I Just Crusted my house's after first bunch of chickens on new sawdust , but i had cruster up higher so it wouldn't take out as much and still took out 10 loads of litter per house . Most loads i ever took out and had cruster up highest i ever had as well . On average i take out about 3 loads of litter per house . We organic and sell at 49 days and we can't use plt and grow for pilgrims . Thanks for Telling us all about your setup .
Have you ever tried a pulverizer on your litter? We have done it before where we run the pulverizer through to break up some of the litter and then crust behind it. Helps cut down on the litter coming out of the houses.
@@FarmerHunt Never Tried That , However I Do have Pulverizer and Usually Pulverize about 3 time afterwards and air out .We buy our own gas here so the lower the amonia the better and fan time in winter here can break you . Thanks
Never realized how much it takes to prep for load out. Is there a reason why the feed is cut off several hours ahead of loading the birds? Apologies if you already addressed this in a previous video.
Good question! I don't think I have talked about that. When the chickens are being processed at the plant they don't want the chickens craw full of feed. The several hours allows all the food to get out of the craw and into the digestive tract.
Good luck! I'm sure you are looking forward to some chicken free time. That is a N95 mask. I think the model is 2700N95 by Moldex. They are very good for catchouts. I also wear one picking up chickens when they start getting bigger
This was actually very informative. Tell me though, what do you do with the live chickens they leave? By the way, I am still waiting for your JD 4066M HD video. I have a suspicion that I'll be waiting for a long time given your ominous assertion to.next weeks video.
There aren't usually many birds left behind. The ones that are typically are pretty small. We end up killing those. Some people save them and eat them but we don't. I am going to make the 4066M video a priority. July is pretty packed for us but hopefully in August we can get it done. We have talked about it several times. We just need to make it happen!
Question about broiler houses aprox 40x500 I've helped my uncle that has 6 houses which is the average being built in my area... But I have a neighbor that has 12 down the road from me whats the max yall would recommend for one person to run by theirself without help?
That's tough to say but for me I would not want more than 6 40 x 500 houses. You might could handle 8 but it will keep you very busy. 8 with some good part time help wouldn't be bad. It's just hard to depend on help sometimes with chicken houses.
Why dont you put suspensión on the sensors too? That way they will go up at the same time you roll up your water lines. Im a ranch manager too and i have them like that

For me also being a chicken farmer, catching out can be exhausting. You gotta wake up so early to get everything up
You definitely are worn out at the end of a catchout. Especially if they drag it out. I sure do love to see them all gone though!
Catching chickens ain’t no joke it’s hard work I done that job for about 15 years but I still enjoy watching these videos
It definitely is. They've got the catch crews catching 3 houses a night now. I don't know how they survive.

i only catchout at night so the chickens keep cooler during catchout
That's mostly what we do too. The first catch crew starts during the late afternoon but the rest are throughout the night.
