of fat in your dinner (and you can add slices of butter on top of cooked steaks, chops, etc. to help this), the fat stimulates a hormone called leptin which tells your brain you are satisfied and stops you wanting to eat more for a long time - after a short while, this really helps you avoid breakfast, and maybe even lunch too! As the doctor says though, just eat until you are comfortably stuffed :) I hope that helps. Good luck - you’re on the right path!

When I went carnivore I started using an iodised sea salt (called SoSalt) I have a pinch in my coffee and on every meal. Also a pinch in my daily electrolytes. It must be why my feet now feel a normal temp. Thanks for clearing up the mystery Dr Berry. I have been doing mostly carnivore for almost 2 years. I had peripheral neuropathy in my feet for no apparent reason that the doctors could find. It is now completely gone! The only time it creeps back is if I go off my carnivore diet. There is great hope. But you got to stick with it, forever in my case.

Thank you so very much (and your wonderful wife, Neisha, as well!!!) for the important and encouraging work that you do!!! I applied what I learned from you about keto to help my older husband lose 40 pounds and have perfect blood work in order to prepare him for surgery on an aortic abdominal aneurysm a couple of years ago. Although I’ve been low carb Alena and worked out my entire life where you helped me out directly with on vitamin D deficiency I had had a C4 injury. I’m a black belt in a lot of martial artist get these, but I thought that the weakness and muscle pain in my legs visit due to having that surgery maybe when some of the damage it was already done so I thought my problems and weak legs when I was walking and fatigue was due to that surgery until I was found with a D level of 14 ng/ml(!!!!) - you encouraged me to review the literature myself (I’m a Ph.D. Licensed clinical psychologist - so I’m all about reading and evaluating research - please continue helping people to change their health and thereby changing their lives. The difference from D deficient to “further along on the road to D sufficiency” is like night and day. Again - thank you so much!!!

Regarding managing stress at 38:20 in this video... I remember hearing a professional speaker say, "You're born... big stuff. You die... big stuff. Everything else in between... small stuff." That was in a talk I attended (in 1990) by Rosita Perez, and she was saying that was her husband's philosophy of life. Remember this quote next time you're stuck in traffic and late for an appointment.

Great information as always Dr. Berry! To answer one of your questions, the longest I've fasted has been 42 hours. It was supposed to be a 36-hour fast, but I wasn't hungry. I became hungry at the 42-hour mark.

The first time I ever fasted it was for nine (9) days. I only had water. My plan was to fast for 2 weeks, but it was so easy, and I felt so much better that I became concerned that I could become anorexic. (I know how I am!) I took a week to gradually return to eating normal. That was 30 years ago. Since then I intermittent fast every day now, and fast for several days, up to 7 days at a time, off and on. I'm 78 yrs. old now.

Q : Started my carnivore 4 days ago. Starting weight 267. My question is : How do I know I am in ketosis and burning fat? My sleep is already much better starting on day 2. Have done strict. LION diet for 4 days. Meat, salt and water or coffee. Amazing how quickly hunger is gone. Eating once a day. Thanks

Have never checked my ketones. When I started sleeping better and then having good energy during the day with no cravings I just assumed excess glucose had been burned out of body and I was burning ketones. Especially when I was OMAD. Good Luck to you.

I started this and I have learned so much from you I've lost about 30 lb or pretty close to it since September 5th, watched probably a hundred of your videos that may be exaggerating that but pretty close, I'm getting an education and I'm a guy that will look into things and make sure I know what I'm doing, interestingly though you live about 45 minutes from me in Camden I thought that was funny there you are right down the street and you probably saved my life I'm 53 years old. Did everything I could do to lose weight I was doing all the right things I thought, nothing was working. But thanks to you now I fully understand how the body works or at least for the most part... I understand how I've been fooled all these years now. Sugar, cholesterol, fat etc etc ....I just want to say thanks I appreciate everything you've done for me and are doing.

After months of having no appetite for eggs, I had a craving and ate 18 fried egg yokes (in butter) in a 24 hour period. No beef, just eggs. I’ve never done that before and now I’m over the craving and back to beef. Good video and I appreciate the format and variety of questions that you answer.

Question. Im 67 and very healthy on PHD for years. I found out I am BRCA 2 and 2 Oncologist have said I will have cancer and geneticist tell me my risk are 80 percent higher. They of course are recommending bilateral mastectomy. I am looking for research on healthy humans to refute these claims. Doesn't make sense to me. But, I don't want to be mistaken.
