In their first seasons Aaron Rodgers was 6-10, Peyton Manning was 3-13, Joe Montana was 2-14. Bears fans need to take a deep breath. First year success for a rookie QB is extremely rare. It is great to have weapons but their OL is historically bad.

Dont you dare say we were patient with Fields. He earned a fourth year, and you guys wanted a shiny new toy. Three years is only enough if you surround a guy with a competent team.
Waldron is a huge issue , we’ll suffer against the blitz going forward. Look at the Seahawks progression and ability to adapt on the fly since they have gotten rid of Waldron.
As a Seahawks fan I was laughing the first 2 episodes when they were excited about Waldron. He loves getting the play in with 8 seconds on the play clock. If he has 3rd and 6 5 times in a game he will call a WR screen with 1 blocker everytime. He does 0 adjustments so if the offense looks bad to start it ain't getting better and if it starts good by halftime the other team adjusts and he doesn't. JSN is a star and he refused to draw anything up for him other than WR screens and back field motion passes where he catches it 7 yards behind the line of scrimmage. JSN was asked about waldron on a podcast and he asked if it was live, all you need to know.
As a Bears fan, seeing how back and forth Bears fans are is toxic. Like you dog and you dog and you dog, and then we win and you take it all back. Texans fan here, Bears will be fine, I have a massive amount of respect for your defense now because I know how CJ normally looks and you made it difficult. Caleb scared me escaping the pocket. He was awesome in zone and got lit up on blitz, once he works on setting up protection and his hot read during the blitz you will see what Caleb can do. Also you should be able to RUN OVER the Colts.
Watching the game it reminded me of watching Waldron running the Hawks offense last year. When Bears fans said they got the 1st OC in the offseason the best one lol. They clearly didnt watch the Hawks last year. Then they followed the Hawks model and took a luxory pick at 9 instead of getting the best oline option. Romes gonna be great Im sure.
Asking as a guy that has never played a down of football, how does Shane Waldron become a OC in the NFL if he can't adjust to the Texans blitzing EVERY 3RD DOWN?!
Dude, Ryan Poles played as an O-Line man and still can’t put together a decent O-Line. Matt Eberflus was right in front of a catch and still challenged the call on the field. This team just does things that don’t make sense at all.
Bears should absolutely panic. 1 offensive TD in 8 quarters. Oline looks like a dumpster fire. Caleb sacked SEVEN times. He’s 1-15 downfield. Eberflus and Waldron are terrible. Defense looks good tho!
Why is big cat so upset he predicted them to lose against the Texans before the season started. I know it was a close game but the Texans are a top tier team we will be good
The only thing I'm confused about is how anyone is surprised. I've been watching the Bears for ~40 years and this is solidly on-brand. Over the course of the last 30 years, the Bears are well under .500. This organization is institutionally incapable of putting together a competent offense. That transcends any specific player, coach, scheme or whatever. The only thing that has remained the same is ownership. The fact that Jim Harbaugh was available and this org decided to stick with Flus should tell you everything you need to know about how this team works. I would love to see this team make a turn for the better, but I'm just not sure ownership are capable of getting out of their own way.
When young QB's getting pressured and sacked alot they tend to stop keeping there eyes down the field and start looking at the pass rush. So yeah taking sacks can stop you from being great. Low football IQ across the board expect for Eddie. Keenan Allen 32 years old history of injuries. Swift under performing. Hit that on the head. But let's get exited about a punter in the 4th or 5th round when clearly this team had o line issues. Remind me of the last punter that helped his team win a super bowl?
Yep what a horrible take bad oline play can clearly destroy a QBs prospects and make them shift their play. We've seen it time and time again. We've also seen when some of these guys stick around the league, get a chance to recover and land in a good situation they can play. Eg 2 former Jets Gino and Darnold.
@WSPBane I just watched it happen to Bryce Young. Killed his confidence. I think Caleb is more athletic and has a better arm though. That was another bad take by Dave, the one thing that's popped to me is William's arm talent.
Listening to the fans today thr Bears should fire all the coaches and find a new QB next year. Watching the guys that critique QB's each week have all said that Caleb made big strides from last week. Calm down people.
Hate to break it to you - most defenses in the NFL are good. It's a step up in competition - it's just a matter of very good defenses vs. amazing defenses. No matter what team you face in the NFL, you aren't going to get the pocket time you had in college. Bears will be playing good defenses the entire year. Vikings have a great defense; Lions have a great defense; Packers have a great defense. Every defense in the NFL is at least good.
And he missed 4 games lmaoooo as a die hard Bears fan I miss JF on this team.. Never saw the Bears trading him until year 3 and with the rumors throughout the season
Arguing that you thought Williams looked “comfortable in the first half” and finding some peace in that after watching this horrendous offense for two games is like applying a band-aid to two bloody, amputated legs in battle and thinking you could stand and continue the fight. While heroic, it is not actually happening.
We all knew this would happen. The fucking media over hyped them and we bought into it. We need to reset our expectations and allow for mistakes to happen. Or We are all going to be in the hospital having our blood pressure monitor by week 6
If Poles knew he was going to go QB once they locked up the first overall pick, the correct, logical, unemotional decision would have been to fire Flus and hire an offensive-minded head coach to pair with the new QB. That is how modern NFL franchises/offenses are built. Keeping Flus was a mistake. I’m willing to take a step back in defense if it means FINALLY fielding a modern NFL offense.
ill put it this way, if allen catches the td against the titans and odunze catches the td against the texans what's the narrative around Caleb?? people wanna oput it all on caleb but hes fighting for his life behind this line and has 2 dropped tds from his wr. also we were expected to lose this game and we could have won it
To match Kyler Murray week 3 total from his rookie season Caleb would have to throw for 563 yards which would break Norm Van Brocklins record. Nobody thought the Cardinals were ganna win 3 game that year.
It's not a qb issue in Chicago hasn't really been the issue is offensive line play has consistently as a whole been amongst the worst in the league year after year qb after qb don't expect anything more than a 9&8 season at best
I’m not a colts fan but I would absolutely NOT trade AR for Caleb gtfo 😂 did you see ARs throws they’re crazy good! And he’s insanely fast and athletic. Whereas Caleb cannot throw a deep ball, and doesn’t seem particularly fast or athletic. Both guys could fail both can succeed etc outcome doesn’t matter and both are basically rookies and will have bad games, but Caleb seems pretty basic I wouldn’t give up extreme talent and athleticism for that.
Yeah their copium is crazy. ARich played this Texans team a week ago and he's played a couple more NFL games then Williams and a lot less college games.
All this talk about Ebeflus not being a good enough HC to win a Super Bowl is wild. Only 7 active head coaches have won a SB. 3 of those are McCarthey, Payton, and Peterson, who all get shit on constantly. Reid used to be in a similar boat until he got Mahomes. Only 35 total head coaches have won Super Bowl, with 14 winning multiple. So have there only been 35 good coaches in the history of the NFL since the Super Bowl era or is it fucking hard to win one? Unless you’re sure the next Belicheck, Reid, Walsh, Gibbs, etc. is out there, you’re better off having some semblance of continuity as long as the guy maintains a good culture and his side of the ball is playing well, which Eberflus has done
People forget the Bears and Ryan Poles could have drafted CJ Stroud but they traded away the #1 pick. People can't just gloss over that. He passed on CJ Stroud - who is basically a top 3 QB in the NFL right now - and will only keep getting better. Ryan Poles needs a negative mark on his resume for this.
Don’t forget the passes on Christian McCaffrey (8) Patrick Mahomes (10) & Deshaun Watson (12th) picks for Mitch Trubisky 2nd pick 1st round of 2017 Draft. Haha 😂

Most people hard this game marked as a loss when we saw the schedule yet now everyone’s freaking out and the worlds ending because we lost. Only in Chicago does this happen. Caleb played behind a shit OLine at USC so if we have one season of bad OLine I don’t see it dropping his confidence as much as I’d be worried about a possible injury. Something has got to happen with this OLine whether it’s Poles has to blow some draft capital next year to get it or if it’s firing Chris Morgan and getting some else in to coach these idiots. “If you can’t handle sacks you were probably never going to be a good QB” remind me how did the Giants beat the Tom Brady twice again?? Oh yeah arguably the greatest pass rush ever assembled
like these guys but i cant take these guys serious if they dont think Caleb Williams holds the ball and dances around the pocket too much lol
He dances bc the o line sucks. Holding the ball will come in time. But stop thinking Caleb can just stand in the pocket when it collapse too fast
@@BearsRant dude be for real for a sec lol hes been doing that since usc and oklahoma. hes got incredible talent but the truth is he has terrible habits that the coaches will need to get fixed
@@marshallatkins1facts they just coping hard lmao tryna downplay Fields while Fields is 2-0 making big plays
Everyone giving Poles his flowers with a terrible offensive line. Nothing could go wrong there I guess…
Caleb Fields surely won’t be a bust
White Sox Dave can’t articulate a single thought
How the f didn’t Wahldren say oh how bout we put two tightends on the line to help chip???
Whole offseason:"Calebs gonna smash the chicago bears rookie passing stats" "he's gonna be our first 4000 yard passer in his rookie year" "look at this throw to rome odunze in preseason against 3rd stringers only him and mahomes can make that play"
Now:"come on guys he's a rookie he's gonna do rookie things" "hey that terrible interception into triple coverage when rome is open 8 yards infront of him on 2nd down is totally fine. we can fix that overtime"
It's shocking how we go from a top 2 rushing team last year to being unable to run the ball. Need to play more under center and run between the tackles.
Lmao we lost our best rusher that’s why
@@RedRumBilly we didn’t have Monty last year? Same exact RBs + Swift now.. need to let the line push forward
@@shpatibotmight’ve been talking about Justin
@@RedRumBilly year 4 Fields only has 1 more TD than a rookie Williams. Patience
@@shpatibot generational talent Williams has 0 while the underdog Daniels has 2 🤔
Buddy is definitely right about his arm. He was supposed to have a Patrick Mahomes arm he does not.
