@@ivaneligio2874 I actually bought a 2015 Acura TLX awd, has around 290hp is awd and has a nicer interior, the s60r is still a dream of mine especially for that 5 cylinder engine.
@@DMCarReviews Yes it does. 2006 was first year for the 6 speed Geartronic automatic in the R. The advantage over the previous 5 speed auto was the fact that it no longer held torque back to protect the transmission in 1st and 2nd gears.
In my personal opinion, I agree with DM here. These engines will last but they must be properly kept. These aren’t the bulletproof non turbo engines. Trust me I’ve owned both.
I'm thinking about getting a Volvo s60 from around these years, specifically the 01 to 09 body style. There is just something about them that i really really like and everyone who i know who had one really loved these things. Its so modern and fits in well, and u can find them for a decent price online. I've owned an Audi and yeah it was nice but too problematic and same for my bmw i had owned as well. I bought a 93 volvo 940 and i never had an issue with it, the only thing issue was that being in Vermont not only can the winters be brutal but too many hills and for that volvo being rwd it didn't do bad but the steep hills always made me nervous so i no longer have it, that car had over 300,000 miles on it with the original engine and transmission. But now its time for an upgrade and i think the s60 or even the v70 wagon from this era would be absolutely perfect!
I’ve had my S60R since February, amazing car. Mine is stage 2 6 speed producing 350 whp. Word of advice, these are amazing cars but you must be fastidious about maintenance. If that’s you, then go right ahead. If not, I’d settle for a T5. Also this is the only video I’ve found of the automatic car which is surprisingly more common than the manual variant.
2 questions: 1.) what is the difference between the s60R and the s60 T5? 2.) are they difficult to work on or modify because of all the tech Volvo put into them? specifically if I wanted to modify the suspension since I know these have a fancy suspension system.
@@ironbeagle1610 1) The s60 T5 has a 2.4l I5 that makes around 250hp compared to the R's 300. Its also only fwd compared to the R being awd. The engine in the T5 is better for making more power due to the cylinder walls being thicker with the lower displacement. 2) The engines themselves are pretty reliable for what they are with the only major problem being cracked cylinder walls on modified R's and pcv issues. But the 4c suspension costs an arm and a leg to replace and the haldex awd system kills itself when you launch the car. It also doesnt help that the angle gear for the awd is pretty hard and expensive to replace.
I sold my 2006 volvo s60 2.5t had it 5 years it had coilovers and 3 inch steinless steel sportexhaust whit muffler delete it sounds so good and i regretted that the volvo was the best car i ever owned, only thing i replaced was the battery and some brakes pad miss that car. later ii bought a 2012 c180 mercedes c class estate but sold it had it in 2 year no fun car to drive. i may be buy a s60 soon maybe 2.5t or t5 its relly nice cars
That's Exactly Why I want this car the rumble of that 2.5L Turbo Inline 5 sounds crazy🔥💯
I agree! Sounds amazing.
Just go for the Volvo C30 T5 instead. Same engine.
This is a car I am going to begin saving up for, I can’t wait!
Hopefully you can get it soon.
Wait until prices go down. My dad got a v70 R 3 years ago for 4000. Now it’s worth around 7000. Not worth the price.
yes, me too!! here in Malaysia, it is around 2k-4k USD for 2001-2006
How’s it going?

the "kick down" in this car, nice. At 12:40, hell yeah! :)))

it's so quiet and peaceful in that cabin

The 07 has a tf80sc 6 speed auto

sounds like a bad wheel bearing?

😴😴😴 That is R! Push down the fucking accelerator!
Last thing I would need is a broken transmission. Got to be careful with older cars.
@@DMCarReviews These are volvos, and they are reliable. Just push it. You would be suprised how durable they are.

Transmission de la boite très lente
It's not slow at all
Fancy pants steering wheel
What?
im so glad that i have the 5 cyl version of the XC90
It would seem that most are wanting the manual of this car. What is your opinion of the acceleration of the automatic?
I loved it. Amazing car and very smart gearbox.
Thinking about getting this for around 6k as my first car, cant wait more!!

The S60 is great!
Chris you made this car look painfully boring man
Chris?
Awful turning radius.
It's not bad.
@@DMCarReviews i used to drive this car for years, it was really difficult to maneuver in tight parking houses
Compared to my P80 wagon, yes these cars have a terrible turning radius sadly. Love it despite that though
Not too important for me but yes, you are absolutely right

I went for 2005 T5 with Legendary B5244T5 and M66 box. Currently 350hp at 22psi
That is awesome!
Me to but my one 260 bhp standard
Tô querendo comprar um volvo S60 ano 2005; da problema no câmbio automático???
No problema :) All bueno.
13:58 Did you ever find out what this guy wanted from you?
Nope
Nice car! I guess that pothole at 3:26 left some marks, it didn't sound well afterwards.
Thanks. Good catch. Actually, such potholes are very common for our area. Nothing major...just a little bump😊
That is a 2007.
Fixed the title.
What type of rims are those? Interested for my s60…
Stock S60R rims
Do you know the model number/name?
@@NicholasScaturo I actually don't, but I can look it up
how do you get that pop up screen?
It comes out when you start the car. There is a button at the back of steering wheel to have the screen come out if it is down.
It comes when the vehicle is equipped with the optional nav system.
How to affix navigate screen on S60 2004 model?
Too bad it’s not a manual
Less shifting to worry about.
My T5 is 6 speed manual Spaceball 👌🏴
