That truly was epic. I've viewed hundreds of hours of mob documentaries, podcast, interviews and every other form or way of dissemination of Mafiology and this channel is in the top 1 percent and this particular episode was the best. So refreshing to hear new information on the subject not just a couple so called experts or half -assed fugazi wiseguys regurgitating the same well known accepted so called facts and stories. It was so great to listen for close to an hour an a half and hear multiple new names and stories from the real deal. Not just a real member but real experts with a very professional, journalistic approach to providing an as historically accurate account as possible and without adding any ego, exaggerations or any other bullshit to the story. And no disrespect to the man but it was also great to not hear anything about Lucky Luciano. If he was mentioned I must've missed it. Bravo i adio mi Amici, semperi grantiti , siempe' amore'

I believe what Mikey scars is saying and from me watching this show since day one I really don't think that he's trying to throw anybody under the bus I believe that he's telling people the truth I believe it's tough when he is telling true stories about what he been through and I thank him when people ask him questions that I feel like he doesn't want to answer but he's still answers them I really feel like he's a laid-back relaxed dude now

Note that I misspoke when I said Paolo Palmeri attended the 1928 Cleveland meeting. Buffalo was represented at that meeting by Sam DiCarlo, but Palmeri did help mediate a dispute in Cleveland between Lonardo and Todaro around 1926 and also attended national meetings in Chicago and New York between 1931-32.
I saw all the videos of your channel and you guys gave me a wealth of knowledge of Cosa Nostra pre 1931, information that was totally obsucure to me, so you are forgiven my friend lol

Mike, your very well versed in the history of the life. Can you explain how Anastasia was able to change the name of the family from Mangano? Also, what is the process of getting the family name change, and why is it so seldom? We need some Carniglia brothers stories if possible.

Mike I commented around a month ago about Joe Sonkens on Hollywood, FL. And I just noticed you mentioned living in Hollywood and Hallendale years ago. Lots of history in this area especially Hallendale. Any stories from down here? I'm sure you had to be familiar with Sonkens place. It seemed like the unofficial "All families social club" kind of the way you described Spero's club except, of course all the "civilians" that also patronized the place. I was just a kid in the 70's but my old man sold Joe most his liquor back then. Especially the Cutty Sark. Being Italian the crowd seemed like extended family but I'm sure most the locals just thought that "ya'll was just a bunch of snowbird tourists". Rather than... "youse guys look like a bunch of knock around, Wiseguys from Brooklyn".

First time seeing this interview with @mikey Scars. Awesome to hear him talk about Utica and the Falcones. I still have an aunt alive today that remembers his grandfather. She’s in her mid 90’s. Sharp as a tack though. She remembered him as “Jimmy” which Michael confirmed was Vincenzo’s nickname.

Great stuff guys you got to read the book gangs of NY by Herbert Asbury awesome lower Manhattan content. Another interesting character was Paul Kelly head of the 5 points was Italian .Asbury wrote also gangs of Chicago and Barbary coast a book on west coast crime keep it up boys

It's a cool dynamic that you guys have going on. Six guys with incredible knowledge of (and the ability to clearly discuss) the history of the mob. Both foreign and domestic. Five who passionately researched, and one who actually lived it and knew the people. I'm a fan.

I always thought Frankie Yale, probably a good chance of being a Boss in New York once organisation came about, If Capone hadn't had him took out. The stories of Yale and his crew which included one of the mangano brothers, fighting the Irish mob; guys like "Pegleg" Lonergan in New York, and how an Italian became known as "Machine Gun" Jack McGurn. Interesting story that to me.
