That made a 13 minute song feel short, I need more
The immortal words of Reggie Pace: "That's it."
DO YOU HEAR THIS? MY DEAD UNCLE HEARD THIS FROM HIS GRAVE AND CAME BACK. THX NO BS FOR BRINGING BACK MY DEAD RELATIVE. .... . . .
Nice! I like how the band both have the raw powerful sound, but also a beautiful sound they switch to. I don't think I've heard many bands do both.
At the first couple seconds I was like wtf but then they got to the vocalization part and I was like whoa-
The whole band is so solid! But that tuba player is so good! Such full tone on EVERY single note is not easy to achieve on tuba (especially that convertible-shoulder tuba). Everything was so crisp! Not to mention that awesome tuba flip at the beginning.
+Ryan Pratt For me, I feel like its much easier to get fuller sound and warmer tone on a contra compared to playing a sousaphone. I feel like the reason that is is because a Contra is basically a modified version of a concert tuba so it can sit on your shoulder. Thus, requiring MUCH less air than you would need for a sousaphone. But that is just me.
Punish Melons I meant as opposed to a concert tuba. And the tuba he's using isn't a contra, the valves are in the wrong place for it to be a contra. It's one of those tubas that has two lead pipes so you can either play it sitting down with it in your lap or standing up with it on your shoulder, my guess is he just removed the second lead pipe.
It's just a convertible tuba. They're nice if you don't have the money to buy both a contra and a concert tuba. They're a little heavier than contras but they're lighter than concert tubas.
Ryan Pratt I learned the tuba flip with my contra tuba from watching a 5 second video 30 times lol. Its really fun once you get it down.
2:35 that bass drop tho
Just saw them last night at Higher Ground in Burlington and they put on a great show, full of energy and good vibes. Seek them out and they will make you dance like a crazy person!!
This is the most intense jazz I have ever heard. Powerful.
+Matthew Kantola jazz? not quite. amazing twist on brass band? yes.
Matthew Kantola most metal thing I’ve ever heard on brass instruments

The next super hero movie theme!
Which guy sounds like he's a mongolian throat singer?
John Moore it’s likely there bass trombone player, I feel like I know his range and voice from brass scene kids, his bass trombone solos are an inspiration and he’s got some insane vocal techniques that he uses for multiphonics
TheMoniathansNest It’s actually the second trombone player, and John Moore is right, he’s doing something similar to the Mongolian throat singing. It’s incredible when he does it just on his own. Although Reggie Chapman (the bass trombonist) does indeed do some amazing multiphonics as well.
Andrew Mitchell I wouldn’t expect it to be the rapper doing Mongolian throat singing. That’s amazing
It was the guy playing the trombone in the beginning you can hear him sing as he puts his bone down
@@themoniathansnest5404 It was the trombone on the left, but the bass player is Reginald Chapman!
Give it up for the drummer
Do you guys need a French horn player? I will volunteer any day!
I dunno about the sax player.
wtf lol
Watching the drums, the video seems out of sync with the audio. Is it? or I am just being stupid?
klpb sounds better
I wanted to like this more than I did. I like the composition of the band, the tone, the attitude, the novelty. But I did not dig the tune.
they must be on drugs
that circle breathing trombone
HE FLIPPED HIS TUBA THAT WAS SO COOL
