The sleek car purred down ribbons of concrete. On either side rose so many tall buildings like monoliths. The saxophone whispered to the couple in the car as it raced downtown among the neon glow of the big city. No one ever left this place, not really. On the crowded sidewalks were freaks dressed in Armani and top hat debonairs. Money was the language of this town and everyone knew it. Everyone spoke it. Only in the alleyway shadows did you have the penny players and card shufflers. Slinking up to the hotel entrance, the chauffeur was at the passenger door, letting the gentleman out and he in turn held out his had to the dame in the long car. The first thing anyone saw were legs that seemed to go on forever. Ruby red nails and a diamond bracelet sparkled in the lights lining the underside of the Hotel entrance. You could tell she meant business and they weren't there for fun and games.
