This is a great first try! Obbies are very time consuming to make lol! Most viral games on roblox are viral because they had lots of hype before their release. I would suggest either advertising after you've uploaded your game or trying to make connections with bigger people if you want to make a viral game. I can't talk from experience but it's worth a shot!

Yeah, making towers with good deco, creativity and gameplay is one of the hardest things to do on roblox, I mean especially since you could fit so much gameplay in a 100x100x100 stud floor, and having to do that 10 or 9 times because a tower has either 9 or 10 floors makes it even harder

This is an amazing game for a first try.. I recommend running ads on the game to help it spread more out to people cause its not common to see a game not popular on your screen..

I made the game known as madd styles, and it takes a lot of hard work. The best thing you can do is to have a team. A builder, scripter, thumbnail maker, etc. Madd styles is slowly growing in popularity, and im super proud of it.

Super good for your first time! I recommend you to use free models, and check their scripts and learn by it. Just read their script and interpretate the code. Also, using youtube is good, but when your advanced it's not; it's better to make your own scripts, using dev fourms, free models, and help from developers and not copy off youtube. Good job!

I tried to learn scripting 3 times when I was 9 but I just kept giving up because I guess I was too young, now 5 years later I'm learning how to script 😃

I was interested in scripting when I was ~12 at my friends house. Now, I literally have a hobby & profession in scripting and not just on Roblox either

Im a game dev with 5m visits i can tell you that your game is to short to get a good playtime ( i reccomend looking at developer stats and seeing whats underpreforming) roblox now has a algorythm that if your game is doing well on play time retention and play stickines revenue etc your game will be reccomended to other people more and more the game itself tho is very good for your first real game

I'll tell you the story of how i made my most popular game (which had like 170+ players on the first day); "my new game!" (yeah i had no game name ideas).
First off i started searching on how to make a UTG (Ultimate trolling gui) which makes you convert into a script (based on script fighting ultimate btw).
Then i started designing my own scripts and animations with help of some pluggins, after that added an anime overlay to the roblox character and made a giant city map. Then i decided to make the game public for a while to see if some players liked it, i got 4-5 likes in about 5 hours and it was looking pretty good. Then i decided to make a rules UI and got some people to help me script and moderate the game, (which was free because im poor af lol) and it was turning pretty good. After that i started to advertise the game and even more people came by to check the game. 5th day i've already even made some robux of it, but as every game i've started to gain less players overtime. Then exploiters started to delete the map, kick/ban the players from the server or more, and some players thought that were the moderators and did not come back. So our new team decided to shutdown the game temporarily and work on an anti-cheat service that would temp-ban the exploiters ingame. I even made a discord server dedicated to the game (without any luck lol), and tried my best to keep the game alive. But overtime our team and I started to lose ideas on the game so we stopped uploading stuff into the game. I soon thought if i should have abandoned the game a long time ago since it isn't easy to just "make" a game and that's it. The development phases could affect you mentally. For example, if you don't upload stuff to the game people leave, if you don't do significantly good updates they will also start to leave, so you have to constantly dedicate nearly all your time in the game AND, still not getting the enough appreciation. So i finally decided to make the game private and deleted the stuff i made about it.

But yeah, if you still want to make a game, my tip is steal code from youtube LOL.

It was actually pretty challenging, well only the scripting part, I knew nothing and even just taking a script from the internet, wasn't simple for me

@@janisjanis01 I started learning how to script last year and started developing on Roblox after years of just playing. It was actually a lot easier than I thought. Roblox Luau was a good base for me, and I started learning other languages easier because it taught me the basic structure of coding languages. I learned how to script from TheDevKing. Now I only take scripts when I have to do stuff with maths and cframes because it is very complicated haha.

So I had the tower obby idea back at 2019, but I gave up because I couldn't do the lightning. Like the top of the tower was lighty but the bottom was full of shadows. How did you do it so everywhere has the equal lightning?

Games are only as popular as their marketing. In your case, your game didn't do well because you didn't market it, however this video is a really good marketing tool and you can use this channel to market your future games.
