There are definitely things that could be done better/changed about the classic, but all things considered great job Rogue with the event. You guys are the gold standard when it comes to covering these things.

Tim Axtell but still slower just because hes heavier there is no denying someone who is lighter is faster question is where his perfect point is i think hes already at it and just has to wait for the right moment to won
@@philipmeisterl I think even if he puts on say another 20 pounds of muscle he should be able to be close to the speed that he is now maybe a half second slower but still compared to thor at 440 pounds it would be a good fight between the 2

yeah it was consistency. while mateusz won 4 events thor was always top 3 or 4. what killed him was dead lift which he placed 8 in and if he didn't tie in bag over bar which shared points it would have been closer.

22k USD that Pole won for 2nd place is laughable at best!! Its by a mile more demanding comp throughout the season and they pay peanuts. (BTW 1st place this year was 72k USD, so more than 3x for placing second)
That’s the sad reality of this sport. It doesn’t bring that big of an audience as other disciplines. I think those guys deserve much more than overpriced football players - I mean mediocre players from mediocre leagues earn way more than that, especially considering the fact that 22k is what they spend for food every month. What we can do is recommend this sport to our friends so the audience grows. Seriously, that was a great spectacle, it was worth staying till 4am.

Thor and mateusz literally went back and forth in this competition. Trial by Stone, Mateusz, Bag Over Bar, Thor, Wheel of Pain, Mateusz, Deadlift, Thor, Timber Carry, Mateusz, Cyr Dumbbell, Mateusz. This was Mateusz vs. Thor
They need to change that point system. It's ridiculous Mateusz to be the winner in 4 of 6 events, with WR on Cyr dumbbell, with best time ever on timber carry, record distance on wheel of pain, and best time on stones and all that to be just regular 10 points. There should be bonus points for all that. Thor didn't even try to broke his record on elephant bar. I know that Mateusz has relatively weak deadlift and squat but he dominate everything else.
Z is the greatest strongman ever. Eddie 2017 was the strongest any human ever got. I’m an eddie fan. But, Current thor seems on the verge of taking that title from eddie.
I really wonder about that, Eddie was amazing in 2017 true, but I think Thor might already be stronger. Thor has already deadlifted 480 kilos in training (without a suit), something Eddie never managed to do before pulling his 500. What pulled Eddie over the edge, as he himself admits, was pure willpower. If it comes to pure muscular strength, Hafthor may have already surpassed him.
@@DutchDread he got stronger and stronger after the 500 pull in 2016. people wondered if 510 was possible for him in 2017. in WSM 2017, he did what was necessary in every event, not giving his max.
Mateusz won 4 of 6 events but still lost because of the damn deadlift. If he improves his DL he sure will be a force coz apart from DL he is good at everything else especially the stones and dumbell pressing. I've never seen anybody like mateusz who is 330 lbs yet stronger or at par in strength with guys weighing over 400 lbs. Kieliszkowski is the future.

He tore his plantar fascia at WSM 2019 in the second event of the heats if that's what your thinking of.
Everyone thinking Mateusz should've won doesn't understand the point of these competitions. It's just as much about strategy as it is moving the weight. Brian Shaw talks about this quite often. Individual performances on an event are meaningless since all these guys are capable of doing crazy things with the right preparedness/rest, it's a marathon not a sprint. Thor won the marathon, but Mateusz is damn good at sprinting.

In this case, the first win in the stone Medley he won by about 2 seconds after going BEHIND Thor, that is a huge advantage, Thor went first, and didn't get to see other peoples speed or techniques, despite that, their performances were basically identical. Mateusz SMASHED the wheel of death, deserving all praise. By the time of the frame carry, Thor was in such a huge lead that his optimal strategy was just to not get injured, Mateusz HAD to win, but still, this was a great victory. CYR, Mateusz did 320, Thor tried a 330, knowing he had already won, just for shits and giggles, and he just barely missed it. If he had had to do a 320 for the victory, I have little doubt that he'd have done it as well. Tl Dr; It was 4-2 for Mateusz, but it could just have easily been 4-2 for Thor, both men performed amazingly.

World records are completely irrelevant to anything to do with the competition. Strongman is about being efficient in everything, thats why contests test every aspect of strength, and kielz wasnt complete enough to win, whereas thor placed top 3 in every event I believe.
The points system in this show is exactly the same as any other show. Lots of guys have won multiple events and still lost. Thor won 3 events at WSM 2016 and still lost to Brian who won 2. Maxime won 3 events at Santa Monica and finished 3rd. Tf is wrong with people? If you have a huge weakness you don't deserve to win regardless of how great your performances were for the most part. Mateusz is incredible but I guarantee the man would say he didn't deserve to win this show, he has pride, he doesn't want to be gifted a title when he doesn't have the most points. Fact is Thor was champion because his performance was better OVERALL.

Jan Vaněk problem is his strength is his speed and if he ups his bodyweight he will become stronger but slower
Philip Meisterl not that much slower, he’s still very young and his body should be able to carry the extra load without much issue

Eddie was nowhere near how strong a human ever got. Dude has horrible grip strength. Ask him to deadlift 400 without straps and he's done for.

At 3 events then did poorly on the other two and finished 3rd. That's not domination overall not to mention you have to qualify for the ASC big show.

Technically Mateusz won 3 events, Thor won 2 and they tied on the stones. Mateusz ruined it when he came 8th in the deadlift however.

Why brian shaw didnt compete?
Training for WSM, also he's old so he does less events on the circuit these days, and just focuses on a few, in case of risk of injury etc.
