The point of the walk is to raise awareness of the cause. By taking your shoes off you are seeing what it is like yourself not to have shoes. But it doesn't really make a difference, just taking the walk is the main thing.

That wasn't me, that was the person next to me. She didn't want people to walk barefoot b/c the place that we were in was kind of dumpy.
