Thanks for the heads up. I've been prepared for a long time, and I'm thinking 72 hours seems like a bit of an underestimate. If it's not going to be safe to leave the house for 3 days, I can't imagine that on day 4 we can pop out to the shops and everything will be back to normal. I reckon a few weeks to be on the safe side.
It’s weird. They don’t want people to be scared but maybe prep for 3 days!? I’m in the US, Georgia. I like to know what people in other parts of the world are doing.
As a Brit my main concern is a malicious cyber attack on our utilities lasting days/weeks. Personally I don't fear a nuke attack, as I live well within a nuke strike zone of primary industrial/infrastructure targets, so would probably be vapourised instantly or gone from radiation very quickly.
I think 72 hours is an underestimate - given how long it takes for an ambulance or the police to show up now, in the event of a national emergency, I don't expect any help to come soon. During covid, there wasn't much of an issue with the supply chain - things disappeared because of panic buying but in the case of the supply chain being disrupted, it's anyone's guess how long it would be before deliveries resumed .
It's hard to know who to believe. Yet we all have had lots of recent lessons in who we definitely shouldn't believe. Maybe we should work the truth out from there.
I here some people say the super markets are full so there's no problem. When the SHTF they will be panic emptied in less than a day. I think we only got days left.3 days is nowhere near enough, try 3 months.
The statement "without going out of the house" is interesting. That implies prepping for other things rather than war etc. Perhaps pandemic, extreme weather events or social unrest (due to lack of food) etc.
If you’re in a grid down situation with little water…dried beans are not your friend. Tinned beans or home canned beans are best. I’m in Texas and we’re always in a drought. I have cases of every type of beans canned up that I flavored with everything from beer, bacon, chipotle, ham hocks…I’ve made soups out of them. As well as canned beef, pork, chicken, sausages, bacon, and soups and stews and vegetables. Nothing is going to get cheaper. I look at it all as an investment for my old age. If nothing happens, I’ll still be able to be a Walmart greeter at 80 on minimum wage and live off my canned goods. 😁
We were told to save at least three days supply of essential items earlier in the year and they've been mentioning conscription, my opinion is if the election doesn't go right next week the powers will do something, we must also understand that we have a very small army , no navy and a limited amount of airpower after giving to the issues in Ukraine and on top of that all the political turmoil in our fair land . Cheers Steve 👍
Please note this is not advice by EU but a speech our (Finland's) former president Sauli Niinistö gave in Brussels in an EU meeting. And Finland has 1300 km ( little less than 1000 miles) border with Russia so what they do does concern us. I am a native Finn and I agree with President Niinistö. There is no eminent threat to Finland but Russia is infact already messing with our digital services, they are doing distributed denial of services(DDoS), for instance a Major bank In Finland and in other Nordic countries, Nordea Bank, has been suffering from them for weeks.
Stay inside, tape up doors and windows, don't leave home for 3 days and have 72 hours worth of food, plus have a means to access news and emergency services. This is advice regarding a nuclear attack/event where fallout is an immediate danger. Launch on warning protocol would likely mean a short period of escalation, after which much of everything would be gone! At this point things would get worse.
This is why we prep, things are definitely getting worse no matter what way we look and to be honest I think it’s time to be ready for just about anything to happen now.We need to remember to have fun and still enjoy life and not let it all get on top of us but stay ready and stay prepped.
Before you finished, I was about to remind you that we were warned a whie back along with a Scandinaviancountry, but I dont recall the UK warnings for war worries and staying indoors! Curious!
I think its a 'just in case' something kicks off, but you never know with North Korea entering the fray. Like you, most of the preppers should really be in a 'maintenance' phase now. Keep up the good work. Love the channel 👍
I am, a combination of preparing for winter, as they can get bad here near the Pennine foothills in a semi-rural environment and in case of a breakout of combat operations in Europe, either or both boots on ground and cyber attacks. It all depends which comes first depending on the political situation and the weather. So checking food stocks, batteries, camping gas, and water stocks, etc and anything I can think of in between, ready to go if or when needed.
How to build a cheap bunker fallout shelter: How to do a cheap bunker either indoors ground (uk) or 1st floor(usa) or outside, 1) use sandbags to build 4 walls leaving a 2ft wide doorway, 4 inch hole for air pipe and 1 inch hole for power cables. 2) use steel box section as beams across the top of the walls as roof beams. 3) use steel sheets 11 guage or thicker across the steel box section. 4) throw a tarp over your metal roof. 5) use sandbags on top of steel sheets. 6) place composting toilet in bunker. 7) push air pipe 4 inch through sandbags connect hydroponic carbon air filter on outside of bunker. 8) mount hydroponic 4 inch inline fan onto air pipe inside bunker. 9) put 1 inch pipe into electrical hole and then run extension lead with surge protector into bunker to keep power station charged. 10) place small low cabinet inside with 600w mini oven, 800w microwave and 200w mini rice cooker on. 11) store 400w fold out deployable solar panels inside bunker. 12) place mattress and food water inside bunker. 13) make door wood or metal. 14) with sandbags build L shape tunnel to doorway with more steel box sections and steel sheet on L shape tunnel. Cover in tarp and then sandbags across L shape tunnel roof. Your better of building a longer narrow bunker than a square one due to the weight of the roof and the steel box section, less span width means less force in the centre of the roof. This is about the cheapest bunker you can build for a couple of $£1000s giving you 6-12 inches of sand which is 3 layers of radiation protection or pf3 which combined with your positive air carbon nbc filter will keep the radioactive dust from entering in to the bunker which you then won't breath in (thats the biggest killer- contaminated air). If you have the finances to do concrete and steel this will give a far higher radiation protection, you want to aim for 3ft of soil or concrete on the sides and roof to give pf1000 level.
What about the technique of creating a wall from concrete sacks, wetting them so that they set together as a fairly solid wall. You'll have a decent outdoor storage area which can double as a shelter should things go crazy..

Exactly what the British government have been doing about preparing and keeping 72 hours of food and water

Thats exactly what I've been thinking today.😂

North Korea is the least of our worries; successive British governments have posed a far greater threat to us
