Look up Ballroom Competition. You'll probably see videos of dancers competing. They also have different age categories and I've seen all races/nationalities! The costumes are beautiful! The dancers are so talented. You can see how hard they practice. You'll enjoy watching😊

It's very common. You can't have a hair out of place in competitions.
