i really feel bad for luca, he genuinely had no idea this would happen and did everything he could to fix it. but i agree with everyone, nobody should send hate to anybody. as luca said on his stream, he has already apologized profusely to those who deserve it. as fans, we dont need to demand public apologies from anyone and should instead support all the livers as they rebuild parts of the server. good luck to all of EN!!
if anything this proves they need to download a rollback folder every month because minecraft server crashing issues is very common and atleast we need a safety net/ plan B if everything goes south, like imagine if all of server got nuked, now that would been way worse
I can't even see how anyone can put BLAME on him. Having no advanced knowledge of game programming myself, this whole server-changing system sounds super complicated yet so delicate, like one small mess and huge portions could get ruined. Sure, maybe he was "careless" from the basic perspective of programmers, but paying a high risk just to download a map seems very inconvenient. I guess the biggest lesson from this was to get a backup for every instance when a big construction is completed...

Putting aside the mistake Luca made, it makes sense how this happened: world gen often changes to some degree between versions. Hell, I nuked my own single player world that way. Forgot to swap versions back to 1.17 from 1.18 after looking at the world gen changes, opened my single player world and the game freaked out and crashed. Reloaded on the the proper version and there was a fuck-off huge hole full of ocean right smack in the middle of where my house and nether portal used to be.
Oh yea i feel this lol, world gen difference is a bitch because of the compatibility of both version, honestly it's quite funny seeing some misplaced chunks here and there, but god if it ended up into something you owned...

I love Niji EN. Luca is right, he's so lucky to have them as friends. I just hope he'd let go of the guilt, coz everyone would help in rebuilding. And to be frank, everyone can make it better, especially with Iluna now so all can create more content out of rebulding and building new things. I also hope Pomu isn't just showing an "it's fine" face cuz she spent tons of hours too in Pomuniversal alone, and I'd feel for her being sad since I had watched her live in almost all of her Minecraft streams. But we know this fairy and her love for Minecraft. She'll definitely make things better along with other members.

@@nazunaaaaaa yeah, but even in the workplace, everyone are still human to feel genuinely guilty, sad, angry, upset, etc... and knowing Luca on how he brought himself in the company, it's to fill his loneliness ( he mentioned this in his zatsu before) with interactions not just from viewers, but with his friends in EN, and he did got that. he never referred other members as colleagues, but friends, senpais and kouhais, which is why his guilt is actually real.

Honestly, I'd mark this as a good thing that this happened. As someone else commented, the faulty backup system was a ticking timebomb that were very likely going to seriously screw everyone over eventually, and the fact that Luca managed to expose this massive fault in a manner that only resulted in a relatively small portion of people's work being lost is in all actuality a best case scenario. As long as the admins take note of the damage that can be done and improve their backup system, I honestly think this will ultimately be a good thing for the NijiEN server in the long run.
I actually agree! I'd say it's a wonderful opportunity for a lot of things, rebuilding, bonding, new memories, making the backup system more sturdy and sustainable, growth, challenge, ect. :)
Poor Luca. I know how that feels, to be responsible for screwing up other peoples work; it's just awful. I'm glad the whole gang is being supportive and making the most of it. NijiEN continues to be incredibly wholesome and deranged at the same time.
Wholly unfortunate scenario but everyone has the right mindset for this, is was an honest mistake so the best we can do is band together and rebuild. The creating in Minecraft is most of the fun anyways and it seems like NijiEN+ will come out stronger than before

The poor guy spent 6 hours removing the biome and flattening everything out I had no idea minecraft would do this, its crazy it can mess up this easy and spawn a whole new biome over already existing things. Its a shame the backups werent working properly, but at least they can pay attention to backups going forward. Learning experience And it does mean they have more room to build new things, try new things and have the new members build amongst them too. Luca was doing his best to make up for it. Also!! Its so cool pomus library has documentation of the 1st iteration of the world!
Minecraft changes the world format on updates, makes sense an old version would consider the newer world as corrupted and attempt to regenerate "corrupted" chunks. If anything I'm surprised it didn't end up being a complete world wipe, and I'd assume the damage might be more extensive then what we've seen. What Luca did was expose a ticking time bomb, without proper backups system it was just a matter of time before something like this happened.
Luca must've felt sad and blamed himself. It was an accident but maybe they'll look at this in another direction and will motivate to build something more and new. Plus, they are able to go on creative mode. Even Millie has been laughing it off. I can't wait to see what everybody has in mind for their new builds.

What was really heartbreaking is that you can hear it in his voice he is trying hard not to cry. I understand that so much work went into the builds, but people need to remember that this is a game. There is no reason to bash Luca for a incident he didn't try to do. Luca is a fun loving and amazing guy. He would never deliberately delete half of nijisanji server on purpose. I really hope Luca can pog it up soon because we as Lucubs love him no matter what. Only the real Lucubs will be here to support him.
He was acting as a true boss and friend, when something bad happens and you are at fault even if it's an accident, he rolled up his sleeves and got his hands dirty to fix the problem, also Luca apologized for his mistake and put in the hours to make amends while also being willing to help in other areas such as helping Millie or all he has and will do on the server till he feels he has properly made amends for what happed, though I hope he doesn't allow his guilt to ruin his life or send him down a depressed spiral since people like Luca can get lost in their guilt and depression very intensely.
The type of culture that these companies represent and within their individual talents it is exactly on display here. Nobody's mad at a genuine unfortunate mistake. They can be upset and annoyed at the situation but none of them are upset with Luca. I hope Luca understands that people can be mad at the situation and not mad or upset at the person who caused the situation. Even though one causes the other they're entirely separate things.

The other branches servers are very advanced and said that EN was in the stone ages with what they had before so this is their chance to come into their own and maybe even surpass the others with their server like what HoloID did compared to the other branches of Hololive servers.
He has the personality of someone who takes criticism and negative comments seriously and doesn't like making friends uncomfortable or truly angry he may tease, joke, and prank but he is not actually malicious and would feel terrible if he made anyone cry especially if they were crying either in fear or sorrow.

This event should be a learning experience and an opportunity to create a recurring task to always secure a data backup. The emotional distress Luca must have felt when the incident happened must be horrific. He tried to "fix" spawned biome for 6 hours straight, that's just blatantly unhealthy. I almost really crying while watching until I got to Millie's part 😂 seriously though, that was an accident. It's normal to be sad, it's even normal to be mad, but only blaming someone will not changing anything, it already happened. let past be the past and keep moving forward. that's what a real 'family' are. sometimes we argue but when one of the member make a mistake we forgive each other in the end anyway and then working together to rebuild what we lost. The End is still reset, pretty sure they have to fight the Ender Dragon again, but during Elira's stream, Finana and Pomu managed to reset the nether so all of that should be working again. I'm not sure if all their infrastructure is back but I know the guardian farm is working
I guess the real take away here is to make sure that there are monthly backups. so if someone makes an oppsies, it wont be such a big deal. Hope Luca recovers from his guilt. It is hard.
despite the wreckage, there's something very sweet about all of them making sure luca was alright. it was obvious he really didn't mean any harm, he spent 6 hours clearing the entire area and STILL felt even like that wasn't enough. he's so sweet. : ( im so glad pomu talked and comforted him.

Putting aside the mistake Luca made, it makes sense how this happened: world gen often changes to some degree between versions. Hell, I nuked my own single player world that way. Forgot to swap versions back to 1.17 from 1.18 after looking at the world gen changes, opened my single player world and the game freaked out and crashed. Reloaded on the the proper version and there was a fuck-off huge hole full of ocean right smack in the middle of where my house and nether portal used to be.
Oh yea i feel this lol, world gen difference is a bitch because of the compatibility of both version, honestly it's quite funny seeing some misplaced chunks here and there, but god if it ended up into something you owned...

I love Niji EN. Luca is right, he's so lucky to have them as friends. I just hope he'd let go of the guilt, coz everyone would help in rebuilding. And to be frank, everyone can make it better, especially with Iluna now so all can create more content out of rebulding and building new things.
I also hope Pomu isn't just showing an "it's fine" face cuz she spent tons of hours too in Pomuniversal alone, and I'd feel for her being sad since I had watched her live in almost all of her Minecraft streams. But we know this fairy and her love for Minecraft. She'll definitely make things better along with other members.

@@nazunaaaaaa yeah, but even in the workplace, everyone are still human to feel genuinely guilty, sad, angry, upset, etc... and knowing Luca on how he brought himself in the company, it's to fill his loneliness ( he mentioned this in his zatsu before) with interactions not just from viewers, but with his friends in EN, and he did got that. he never referred other members as colleagues, but friends, senpais and kouhais, which is why his guilt is actually real.

Honestly, I'd mark this as a good thing that this happened.
As someone else commented, the faulty backup system was a ticking timebomb that were very likely going to seriously screw everyone over eventually, and the fact that Luca managed to expose this massive fault in a manner that only resulted in a relatively small portion of people's work being lost is in all actuality a best case scenario.
As long as the admins take note of the damage that can be done and improve their backup system, I honestly think this will ultimately be a good thing for the NijiEN server in the long run.
I actually agree! I'd say it's a wonderful opportunity for a lot of things, rebuilding, bonding, new memories, making the backup system more sturdy and sustainable, growth, challenge, ect. :)

Wholly unfortunate scenario but everyone has the right mindset for this, is was an honest mistake so the best we can do is band together and rebuild. The creating in Minecraft is most of the fun anyways and it seems like NijiEN+ will come out stronger than before

I had no idea minecraft would do this, its crazy it can mess up this easy and spawn a whole new biome over already existing things.
Its a shame the backups werent working properly, but at least they can pay attention to backups going forward. Learning experience

Minecraft changes the world format on updates, makes sense an old version would consider the newer world as corrupted and attempt to regenerate "corrupted" chunks.
If anything I'm surprised it didn't end up being a complete world wipe, and I'd assume the damage might be more extensive then what we've seen.
What Luca did was expose a ticking time bomb, without proper backups system it was just a matter of time before something like this happened.

Plus, they are able to go on creative mode. Even Millie has been laughing it off. I can't wait to see what everybody has in mind for their new builds.

What was really heartbreaking is that you can hear it in his voice he is trying hard not to cry. I understand that so much work went into the builds, but people need to remember that this is a game. There is no reason to bash Luca for a incident he didn't try to do. Luca is a fun loving and amazing guy. He would never deliberately delete half of nijisanji server on purpose. I really hope Luca can pog it up soon because we as Lucubs love him no matter what. Only the real Lucubs will be here to support him.
I'm just impressed he was able to power through for 6 hours straight flattening that area.
He was acting as a true boss and friend, when something bad happens and you are at fault even if it's an accident, he rolled up his sleeves and got his hands dirty to fix the problem, also Luca apologized for his mistake and put in the hours to make amends while also being willing to help in other areas such as helping Millie or all he has and will do on the server till he feels he has properly made amends for what happed, though I hope he doesn't allow his guilt to ruin his life or send him down a depressed spiral since people like Luca can get lost in their guilt and depression very intensely.

The type of culture that these companies represent and within their individual talents it is exactly on display here. Nobody's mad at a genuine unfortunate mistake. They can be upset and annoyed at the situation but none of them are upset with Luca. I hope Luca understands that people can be mad at the situation and not mad or upset at the person who caused the situation. Even though one causes the other they're entirely separate things.

hope this vid goes around the right circles (@_@) i lucked out and happened to catch pomu + elira's vod last nights so when i was watching through luca's vod + the end of nina's jackbox stream today (she didn't cover the tech-y side of minecraft nuke she addressed comments towards him) it started feeling like ppl were getting confused wo context and reacting to either criticize luca or all other nijien livers bc ppl were jumping to conclusions about how deep the situation was ㅠㅠ hope more clips of everyone's empathetic reactions get seen! minecraft isn't over it's still going strong for sure

It's both sad and funny that the only source of wheat on the server now is in Elira's backyard
The End is still reset, pretty sure they have to fight the Ender Dragon again, but during Elira's stream, Finana and Pomu managed to reset the nether so all of that should be working again. I'm not sure if all their infrastructure is back but I know the guardian farm is working
I guess the real take away here is to make sure that there are monthly backups. so if someone makes an oppsies, it wont be such a big deal. Hope Luca recovers from his guilt. It is hard.
